The staff are always cheerful. They are friendly and knowledgeable about their properties, and they go the extra mile to ensure that tenants and landlords are happy, especially Penny, the branch manager.

I am renting a property through Fresh Move Torquay and have always been looked after. If i have a problem they try to get it sorted as soon as possible and i have no complaints. They are very helpful, informative, approachable and friendly. Have never had a unresolved problem and would recommend them to either buyers or renters.

Thank you for your comments and it is very unfortunate that you do not feel responsible for the rent due.
fresh move on this particular property represent the landlord. However, we do not make decisions on whether you can or can not surrender your tenancy early. This decision is made by the landlord which fresh move then instruct.
Unfortunately, as you are aware you signed a legal 6 month tenancy agreement with your landlord and it was refused by the landlord, upon your request, to exit the tenancy early under the 6 month terms.
In this case the landlord has the legal right to enforce the 6 month term and request under the tenancy terms that the 6 months rent is honoured by you and paid in full for the 6 months even if you decide to vacate the property early. By wishing to vacate the property before the 6 months does not mean that this negates you from being responsible for paying the outstanding rent to the end of the 6 month term.
The 6 month tenancy agreement is a legal binding contract of which you agree to pay 6 months rent to the landlord.
You advise that you have vacated the property but you still hold the keys to the property and your possessions are still left in the hallways of the building so you still liable for the rent as you still reside at the property.
As an agent we understand that there are times when a tenant wishes to vacate the property early due to various reasons and we will always try to reach a solution to release you early from a tenancy if you find yourself in a difficult situation. Normally we would re market the property and in the event we secured a new tenant your tenancy could end when the new tenant moved in assuming this would happen before the 6 month period and in this instance you as the existing tenant would be responsible for the landlords fees that would result in fresh move charging the landlord for remarketing the property.
However, in this instance unfortunately the landlord did not agree for fresh move to re market the property early as they wanted you to finish your remaining tenancy.
Again, we are very compassionate about your situation and will continue to help you where we can but we cannot always make decisions on behalf of our landlords especially is this given situation.

Great service and communication for landlords
Cheryl Hartnett in Bramhall has been looking after my property portfolio for some time now.
Before Cheryl took over I was using various letting agents local to where my properties were and pretty much all of them did a poor job. They were bad communicators, point-of-contact changed regularly and their maintenance departments spent my money like it was going out of fashion. I always felt they were hoodwinking me and my tenants at some level which created a background noise of unease. Cheryl then took over and everything changed. She does regular documented inspections with images, communicates everything properly, gets the best quotes for maintenance jobs, finds good tenants and I think she is the first lettings agent I've met who actually loves her work. She also helps the tenants communicate any issues so I can deal with them fast. The portfolio is in a much healthier position and I sleep much better at night knowing Cheryl has my back and deals with absolutely everything. She even dealt with terminating all of my existing lettings agents so I didn't have to. Highly recommended and very detail oriented!
