A big thank you to Lewis for dealing with mum's funeral. Good communication by phone/email. Very helpful, kind and compassionate.

Allow me to share the e mail which I sent to the boss of this family firm yesterday:

Hi Nick

Today was the funeral of my dad.

I could write a huge e mail, but I would like to say this - your team are totally excellent, I really don't know how things could have been bettered.

The morning my dad died, Oliver came and collected him and pitched the tone spot on - he told us what we needed to know on that day, and reassured us that we could get more information over the next few days (or sooner if we had questions). The practicalities around actually moving my dad was done with dignity from the outset and we felt the guys were welcome in our home from the start.

The planning of the funeral 60 miles away did not phase your team at all and the planning that was put in pre funeral meant that an unfamiliar location to your team looked familiar and seamless.

They really are to your credit Nick, and are a tight knit team operating as one, delivering a superb service which is by its very nature extremely personal.

After losing our Mum it was a case of who do you use for the funeral. We picked Armstrongs I am so glad we did they were so respectful and helpful from the moment we contacted them. The funeral was just beautiful and such a comfort knowing that all the details we wanted were taken care off.

Armstrongs Funeral Service could not be more helpful, considerate, and kind in dealing with a recent funeral for me, full of compassion and help in putting the funeral together, without being pushy and removed from the situation, on the contrary I felt that they cared and were genuine in their feelings and concern, explained everything, and nothing was too much trouble. I contacted Armstrongs when my father passed away, out of hours on a bank holiday. After being advised the hospice he was at couldn’t hold him until the morning after. From that first call on 19th September to after his funeral on 13th October I found myself completely reassured by their service. Oliver liaised with me regularly about my fathers care and arrangements and my living 140 miles away from Bury St Edmunds was no problem. He was professional, kind and offered suggestions which I hadn’t thought about that helped immensely in the planning of the service.
I opted for a woodland burial, and Culford (that Oliver suggested as a potential location) is a beautiful location which I selected. The online brochures for coffins/caskets and flower arrangements don’t do the physical objects justice (they were lovely) and the funeral team were compassionate and very respectful on the day. The funeral attendees were given a packet of wildflower seeds when the service concluded and all told me that it was a really lovely gesture.
To conclude, the team at Armstrongs professionalism, suggestions and kindness made a bad time more bearable, stress free, and I’m extremely grateful. Thank you.

What a lovely family run caring funeral directors. At such a very distressing time Oliver walked us through every step of the way. He gave us such wonderful professional and dignified care throughout. Every member of staff were so kind and considerate, from the receptionists to the pallbearers and driver.
We cannot recommend them highly enough, right down to the wonderful little touches of packets of wild flower seeds and planting a tree in memory of your loved ones. A very big thank you to you all.

Thank very much for the service you provided last Thursday and burial on Friday. You were extremely professional and was a lovely way to send off a great man.

We as a family cannot praise Armstrongs enough for the care and compassion they showed from the moment we went into their office to arrange our Aunts funeral to the actual crematorium. Their professionalism was second to none.
Extra praise to John Williams who conducted the service, he made sure everything was how we wanted it to be.

Everything that Armstrongs done made our dad’s funeral as less stressful as it could be. Me and my nephew were pallbearers and Nick Armstrong and the rest of the pallbearers made sure we were comfortable doing it and gave us support all through the process. John who done the readings was lovely throughout the process and everything was done to a very high standard.

Recently our Mum passed away just a few short years after our Dad. They both had pre-paid funeral plans and Armstrongs were the appointed funeral directors. For both our parents we received a patient, caring, sensitive, efficient and professional service. All the staff we had contact with were superb. I would not hesitate to recommend them.

We were so impressed with the compassion, proffesionalism and attention to detail, and the small touches... Wooden hearts, Forgetmenot seeds.
The warmth and kindness shown by the staff on the day gave us the strenghth we needed.
Then finally recieving the invoice. Included was a tiny seed butterfly with the most beautiful words. From start to finish a loving, kind experience. Thankyou in particular to Oliver and Ian .

Excellent company which I recommend without reservation. They were thoughtful, warm, sensitive, very efficient - everything you'd wish in order to help you deal with the burial of a loved one, in this case, our beloved Mum. Being my first experience of arranging a funeral, Armstrongs were extremely helpful in every step of the way. If any of us family asked questions via email, Armstrongs would always respond very quickly. All the staff we met &/or spoke to were all very helpful and professional. On the day of the funeral service, Armstrongs were very professional, dignified, and overall very efficient. Myself and family would highly recommend them and we can't thank them enough for making, what is quite a stressful time for a family, a smooth and easy process.

Whilst caring for my terminally ill younger brother I knew I had to contact a funeral directors and consequently arrange the funeral. It was very important for me to have already met the people who would eventually take care of him when the time came. Fortunately I met Lewis at Armstrongs and immediately felt that my brother would be in professional caring hands. Sadly my brother lost his battle less than 48 hours later but I was so thankful he wasn't being left in the hands of complete strangers. Kind, respectful, helpful, knowledgeable, and just so very very nice people, from the lady on reception and to Lewis who helped us to understand the procedure in a difficult time. We had a Direct Cremation for my late husband, and we were given the same respect as a family, as if it was a big funeral. Thank you.
