This is the worst phone and data…
This is the worst phone and data provider in the market. Quality is bad and they keep charging my credit card even if I already have a credit. Customer service won't refund any unused credit. What kind of business does that? Only Freedom pop as they have the freedom to keep charging a pop at a time.
Freedompop free plan no longer recommended
I had several of the old free lines from Freedompop (VOIP) for a number of years and I was pretty happy with the free service but the free plans were downgraded and eventually replaced after Freedompop was purchased by Red Pocket. Unfortunately for most people the new GSMA free SIM offered by Freedompop as a replacement is almost useless (10 calling, 10 text, and 25 MB of data) and you have to provide a credit card to activate. If you go over the monthly 10 text limit including incoming they issue a charge to your credit card. To avoid these charges I purchased a number of prepaid GSMT SIM/Annual Plans from Red Pocket via ebay and once you get set up the service is great value. However porting a number from Freedompop to Red Pocket is a nightmare. The old Freedompop website used to provide the information to port but now you need to ask in their chat or via email. They usually tell you to use the phone # and pin 9999 however this doesn’t work for any of the newer free GSMA SIMs but if you persist they eventually provide an account # and a 4 digit pin which is often the last 4 numbers of your newer Freedompop GSMA SIM. My latest issue is I recently purchased another new prepaid Red Pocket SIM on ebay and started the activation process after providing the correct port info for an existing Freedompop #. Red Pocket tell me the process was successful but a few days later I was rebilled for the new Red Pocket plan by Freedompop directly against the credit card registered on my Freedompop account. I understand Red Pocket is the parent company for Freedompop but I have no idea why my activation information on Red Pocket was shared with Freedompop and why they then billed the full amount plus taxes for a Red Pocket SIM/plan that was already prepaid. Clearly data is being shared between Red Pocket and Freedompop and there appear to be no controls to ensure these billing issues don’t happen. I contacted both Red Pocket and Freedompop who agreed I should be refunded the full amount billed by Freedompop but they we not able or willing to explain how this happened. I am still waiting for my refund which I am told will take 3-5 working days. My advice to anyone who signed up for the new Freedompop free SIM is to check your credit card for any unexpected charges.
Update. A few days after I posted this review I got a full refund from Freedompop for the incorrectly billed Red Pocket prepaid plan. By this time the Red Pocket SIM/Plan was working and my number was successfully ported but it then took me another few days with additional chats and emails to get the number removed from my Freedompop account so it could be added to my Red Pocket account. I guess I eventually got the right result but Red Pocket and Freedompop really need to make this fairly simple processes much easier.
Freedompop's poor service and policies designed to rip you off.
First, Freedompop no longer offers 200 min, 500 text, and 500MB of data for free anymore. It's been significantly downgraded to unlimited (wi-fi only) calling, 10 text, and 25 MB of data.
Second, their customer service is absolutely horrible. You can't get any help over call because your call will likely get dropped if no representative is available to speak to you at that moment. Email response takes too long, usually 2 days or more. Their policies and services are literally designed to rip you off. I would advise anyone reading this to please stay away from this company.
Third, T-Mobile's $15 prepaid plan offers unlimited call/text and 2GB of data per month, while Freedompop only offers 250 minutes, unlimited text, and 1 GB of data for the same price. I switched over to them. I was satisfied with T-Mobile's customer service and they gave me what I wanted without any delay or issues.

Beware! Deceptive and fraudulent practices
This FreedomPop provider has lots of problems so beware before you make the leap. From the beginning they lured me in on a monthly amount thru an online promotion but they would honor the price. Then they tried charging me more than twice that amount. Then their system couldn’t configure with my new iPhone. And with my old iPhone I never received data. And every month for a year (at least 8 or 9 times) they disrupt my service saying I need to update my payment information. So when I decided to change to another provider they wouldn’t port my number over, the number I ported over to them from Sprint. I have had to file a complaint with the FCC. I have spent countless hours on chat with them. I’m done. Beware!

FreedomPop is a SCAM... STAY AWAY!!!
FreedomPop is in my opinion a ridiculous SCAM company, they offer you a deal, you go into an annual contract, then after 3 month, they change the pricing and if you ask them to refund what you paid (even just prorated) they literally rip you off!!!!!!
STAY AWAY!
It's already the 2'nd time in less than a year, that they changed my offer, 1'st I started with the FREE plan, but once my friends already saved my number, they sent me an email that they are "upgrading" their service and switching over all their customers to a sister company, once the migration was done, I was forced to chose a Pricy plan..... so I realized you get what you pay for.... so I started over again I opened a new account with FreedomPop (oh, forgot? didn't they merge with a sister company?!?!?, oh guess just for those free customers, who they subscribed as a marketing target!!!), but now I made sure to take a PAID plan, I took an ANUAL PREPAID plan, hoping its worth paying in full in advance so they can't cheat on me again, unfortunately this did not work with a company that is out to SCAM!! less than 3 month into my (fully paid in advance plan!) I got a new Sim in my mail with instructions saying, WE ARE UPGRADING OUR SERVICES, BLA BLA BLA, go to our website and activate your new sim.... when I did so (without any choice, per their instructions that otherwise my service will stop working) it asked me to choose a plan!!! sure enough it was highly priced!, so I tried messaging them (as you know they got no Phone support!), they advised me that if I want they can reimburse me or I'll have to choose from the new plans...... SCAM!!!!, after trying to argue that this was a full year plan and i'm still under contract, (but when I realize that I can't win with someone laughing at me somewhere in China or russia....) I decided time has come to leave this crazy company so I asked them to please refund me, I emailed them the receipts of what I paid and the prorated calculation of what they owe me, but sure enough they came back saying we can only refund you this and this amount, please let us know how to proceed!!!! I had no choice I took back whatever they offered and learned the price of A SCAM!!!!
I write it here so you protect yourself!
I switched to TELLO, I'm paying $0.35 more a month, but I'm getting live customer support, and a real company with service as promised!!!
Don't waste your time, don't be aggravated by a scamming company!!!
UPDATE: 11/30/'20
FreedomPop Contacted me via trustpilot, to share my contact info as they wane resolve this matter.
I'll keep you posted if they end up contacting me and resolving this issue, although I doubt it, just hope they don't place me on the black list for speaking out.
And yes I reaffirm what I wrote before, and appeal their reply that annual plans were honored to be continued, if they'll consent I'll post the entire email thread here!

Please don’t ignore this message, it won’t go away.
I have been trying to contact you since last Monday to cancel my account. I have sent 2 emails and 2 messages on Twitter and no response. To my lack of surprise, it appears to be an ongoing issues. I should be able to cancel my account on your website but I can’t. This service has gone downhill since it’s incarnation . I have been with you since day one and now this. There’s also no number to call to cancel either . How ironic. I understand you don’t want people to leave , but that’s no excuse to ignore emails. As I’ve found out, if you ignore things, they don’t just go away, if anything it just gets worse. Please can someone contact me A.S.A.P. I will be truly grateful and appreciative , unlike you guys. Sorry, but it’s the truth. Hopefully you will respond to my review unlike my emails and Twitter messages .

Can't even cancel my account!!
I set up an account with freedom pop to try out their service. Turns out I get terrible signal with their service so I tried to go online to cancel my account... Well, I can't get into my account because they never gave me real login credentials and you can't access their support ticket help because ypu have to be logged in to start a support ticket. I called and I got dis-connected all 4 times. This company is terrible. I can't even cancel my own service!!! Do not use freedom pop.

Reactivated my service

Horrible
Horrible. Can't send photos to half my friends and family, now they won't release my phone number to another provider. DO NOT get this service!

ILLEGAL PAYMENT REQUESTS
Had an old free service sim. All of a sudden I am being charged for a service I never signed up for. Not only that but none of the UK help links work and there is no way to contact them. Will be reporting to appropriate telecoms and financial conduct authorities due to this illegal behaviour. Total sham outfit. BEWARE

Bad customer service
Been with freedompop for 2 yrs now my 10yr old daughter uses it in her phone to chat to friends & play games, uptil now ive hd no problem... she has unlimited txt & calls & 2gb data...I pay £21 every 3 months for this...this is the first time my daughter has used all her data, so I told her to just use her txts & minutes... but she cant... coz once the data runs out you cant use the sim unless you top up your data... not acceptable!!!!!
There is no way of contacting them, no phone numbers no email no live chat... I even tried cancelling the payments with them but no way of doing it on my account...
So the only way is to go to the bank & stop future payments to them...as ive read that some people have had payments taken for years after trying to cancel...
“Edited to add this statement”
It seems each person that writes a bad review has it reported....🤷♀️
Quite a few bad reviews here... we can’t all be wrong....

My experience or rather a nightmare…
My experience or rather a nightmare scenario with UK FreedomPop. COMPLETELY BOGUS OUTFIT. I would like to award a MINUS rating. Please go ahead and request sim(s) and if they don't work ( most likely ) then this will give you an opportunity to test out 1. your card payment company 2. local trading standards officer 3. write a rewiew on Trustpilot.
My sims did not work, no email response, no refunds, no reply to letter, submitting a ticket to support gets an automatic response that the case is closed: you are invited to subscribe to premium support but there is no way to subscribe. They advertise a basic free package but not available on website or app. Hey, but it will be tempting to try out for a few pounds sterling, eh?
See you here soon then.....

It is not working any more, don't waste your time!
Despite repeatedly reporting for years that Cyprus area code and the flag used is wrong they failed to fix. Such a simple fix and they didn't bother to take care, imagine you need something more serious...
Update: If your Support truly works then get the offending flag removed without any further delay!!! It's been more than 2 years since it was originally reported however you still continue to insult a whole nation... It seems there is no dignity whatsoever in this firm.

Activated SIM card, but still no service
I activated a SIM card yesterday. Although I'm provided with a phone number and my account displays that my service is active, I am unable to make outbound phone calls. When I dial out, I get an ATT recording that states "the phone call you are trying to place is not allowed from this line..." I'm provided with an ATT support phone number. ATT can't provide me with any support, because I don't have an account with them. I opened a support ticket with Freedompop, but I immediately received an email stating I have to pay for premium services for support. The support ticket shows as solved. If you're like me and just wanted to try out the service before committing to it, don't! Luckily I only paid $5 for the SIM kit and $1 for activation. Luckily my gamble was only a few dollars, so the loss is not too big of a deal. Stay away from this company for two reasons, 1) They don't provide ANY service, and 2) They use AT&T's network, which is what I was trying to get away from when testing a new service. Like my normal AT&T service, I'm lucky to have 1 bar throughout most of the Northeast United States - most of the time, I'm looking at "No Service."

I have nothing but problems all along…
I have nothing but problems all along with this provider, I can write pages about my experiences with FreedomPop, but the latest problem I have with this provider is that my phone service is not just useless, but it causes me lots of other problems. All my calls go to voicemail for a few months and I can not access the voicemail or make a setting to stop the problem. I contacted the customer support twice and the problem is ignored. It is not just a waste of money, but interruption to the phone calls. I will never renew my service with this company for a mobile service.
