Complete Process
The whole process from sales to installation was managed extremely well. Freedom Kitchens are a great team to work with. I highly recommend them.
Poor Product and Service Avoid
Poor Product and Service AvoidNever use Freedom their product and service is appealing. We had a new kitchen and pantry put in last year and they are refusing to honour any warranty instead inferring we did the damage. The cupboards and draws are delaminating and hit on closing. The kick-boards are 10+ mm too narrow glued to the carcass legs and there are gaps everywhere. My personal favourite is they tried to colour in some of the damage with an artline that was not even the same colour… Their own inspectors accepted that this was product and instal failure but refuse to rectify. So now we have go to NCAT.
Recommend Freedom
The designer was very supportive listened ,also extremely helpful in suggestions to eternize the space to the maximum . Team of trades were all communities and thorough in their work and assisting in making it as efficient and easy as possible .
END RESULT EXCELLENT VERY HAPPY

Kitchen was ok quality
Kitchen was ok quality; installer was very helpful and accommodating and installed in under 3 days.
Communication was a bit weird with who to talk to about certain things like delivery and confirmation on dates/finishes. (Their portal is also unusable on a phone as well)
Highly recommend designer Steve, he is a legend and made the most out of the space.
3 Stars is only really due to the lack of management from freedoms side.
Would recommend you get a quote from freedom for a kitchen as the price definitely on the better side rather than other companies.
Awesome Experience
Showroom consultant very informative and designer was amazing - kitchen installers (who were contractors) did an awesome job and I couldn't be happier with the product, such great quality and alot more affordable than I thought it would be ... ....would highly recommend
Stay Away from Freedom Kitchens
I nearly made the mistake of using Emstrom Pty Ltd / Freedom Kitchens for my kitchen renovations. After poor communication from Freedom staff in getting a date for my final inspection and measurements. I then googled Freedom Kitchens and read the many bad reviews. I had already put a deposit down and I was willing to lose half of it if not all just to get out before the job started. I did not want to go through what so many people have had to endure with Freedom Kitchens, many people waiting months to get the job completed after the job was started in their home. It is disgusting what Freedom kitchens are doing to people. Stay away from them.
HORRIBLE SERVICE AND QUALITY!!!!DON'T…
HORRIBLE SERVICE AND QUALITY!!!!DON'T RECOMMEND!!!!
Firstly I would like to mention that the contractor which they use to install the kitchen was really rude and horrible to deal with. Upon getting a quote from Freedom about the costs of the installation they gave me one price for then the installer to give me a much higher price with all these inclusive costs which I was not made aware off prior. I requested an undermount sink to be charged $150 for 2 pieces of timber which cost $15 that is actually outrageous when they are already installing the kitchen. That would not have taken him extra time or difficulty in effort, when asked for a explanation from the Freedom team they were no help. Once you pay them the money they don't care or want to help. Not only did I wait nearly 8 weeks for this kitchen to be made the cabinets had scratches with paint stripped off, cabinet door was incorrect size so have to get that replaced and continue to wait another 2 weeks.
Clearly all the bad reviews are there for a reason and they don't take pride in their quality of products or customer service.
Would never recommend them to anyone. STAY AWAY and don't waste your money.
Over promise and under deliver
Got me hooked with a design - committed to the kitchen then found out they had massively underquoted, and the design could not be delivered (cabinets covering windows, not able to maneuver a fridge in, laundry covering back door). Would not take ownership of any of the errors, and insisted on progress payments to make any adjustments - when it was fixing their mistakes. Escalating to Head Office/Senior Management makes no difference - you either fit in with them or don't bother. The saving grace was the installer/builder - who isn't even part of Freedom, but was fast, helpful, and did the very best with what he was given to work with.
Regretful kitchen purchase
If I could give minus stars I would. Absolutely atrocious service after the install and poor quality kitchen. This is a long review but worth the read if you don’t want to get stung.
Freedom distanced themselves from any problems, blaming all of the after install issues on the installer that they supplied.
So here are the issues, hope there is enough room to fit it all.
They took full payment before the kitchen was even delivered. It was in the contract, my bad, I should have read it better, but now I can see why they insist on full payment before delivery. If I was holding any money they wouldn’t have got it.
Firstly they didn’t deliver the integrated dishwasher panel. It arrived about 3 weeks after installation and was dumped up the side of my house by the delivery guy.
Next were the shelves. External shelves and shelf space is wrong size. Contract said it should be 285mm I got 265mm with no reason or explanation despite my constant questions and providing of evidence.
They sent out cheap looking white plastic clips for the black shelves, insisted they were correct and that they do not use the clear plastic pin style shelf supports. I went to their showroom at Southport and took pictures of the clear supports being used on display. Only after providing this evidence did they concede.
They eventually sent out larger shelves but they are still too small.
The white carcass shows clearly around door gaps and joins. The 3D image in my contract which convinced me to purchase this kitchen did not show this issue (see pics).
We were told marks and hand prints won’t show up on the black cupboards. We specifically asked this question. Heaps of marks are showing.
I was back and forth with customer service for over 3 months but they would not answer my questions, tried hiding behind some wording in the contract which they obviously did not know the definition of, because I proved them wrong.
They sent a guy out from Freedom to inspect the kitchen and apart from some minor adjustments he said there were no issues. Mind you he reported that a cupboard door was a wrong size and had another one sent out. I got the installer back but the replacement door was the same size as the original. I still have the other door and no explanation why the same size door was sent out.
When the door and shelves were sent out in different deliveries they were also dumped outside my house after I specifically asked for that not to happen again after the dishwasher panel.
Once I had proved them wrong and provided evidence of their error, customer service decided to message me and make me aware of their harassment policy. You dare prove them wrong and insist on getting answers they go down the harassment line. It’s not harassment when you are incorrect, it’s terrible customer service on your part.
I considered legal action and made Freedom aware but I cannot afford the money or time to take them on so I have to cut my losses.
Freedom were happy for me to take them to a tribunal, told me they would wait for the outcome of that and would abide by any ruling but were satisfied they had done the right thing by me.
How is that customer service? Basically telling me to take them to court to prove them wrong after I provided evidence of the issues.
I sent letters addressed to the General Manager and Directors but got no response.
I strongly recommend you DO NOT use this company, they tell you all the right things during the design, show you a wonderful 3D design then deliver a poor quality kitchen which you will be stuck with and no after install service.
I challenged them on the full payment up front before I paid it and was told if there were any issues I would have recourse. That was a lie, only option I was left with was legal action but I cannot afford it.
Looking at all of the terrible reviews perhaps there needs to be a class action.
My advice is go elsewhere, you could install a better kitchen yourself.
Awful experience
Awful experience
We loved the design they did and signed the contract. Months later they then admitted they had made a mistake and it couldn’t be built, and charged us extra to make changes.
They were months late in delivery, and were very poor with communication
Their installer was rude, ridiculously expensive and left a mess.
The kitchen is still not usable.
DO NOT BUY FROM FREEDOM KITCHEN!!
DO NOT BUY FROM FREEDOM KITCHEN!!
Absolutely rubbish service!!!!
Supplied wrong and faulty appliances!!!!
It’s all their fault and not owning anything!!!!
Save you money and save your sanity dealing with these people!!! DO NOT BUY anything from FREEDOM KITCHEN!!!!!!
Buy somewhere else.
Zero customer service
Zero customer service. Zero project management. Zero care factor. I'm so disappointed I didn't read these reviews before I signed up. The designer claimed the company to be a one stop shop - it's absolute not. You will have to do all of the work and follow up constantly. They do not communicate or provide updates. Even after escalation to the Area Manager, he did sweet FA.
They provided a variation post site check that included items originally outlined in the contract AND then took 5 1/2 weeks to figure it out, even after finally getting in contact with the Area Manager, I had to revert back to the designer to sort it out. The design issues continued (like for like replacement kitchen, not hard) and took so long for them to sort it out that by the time they were ready to book in the install, the installer wasn't available for some 2 months.. At install some of the cabinets were damaged, I've now been waiting 5 weeks for replacements (not to mention I signed the contract early June 2023). Oh and no updates, comms, phone call and zero response to my written complaint - nothing. And don't get me started on their misleading waivers....
I've got 3 other rooms to design and get cabinets for - sure as sh!t wont be using Freedom Kitchens.
Losing Deposit
I made the decision to cancel my contract tonight and in the process will lose the deposit I paid. I was told today that I would have to bear the costs of getting painters and tradespeople to do flooring as Freedom don’t have people to do these works. I was assured by the design consultant that the price quoted included the work of getting the above-mentioned tradespeople. I have learnt the hard way to take the time to read the fine print. Today, the site checker came to take measurements only to let me know that the design needed to be changed. I had to reach out to the site checker even though I was assigned this person last month and did not receive any response till recently. When I mentioned my concern about the negative reviews I have read about Freedom Kitchens, the design consultant assured me that head office would help but to be honest I don’t have a good feeling. The messaging portal has been prompt to answer queries I have had. When the site checker mentioned throwing the current cabinetry from the second level to make it easier to remove cabinetry, I was a bit concerned. I know he had good intentions and not to damage the walls but I haven’t been sold on the idea. He then mentioned that I would have to be without a kitchen while I got someone to do the flooring, all good, provided people come back when they are meant to come back. Based on the reviews I have read, I can’t take the chance and pay more money. I was put on the spot and was told to sign if I wanted the 25% offer and the free dishwasher. Only valid at time of consultation. I have only myself to blame.
Absolutely appalling service
Absolutely appalling service. Just run.
Poor service and extremely Poor Quality
My kitchen and laundry took 8 months to get delivered and the service was terrible.
What was delivered was damaged and raised with freedom before the kitchen was used, freedom refuse to honor their warranty. The response from freedom was, it is not us, "it was the installer or it was the tiler or it was the stone people." Even the bedroom cupboards, where a tiler and stone people never went, freedom refuse to honor a warranty for the faulty cabinets.
The kitchen cabinet coating is so soft that wiping it leave scuff marks on the surface, so I am unable to wipe it. I have just raised this with freedom (they didn't answer there phone again), so I had to email Tony Gould (State Manager). I will post their response here.
UPDATE: This is the result from Rowena at freedom: We will not be honouring the warranty.
They sent out a Michael who told me he has only been with freedom for a few weeks and was previously a project manager to review my barely used kitchen
And never used bedroom cabinets. In his “expert” opinion the kitchen was misused. It has been used the same way as the kitchen I have had for 20 years that didn’t have one mark.
DEFINITELY DO NOT USE FREEDOM KITCHENS. A DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE FROM START TO END.
Now have to purchase a panel that was…
Now have to purchase a panel that was missing because it wasn't reported within 7 days. A 7 day window for self installation of a kitchen AND laundry is rough.
Unprofessional
One word - don't! Flawed design, zero project management, no certificates of safety and a refusal to fix delaminating defects despite photographic evidence. Electrical work still dangerous [when oven goes on the lights dim] and plumbing haphazard [dishwasher backed up through air conditioning and dodgy causing damage which they refused to fix]. Go anywhere else!! It is ongoing with the last communication being a couple of weeks ago. An experience no one should have to endure over years.
DON'T FALL INTO THIS TRAP!
I have no words to express my utmost disappointment with the abysmal service provided by Freedom's Kitchen. Despite repeated attempts at resolving the ongoing installation issue, I am appalled by the lack of urgency and professionalism displayed by their team.
After enduring 15 WEEKS of a dysfunctional kitchen resulting from the initial poor design and installation by Freedom Kitchens team is unacceptable. The consistent delay in the resolution timeline has not only inconvenienced my family but has also disrupted our daily lives significantly.
In addition to the extended delay, the utter lack of responsiveness from the customer service team and the assigned installer is deeply concerning. Multiple calls made over several hours have yielded zero answers, leaving me stranded and frustrated with the lack of support from their end.
This is only to show the poor design and workmanship of the Freedom Kitchen team, which has directly contributed to this prolonged inconvenience. They have taken no responsibility for the misfortune their service has caused. 1 year since we signed the contract and paid for the deposit and yet we don't have a kitchen!
Spent over ten grand on black cupboards…
Spent over ten grand on black cupboards I was told are mark free, but the material creates static electricity which means dust is attracted to the cupboards so are constantly cleaning the dust off. Always had problems with installation. Never again. Don’t use this company
Both a good and bad experience
This is the first time we have not installed our own kitchen and we were looking forward to sitting back and letting someone else do the work. Not sure I would do it again. Part of the experience was very good, other parts were very disappointing. Good things - our kitchen installer Max in South Sydney was fantastic. He did a great job. The process was pretty well coordinated by Freedom Kitchens HQ and the overall finished product looks good. Bad things - the consultant made an error in the colour selection for the door and stone benchtop which took about 6 weeks of me chasing up for her to fix. Nothing could start until the contract was amended. Then 1 x overhead cabinet was faulty (laminate peeling away from all the edges on the cabinet) after just 3 months. It needed to be replaced but they denied the warranty claim because we had used the cooktop without the rangehood for a short while. No other cabinets have this issue. I would expect the cabinets to handle some heat given they are kitchen cabinets and have a 7 year warranty, and I was very careful not to have anything damage my brand new white kitchen cabinets after I had spend $12K on them (trust me). We would have used Freedom Kitchens again, except for this last issue. We will dismantle the overhead cabinet and fix it ourselves properly.
