This is an odd one, because I have to say that the design and illustrations by Neil Packer are impeccable, however I believe this should have been done justice with a standard edition like "The Complete Plays" by Shakespeare, also illustrated by Neil Packer. The paper binding is high quality and fine, but doesn't feel worthy of what this book is and the thing that really frustrates me the most, is that some of the artwork is so incredibly beautiful and intricate that it just feels wrong to not have gone for the largest possible size for a standard edition as it just cannot be appreciated properly when printed in this size. I mean this still has to be one of the most beautiful editions one can imagine to own, but still I feel this has been unfortunately quite a big miss, for what it could/should have been, for maybe just a couple pounds more.

An outstanding edition of this work! Large, clear font with crisp white pages, and a huge number of images done in modern yet late medieval style at the same time. The images in each realm of existence are done in a different color. In an excellent translation.
