We rented a car online.
When we arrived there was no or any information where the pickup was supposed to be. We stranded at a container where multiple people were hopefully waiting to get collected... First red flag already: So shady, no info, no sign, nothing. After waiting in the pure heat someone came to collect all the people.
We got there and they explained to us, that they will not accept the card we have with us and will also not take my real credit card I have in my iwalled... All the people around us had the same issues!! No card was accepted. I am not even sure if someone left with a car the time we waited... Everybody was arguing desperately.
My luck: I speak Italian - but also great opportunity to make a side hustle for the employees, who just offered me to rent a car private off from him for ~1000€ - wow, what a scam. What a s hole. We cancelled our booking quickly online, therefore we lost "only" about 150€ to the galdieri but probably safed the rest of our vacation. We escaped and walked back to the airport - what a nightmare and a waste of a whole day.
The morals of the company and the employees seem to be really low. Additionally reading all the other bad reviews let me conclude, that this is happening on a daily basis, multiple times...working at this place must be awesome 🥇
Best advice to all the people out there reading this: Go to Sixt or any big car dealer directly at the airport. You might pay a little bit more but you know what you get, no trouble just pure professionalism. Don't let them ruin your vacation.

This company is a scam.
Once we arrived to pick up the reserved and PAID car, the credit card was suddenly declined and the only available option was to RENT THE CAR WITHOUT INSURANCE.
They refused to switch the card or to accept a debit card - which was used to pay the 150€ fee. Outrageously dishonest.

I recently rented a car from Galdierient and had the worst experience of my life. I purchased the Zero Insurance package, expecting full coverage, but I was left stranded after a flat tire. They towed my car but failed to provide a replacement, leaving me with my luggage on the side of the road.
The next day, they called to inform me of a replacement car that was a two-hour drive away. I had to pay €250 to pick it up. After four days, I returned the car and paid another €250 to get back to where I was staying.
To make matters worse, they suggested I rent another car to complete my trip, which cost me a staggering €1,500. In total, I lost over €2,000 due to their negligence.
When I tried to file a claim, Galdierient's customer service was completely unresponsive. I am considering legal action and would appreciate any advice on how to proceed.

I am writing to express my deep frustration and disappointment with the service my family and I received from your Olbia location. We booked a car in advance, expecting a smooth start to our holiday, but what transpired was nothing short of a nightmare.
Upon arriving at Olbia Airport, within an hour of our flight landing, we were informed that our booking had been mysteriously cancelled. No explanation was provided, and the only vehicle available was a 9-seater, which was completely unsuitable for our family of four with two young children and luggage. The stress of being stranded outside your tiny office in the parking lot, in the rain, for over four hours was overwhelming and completely ruined the start of our holiday.
To make matters worse, the lady who served us, Sylvia, was incredibly rude and aggressive. She even swore at us in Italian. When we asked why our booking was cancelled, her sarcastic response was, “Don’t know – magic.” She refused to contact her manager or the third-party supplier your agency works with, leaving us completely ignored and without any assistance to resolve the situation.
We have traveled extensively around the world and have never encountered such disrespectful and unprofessional behavior. Sylvia’s actions were not only offensive but also demonstrated a complete lack of understanding of what customer service should be.
This experience has not only tarnished our view of GaldieriRent but has also caused immense stress and ruined the beginning of what was supposed to be a dream holiday. We demand an immediate explanation for the cancellation of our booking, a formal apology for the appalling treatment we received, and compensation for the inconvenience and distress caused.
I look forward to your prompt response and resolution to this matter.

I booked through Discover Cars and paid for full insurance coverage. After taking the shuttle from Venice airport, upon collecting the vehicle, the lady told me that the car insurance I paid for was not proper and doesn't cover everything and I would be liable for much more damage. She told me if anything were to happen to the car, I would need to pay first and later get reimbursed from Discover Cars which could take up to 6 months to get my money back. She then told me that I should take the additional insurance with them. Mind you I had already paid 280 Euro's for my car rental and 80 Euro's for the full insurance from DIscover Cars pre-booked and paid. And she further told me it was extra 31 Euro's per day for the extra CDW and scared me into taking it. I was then charged 264 Euro's EXTRA on top of what I had already paid to Discover Cars just so I had extra insurance which was a tactic to scare me and scam me for more money. ABSOLUTELY scammed me and used scare tactics to try and make money off you even though you already had pre-bought insurance when you booked the car. AVOID this place AT ALL COSTS.

I strongly recommend looking elsewhere for a rental in Rome. This experience was a complete waste of time.
I emailed the company days before my booking to notify them that my flight time had changed and to request an updated pickup time, as their own instructions suggested. When I arrived at the adjusted time, I was told my reservation had been marked as a no-show because they hadn’t checked their emails. To make matters worse, their shuttle buses were incredibly slow, and I waited 30 minutes at the store before anyone assisted me.
When I finally spoke to someone, she informed me that I needed an international driver's license—something that was not mentioned in any of their emails. I even showed her the email proving this, but instead of helping, she simply told me to file a complaint with customer service. She didn’t even hand back my documents, leaving them carelessly on her desk. Her attitude was rude, and she seemed entirely uninterested in assisting me.
The only positive part of the experience was the male employee who at least showed some empathy and suggested that I try Avis at the airport. If you're looking for transparency and decent customer service, do yourself a favour and avoid this place.

Nothing short of disgusting service and vehicle.
They left the car on a busy roundabout outside Naples airport, we had to do handover like that!!
The car was so badly damaged, the side panels of the whole one side were smashed from an accident.
They didn’t give instruction on how to drop car off. It was chaos to arrange.
We ended up doing the car return in the same way we took collection - on the side of a crazy busy road, with another incredibly chaotic hand over.
Rude, shocking quality, badly organised. Just horrific - Just pay a bit more to avoid this company

just back from my Tuscan trip
i have booked several times with a company in Rome Fiumicino.
but that is above all!!
after a long wait and not being allowed on the shuttle (1 hour wait) you arrive at their office.
be prepared to wait another hour.
all your previous colleagues have problems everywhere.
the person before me had to pay 300 € extra because he was in the office an hour later to pick up the key.
also because he was not allowed on the shuttle.
in addition he had also booked two high chairs with the reservation.
but they cannot offer this in this office.
you will have to find a solution for this yourself.
the answer was we can not check all orders to see if there are any strange things in them.
although this can simply be booked via the site.
until I had been queuing for one hour he was still on the phone with the head office to explain that they could not foresee this and still had to pay 300 € extra.
finally it is my turn.
all in all quite smooth check-in (45 min) to just fill in your details.
and to tell you nicely that your car is not there correctly but you have another one (not mentioned in words, but to downgrade).
After you have lost almost 3 hours you give up the discussion and let it happen.
Probably the strategy behind this company.
I came from Centauro Malage where you can enter all your details digitally in advance via an app. get the key out of the cupboard and you can leave.
the difference in service and time, they didn't even say a word for such a difference.
Oh yes when handing over the key you are told smoothly.
Your car is completely empty, you better fill it up as soon as possible because you won't get far anymore.
the documents say full to full. so please fill it up.
where the person in charge grabs the key and drives to the nearest gas station with screeching tires.
another 10 minutes can be added. because it wasn't far. the entire course you could follow by the driving style of the screeching tires.
you have the free choice.
but my advice is, look further for a next rental service.
because this will definitely not make you happy.

I forgot an item in the rental car in Catania this monday (5/8) and talked to your colleague on the phone tuesday who told me to write my information in whatsapp. I did that and I have tried calling 20 times without anyone answering the phone or my messages in whatsapp. Can someone from your staff please reach out to me.

Your staff has been in contact with me and sent me a picture of the wrong hat even though I two times sent a picture of my hat from the rental car - documenting that I forgot it in the car. It’s very hard to get in touch with you. I will change my review if you actually manage to help me but you have not yet succeeded in helping me find my lost item.

Naples airport - Giovanna was the most helpful person we have ever met! This is a genuine review from a customer that was apprehensive about foreign rentals. We were well looked after, the car was as described and reliable and the deposit was returned in a few days after we returned it in good condition :)

I had the WORST experience ever with Galdieri Rent BOLOGNA. First I had to call twice for the pick up shuttle which took more than 45 minutes, but this I accepted without any problem.
Hwoever, when I received the car I pointed out that 390 km probably was not a full gas tank, but Galdieri personnel insisted that this was full indeed and normal for this car. I returned the car with more than 500 km !!! still in the gas tank, which proved that they had not given me correct information. I then assumed that the extra gas I put in would be MORE than enough. Boy was I wrong.
When I got to the airport I received a mail saying :
"We are writing this email to inform you that as shown in the attached picture, you have left the car not fully tanked so we are going to charge you 56,83 euro".
WITHOUT picture. I called the office back to explain what happened and to ask to verify with their personnel but they would not do so and were more than happy to invoice me extra.
This is clearly CHEATING on people!
So I will NEVER again rent a car with Galdieri rent and would advise everyone NOT TO DO this.

Rented a Lancia Ypsilon from these morons on 6 June 2024 from their location in Fiumicino. When I got in the car, I noticed that the mirrors and the dashboard were covered with cacked on dirt, fine I wiped those clean. As we drove across Italy to the Adriatic coast the windshield needed cleaning (strike 2) so a went to use the wipers, no fluid came out, the reservoir was dry! About 5 days into the vacation my wife noticed the oil light came on so I checked the level and the dip stick was dry! I called the office and was told to get a liter and add it-I’m not your mechanic! Took the car to a mechanic, he confirmed the oil was low. He added 1 ½ litres in order to wet the dip stick less that half way. He also noticed that that the engine coolant reservoir was EMPTY! So, he added water to that! Few days later, my cousin noticed oil stains on the driveway, SO the next morning I returned to the mechanic. He put the car on the hoist to check for leaks, fortunately there were none, but we did notice that the steel belt was exposed on the driver’s side tire! There was no tread left! I had driven over 300 kilometres with my wife and grand daughter in the back seat. That tire could have blown causing potential life ending consequences. Another fortunate circumstance was that this mechanic sent me to a tire shop where the tire was replaced with “good” used tire. In all I was out € 55 and two half days of my vacation.
Upon returning the car, I was met with indifference. The manager, whose name I did not get, told me that the car was due for an oil change anyways (car had 28,000 km on it) and therefore it was no big deal that almost 2 litres of oil was missing. That because the tire was worn on the inside, they were not responsible since it was not easily noticed??? And what about the coolant and windshield fluid levels? It became obvious that they Do NOT preform any maintenance checks between rentals, not even for the SAFTEY of their customers.
If it were possible to give a negative 5 star rating I would! Stay far away far these people!

Car pick up at Catania Airport took almost 1 hour. Car received was a Lancia Hybrid which was Ok until the hybrid system packed up and then more sensors started to break down. Was given option to have the car picked up and wait for another car or bring back to Palermo airport a distance of 150km (300km return). Took the latter and brought back car and then was charged 38 euro because car was not full of petrol on return. Explained that there was light that was on dashboard that said car would not restart if stopped so did not want to stop and refill. Shame we could not charged them for bringing car back because probably saved them money having to pick car up. And they should have waived fee. Next car was waiting and this performed really well for the time we had it.

Worst experience ever. Our flight was delayed, and we were stuck in the airport waiting over 45 minutes for bags. When we arrived at the office, they said we were over our grace period of 59 minutes and therefore we were no longer able to get the car from them, leaving us stranded in a foreign country at 10 pm at night with no transport. They refused to be lenient nor help us with any alternative. The staff were rude and unhelpful and It has now cost us several hundred pounds more to get an alternative, all because of a few minutes delay.

The price, the quality of car, the speed of deposit return, the staff. The key here is to ensure you fully inspect the vehicle. Take your time and photograph everything. Check the alloys and the walls of the tyres as mine had a cut which luckily I took an image of, but they were quick to find it on return. I know people commented here on speed of deposit. Mine was credited back in the account before the shuttle bus took us to the airport proving it's the banks that impact delays and not the rental company.

WORST COMPANY EVER.
1• Our flight left Milan late and we arrived to pick up the car 1h30 minutes after booking. We were charged a late fee.
2•The staff are extremely rude, they don't help you with anything and on top of that they treat you like trash.
3• After making us wait for 3 hours they told us that they could not rent us the car anymore because we did not have an international driver's license and only the USA driver's license.
