Installed in June, STILL waiting for final panels

Installed in June, however the panels for the integrated fridge were the wrong size, we waited ages for more….they finally arrived and were the wrong size AGAIN (despite the supervisor doing a check & measure). Now, nearly October and STILL waiting. Can’t log in to the portal as it’s treating the job as complete and received an email saying the same. Have rung and been on hold for absolutely ages only to be told someone would ring me back after they’d looked into it, but NO CALL BACK! This is an investment we can’t rent or sell until it’s finished. Come on guys, we desperately need this to be wrapped up. THIS IS COSTING US DEARLY

Had various problems with kitchen and installer. Major water leak from pipe installed by freedoms plumber,
Flooded the back of our house.
End panel the wrong size 3 times before getting it right. Scratch on one the panels.
We could not get in touch with freedom after numerous calls and no call back from them or their installer

Hope this advice helps.

I was really excited to start the design process with Nunawading's kitchen designer Jack. On the day he was charming, fast talking and it was all over in a flash. Jack told us our budget was "too small" and then told us what we should do, wrapping it up in a package with a huge amount of pressure to sign a contract that he explained had pages of content that are irrelevant and don't need to be read, and we needed to pay then and there. We did.

Then we sat on it for a day and thought this is not at all what we wanted or asked for. We realised we had been pressured at the time and were distracted from our goal and vision. We thought we had a cooling off period of 5 days. That is the law and that is a clause Freedom Kitchens has on their website and in the contract. We should have been protected.

Jack said "no". He sent multiple emails until after 11pm and they started again before I woke the next morning. This was so upsetting and so stressful. It was a huge battle fighting Freedom to get our deposit back. I sent emails asking for help, called head office, area managers, different stores, anything I could do to get someone to talk to me. The most helpful person was from the Frankston store who contacted the area manager for me directly. (If this person reads this, thank you so much for helping, you were really empathetic). I was told I was entitled to a refund and that what Jack had told me was completely not true.

It didn't end here though. I still had to chase up the refund for another week, going through multiple contacts. We did end up receiving our deposit due to requesting it within the cooling off period.

My advice: Do not sign or pay anything on the day, even when they offer you the 30% discount that they say is only valid if they sign and pay the deposit that day. READ THE CONTRACT! Do not lose track of your goal and your vision. If you meet with Jack the "designer", be extra careful.

Hope this helps someone.

Absolutely terrible customer service

Absolutely terrible customer service! Thought we were doing the right thing by going with a big company even though they were significantly more expensive. What we didn’t know was once they’ve got your money they don’t want to know you anymore. We had our kitchen, kitchenette, laundry & bathrooms done with this mob 12mths ago & I kid you not they’re still not finished the install! No joke! 12mths later & I’ve still got panels that arrived damaged, drawers that don’t close, doors that don’t close, LED lights not fitted, damaged walls & ceiling from their installers & nobody returns calls or messages. Truly shocking & beyond frustrating! Absolutely blown away & out of pocket a lot of money for unfinished cupboards & faulty drawers & doors. If you’re considering choosing this mob, do yourself a favour & think again! I wish I did

Edit…. That reminds me!! After reading other reviews it’s like… oh yeah that’s right… my bloody sink didn’t fit & I had to buy another one literally that day so the stone bench top guys could measure up AND yep… oven didn’t fit even though we’d told them model numbers etc that they insisted on having. Unreal!! Oh… and yeah our installer appears to have gone missing in action. No replies, too bad so sad…. Ended up paying him personally a lot more than originally quoted too because he had to do so much work to make things fit & now vanished…
Do yourself a favour & choose somebody else!

A perfect example of a bunch of liars…

A perfect example of a bunch of liars running a business. These guys and girls come along with you up until you've paid them in full then will disappear no matter what.

Their installation joint was another nightmare who accusingFreedom of not acknowledging his site measurement report submission. Both sides were lying to buy time, steal time!

Multiple issues with manufacturing, and low-quality cabinetry is standing out here.

If you would like to fall into a time/money blackhole, do Freedom Kitchen but you guaranteed will regret it if you do so.

Any request for changes, no matter how minor in detail, and even though agreed and approved by their designer and CAD team, will be rejected by others in the production line. That happened to my pantry drawers. Entirely opposite of my request is what came in. I was recommended to retrofit at my own cost.

I am angry the block is using freedom…

I am angry the block is using freedom kitchen, if you look at there reviews online there service is disgusting. My oven and pantry can’t open up together and it’s been over 6 years and they still refuse to fix it. They blame the installer, who is there installer, and now they won’t fix it because they waited for my warranty time to run out as well. They ignore my calls and emails.
DONT USE THEM

Not a custom kitchen despite their claims

Worst experience I have ever had. The company completely misrepresents itself to get you to sign a contract including claiming to organise trades and installation and that it takes 6-8 weeks. That was in January 2022. It’s now August and I’m still waiting on my kitchen despite paying the full contract amount. They attempted to place the contract on hold more than once, provided a disconnected phone number and refused to provide copies of contract documents signed via Docusign despite numerous requests. Additionally they’ve provided deliberately misleading and under cost quotes which has led to significant increase in contract amount. The whole business model is a complete scam. They take your money and then disappear into the sunset with no interest in actually fulfilling what they claimed to do. My previous kitchen was an IKEA kitchen and the experience and quality was completely different. Save yourself the hassle and thousands of $$ and get yourself an IKEA kitchen because Freedom is nothing more than a scam…. there is a genuine reason why there are so many bad reviews.

Terrible Service

Having completed a major renovation not too long ago, I relocated to the Gold Coast 4 months ago and purchased an apartment which required updating.

Previously we had used small time tradies and small business cabinet makers, however, this time we wanted to try the Freedom/Kinsman Kitchens (both are one and the same as far as I’m aware) because we didn’t want to organise electricians and plumbers ourselves, we wanted someone else to organise from beginning to end.

From the very start, measure & quote and conversations on the phone etc. We were quoted 8 weeks to installations from acceptance of the final drawings. This suited us perfectly and seemed a reasonable timeline.
Our discussion began in early May and our initial kitchen quote was the first week of May.

We were constantly advised, “the quicker you are at your end, the quicker we can be on our end”. An urgency around work on my end was always implied, so we did everything on our end as soon as possible. Eg. Changed the power board/meter (as it wouldn’t cope with the appliances once kitchen is installed), and removed the existing tiles from the apartment. ALL, just so we wouldn’t hold up our kitchen and wardrobe installations.

The site checks took weeks to book in, and both times, we were advised the site checker would call us within 2 business days, the first one took 5 business days to call (that’s after I followed him up 2 times every day after the 3rd day) - the 2nd one had not called after 7 business days which then prompted me to write a not so nice message in the portal which sprung the Freedom team to have the tradesman call us to book in.

As if these were not enough, my kitchen installation will be 14 weeks to install from the acceptance, not the 8 as I’d been promised. And, finally last Friday I received a message through the portal re: BIR’s installation - 15 weeks from acceptance of final drawings.

Had I been told of these expected install dates from the beginning I could have at least chosen to speak with other companies which could have delivered earlier. Now, I feel trapped.
I can’t get my flooring installed until November and have been living on unsealed concrete floors since beginning of June. At this rate I won’t be able to have my new floors until November sometime, providing that the floor installation company won’t throw me out. No matter how often I vacuum, the concrete generates dust and we are living in unhealthy conditions as a result of us removing the tiles early so we weren’t the ones holding things up.

We were going to complete all our Reno’s and buy all our furniture from Freedom, but we can’t buy our furniture until these works are completed. At this rate, when we are ready to buy our furniture we’ll most likely be told that there will be an 8 week wait for that too or maybe longer.
So this minor renovation looks like it will take me 12 months.

My last renovation took 6 months and included 2 new bathrooms, 2 x kitchens, new floors, all the exterior removed, insulated, asbestos removal, new roof, concrete driveways, new laundry, 2 brand new decks on ground and first floor, internal and external painting etc. With this renovation, all it is, is 1 new kitchen and 2 BIR’s which is taking 6 months. Unbelievable!

My complaints have fallen on deaf ears and all I get fed are excuses. My issue is, don’t tell me 8 weeks from the start, and then once you take my 30% progress payment, tell me that the install will be 15 weeks. I work in the finance industry and we always make sure we “under promise, and over deliver”. It looks like FREEDOM are doing the exact opposite.

Initially, after our first measure and quote, I was speaking highly of Freedom and even sent 2 referrals through, but, going forward I will actually be telling people to steer clear.

Freedom Kitchens Frankston are Unprofessional

Freedom Kitchens Frankston are fast with the false discounted product sales pitch and constantly reiterating that their prices are due to increase due to the proverbial supply chain issues but are very slow and unprofessional in handling a refund when a contract is legally cancelled within the cooling-off period.

Horrible Customer Service …!!!

Still waiting for lots of answers from freedom kitchens. They have the worst communication gap with their tradies. The tradies turned up to install the cabinetry with absolutely no idea of the plan !!!
We, as the customer, had to provide them with the plan.
Before freedom kitchen took our money, they said that there will be a project manager to coordinate the project but it turns out we don’t currently have a project manager whatsoever! Freedom kitchens aren’t returning any of our phone calls or replying to our emails when we are trying to get in touch to resolve current issues. Either they have ‘2 hour’ meetings which have no endings, or people have lost their voices and can’t talk to us!!

I don’t understand how these people have the audacity to take our hard earned money and happily feed their families, while their extreme unprofessionalism effect our livelihood. This is something that they should think about seriously.
All I want is for them to take charge and complete the kitchen with or without sticking to the plan they drew for the sake of drawing, or give us our money back for the mistakes they did.

Freedom kitchens, please do a massive favour and stop advertising yourselves for what you can’t deliver up to satisfactory standards.

We are well and truly disappointed and dissatisfied with your so called ‘customer service’!

As you can see from all these reviews, every customer is complaining about your service. Further freedom kitchens cannot return a simple customer call. They boast about the online message portal which is only active until we pay the money.

Worst experience ever

To put a very long story short, my entire experience with Freedom Kitchens in Victoria has been filled with false promises, errors and wrong doings, lack of ownership or taking responsibility to see things through, no proactiveness, and lastly the failures in meeting expectations promised. I have drained myself trying to either get matters resolved or to try and progress matters but I have not for once seen this reciprocated to acceptable levels. I eventually cancelled my contract with Freedom Kitchens.

Give Freedom Kitchen a miss

Freedom Kitchen planner created plan with incorrect measurements. Project Manager checked the measurements, I don't think plan was changed. Kitchen manufactured to the wrong measurements. Project Manager forgot to provide updated schedule so traders turn up to demolish and Kitchen hasn't been emptied. Installer tries to install, cupboards all wrong. Plan has splashback at differing heights. Waiting for cupboards I have already paid for to be remanufactured. No Kitchen for theist 2 weeks and other 3-4 weeks before it will be completed. No organisation, no communication. Dreadful

Appalling service

Freedom are very good at marketing and engagement. Anything after that is appalling. They have taken my money and delivered nothing. Their technical process and understanding of the construction, installation and delivery for a kitchen is amateur to say the least and their communication is even worse. I paid my deposit on 17 Feb. They have since demanded my final payment to progress and I reluctantly paid it. It is now 6 May and they have confirmed half of my kitchen should be delivered in 2 weeks but don't know when my doors and drawers will be delivered! Crazy. Don't risk doing business with Freedom. You will be bitterly disappointed.

I never write reviews but THEY'RE THAT BAD!!!

I never write reviews but the overwhelmingly horrible experience I have had, has brought me here. The saving grace of my whole experience was my installer (Luke) who was amazing. My designer came up with some good solutions but care factor was zero once once the money was received (also tried to rush me into decisions using the line that the discount wouldnt count any more which I later discovered, the discounts are very regular). I spent about $30k with freedom kitchens and have never had such poor customer service.

I would recommend a prostate exam by Captain Hook faster

Had to give one as the site will not allow 0 stars
Was told it would take 8-10 weeks from start to finish. That was June. Then months of calling them getting ignored or getting the rudest girls in the office in Sydney been nothing but rude and vile we got a date. And told it would take two days. 29th of October which was a Friday so it meant 2 days with part of a kitchen.
A week before hand we got a call to say the oven we paid for would not come so go get one and we will refund you. And on the day our stuff was been delivered the cooker was there but at this point we had a new one so they had to take it away. The sink was damaged and so was the Extractor fan.
So the doors for the corner unit was 2 inches shorter the the one it was attached too. And they forget other parts. We were due to get a big panty the doors didn’t come. So after 5 more weeks the doors came but none of the stuff to hang it came.
We paid almost 800 for the cooker top after 4/5 weeks it broke we had our own electrician come out and there was no power getting to it. Had to wait another 3 weeks before they sent someone out. We got told don’t you have a bbq use that. Took about another 2 weeks for the refund to come back.
Then after Xmas the rest of the stuff for the doors came but no one would be able to fit them. And finally on Monday the 16/01 which is not technically into the 2nd year of a 2 day install the doors but no handles for the door. So we have 2 bits tape to open the doors .
They have removed all the reviews from their page on Facebook which was sitting on 1 star they have also blocked people from commenting on their page and removed all comments that are telling people not to use them.
So would I recommend them I would recommend a prostate exam by Captain Hook faster
Update
As of today the 19th of April we still haven’t had our damaged doors replaced . They sent 1 set of doors. We are now technically gone into our 2nd year for an install since they started to install it in 2021 and now in 2022 and still not finished . I would have been better off going to ikea half the price and finished on time

AN AWFUL EXPERIENCE AND NIGHTMARE, AVOID THIS KITCHEN COMPANY

AN AWFUL EXPERIENCE AND NIGHTMARE! AVOID THIS KITCHEN COMPANY.
Early Jan 2022, we visited Freedom Kitchens at Windsor Qld, and was told by the salesperson that it would take 3 months for the kitchen to be completed and installed. We paid $6k deposit for a kitchen order soon after the preliminary design was drafted by the Kitchen Designer. However, after this deposit payment, no notification or communication from anyone at the Freedom Kitchen Head Office confirming our kitchen order. We had to chase up the Kitchen Designer to arrange the Kitchen Installer to come and do the "Check Measure". First Installer came. Two weeks later another installer came (not sure why), and he finally gave us a quote to install the kitchen, nearly 2 months after we paid our deposit. (Owners are expected to deal directly and separately with the installers). After that, silence again. We chased the Kitchen Designer (no one else to contact) and asked for the "Final Version" of the Kitchen Plan after Check-Measure, plus the schedule of delivery & installation. Finally, towards end of March, the Freedom Kitchen Sales Manager contacted us, provided us with the bank details and told us to pay up the next progress payment before the production can go ahead; plus we needed to get into their "Portal" to approve the Job. We asked for the Portal Login details which were NOT provided to us. After a few attempts asking for the Login, the Sales Manager finally told us the Login username and password (but no instructions on which website to go to and what to do within the Portal), We found the website and tried to sign on. BUT the Portal did not work with the password given to us! The Sales Manager said the IT department would fix it. We kept asking him to email the final Kitchen Plan and the schedule of delivery to us. But he did not follow up with our concerns, but reminded us to pay the next progress payment. We felt stressful and lost our confidence in Freedom Kitchen to supply our kitchen order in good faith. It felt like we are "scammed". 3 months later, we still are NOT sure if we are truly a Freedom Kitchen customer and we still do not have a final version of our Kitchen Plan. We emailed the Sales Manager to cancel our order early April, and now still awaiting for the refund of our deposit. We have not heard from anyone at Freedom Kitchen yet!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

Extremely poor communication within this company. Got initial measurements wrong, which meant re make of products needed, which then took MONTHS to actually eventuate due to zero communication between departments . No one returns calls EVER and I had to constantly chase them to follow up and keep things moving. Even the transport company they use can't get it right. Took 3 separate deliveries and still couldn't deliver our products correctly. Installation date given and estimated completion was a week, when in actual fact it has been over 2 months and we are still not finished!!! Awaiting drawers and shelving. I would never use Freedom again or ever recommend them. The manager who promised to sort things for me has even left.... no one captaining this ship. No one knows what's going on. Very disorganised. Extremely frustrated with and disappointed in Freedom. Awful experience.

By far the worst sales experience

By far the worst sales experience. The designer came to our house took 3 hours to go through everything. Wrote everything down using a pen and paper and said he wasn't prepared to sent through a quote to us to consider both design options, so we had no idea of a break down to understand what was even included in his pricing. We asked him to leave 3 times and he kepted trying to get us to sign a blank contract with no detail as to what that actually included. These guys are beyong fraudulent. Stay well away from them.

What an absolute nightmare!

What an absolute nightmare of an experience getting my kitchen through Freedom Kitchen. From the start of my kitchen renovation the designer set the wheels in motion for a disaster. My kitchen project started on 23 Oct 2021 and completed in Feb 2022 because of a design flaw . The designer totally missed the design brief and designed a kitchen that didn’t function, meet the dimensions of the space and looked ridiculous. Freedom initially tried to put the blame on me for this, until it became blatantly obvious that it was their screw up to fix. Basically if something could go wrong it went wrong with Freedom Kitchen, e.g. the installer, installed shelves even though it was obvious there was an issue. Numerous other issues from delivery issues, lack of communication and Cabinetry issues - extremely poor quality. This was suppose to be a stress free, straight forward experience, however it has been the total opposite. I was not able to cook for over 3 months and live normally because of the lack of urgency to fix a very simple design flaw. This also resulted in unnecessary financial outlay. I was given $400 in compensation or an option to go to fair trade. All I can say is support local, don’t go with a group that do not take responsibility for their substandard delivery of the product and treat customers like their experience doesn’t matter!

Reply to Freedom: Thanks for the tokenistic reply (it is the same on received on my other review). I have been advised by senior management that there is nothing more that they are willing to do regarding what I went through with Freedom Kitchens, hence my review and feedback about my experience.

Worst kitchen company ever!
After months of deliberate stalling by FK I have an install date.
Today I’m informed they supply only and don’t manage the whole kitchen. I was very clear at the outset I wanted a complete kitchen and wasn’t looking to project manage.
