We were picked up by the shuttle bus who brought us to the car rental. Due to bagage lost we were an hour late but let them know by phone and was no problem. We got a brand new car, payed a little extra for full coverage so we had no worries but deliver back after our week with a full tank. Because my friend had a bad back, the owner of Galdieri Bologna brought us personally to the departure floor of the airport. We can only say, when in Bologna, we will pick this car rental. Thank you!

I had such a bad experience at Galdieri rent at Rome Airport. They wouldn’t hand over my keys claiming that I didn’t pickup the car within the 1hr window of the rental. This was despite the fact I’d waiting 45 minutes (!!) for their shuttle bus and tried to call 14 times (!!) with no answer. They informed me I needed to pay €100s to get my booking as I was late. Luckily I had booked via DiscoverCars who were fantastic and when I called them they transferred my booking to another car hire place and my problem was solved. But Galdieri rent are absolute scammers, avoid at all costs.

Rome. We were told that our rental was cancelled due to getting there 15 minutes late (we waited for THEIR shuttle for over 30 minutes!) They said we had to re-rent the car directly with them AND cancel our original booking! Didn't make sense. We were then charged €100 more than the original booking AND the cancellation refund never came through. It took hours actually to rent a car and they even asked us to take phone calls from the disgruntled customers who couldn't find the shuttle drop-off while we waited! CON MEN. AVOID.

Scamer ,very rude and dangerous behaviour if you do not buy extra protection at the desk they will try to find problems so you will not get the car.
I did have full protection however they were pushing
to buy extra protection saying I was not covered.
Go somewhere else. They did not give the car pretending full payment only by credit card only even only the deposit is required, which i did anyway.however never got the car and i was obligated with my kids to go back to the airport and look for a different provider.
Never use Galdieri at Bergamo Airport Orio as you will regret.they are scamers

My mother never got her deposit back!!
She rented the car in Olbia, personal is rude, overcharge everything, extra insurance etc.

Scamers and Thieves!. My husband paid before, have all documents per law of italy then after arrival to olbia asked for document which he doesn't need per law . Either they didn't mentioned its they special rule before money been proceed. As bonus Let as with little 7m baby suffer on airport as we been without transportaion! Told us they cannot rent us car as their rules and they send us refund BUT as we reach home justrecieved he not giving his money back as well. probably just because he is from Dubai they wanted scam him!!. We are awaiting your apologies and our money back or we will take further step!

The worst company I have ever dealt with.
They don't give you the car you expect and then tell you it's not their problem.
Asking for help with a problem doesn't solve it.
The employees are extremely unpleasant.
I would suggest avoiding this company.

We’ve had so many issues with Galdieri Rent and they cost us so much… almost 700€ total instead of 300€.
1. We were forced to pay 400€ on arrival for a damage insurance because we had a debit card instead of a credit card. We were not warned we would be forced to buy an insurance to get the car, which makes absolutely no sense.
2. Although we had been in touch with Galdieri Rent multiple times, nobody warned us the check out place was far from the airport (by foot). We had to pay 20€ for an Uber.
3. There was just a little bit less fuel than a total refill (because we, naturally, had to drive to the rental place). They charged us an extra 42€ for it, while the refill would have cost only a FEW euros. We had pictures to prove it.
We saved money for a long time for our trip, and having to spend an extra of almost 500€ pretty much ruined it. I don’t understand… why? How can they sleep at night knowing they rob *hundreds* of euros to people who may not have much money? This is just horrible.

Trying to reserve an automatic car.
Their website has cars listed as "automatic" but labels them manual.
Calling the agency, which basically said that even if you ask for one, they cannot guarantee it, even though I had not gotten into the details of specifying a particular date.
Upon insisting how this is possible, they effectively said they couldnt be bothered and hung up.
Alternatively one can interpret the interaction as extremely poor command of English.

I rented at Marco Polo Airport in Venice now 3 times, and my overall experience is great. The shuttle leaves frequently in both direction (2-min walk from the airport at parking no. 5), and as a returning client, my check-in times are very quick. Cross-border fee is reasonable as well, what makes it an even better experience. Overall, like with any car rental, it is advised to make pictures of the car, and they also tell you to do so. Once I was asked about for a scratch where we then looked at pictures. In general, they are reasonable with their visibility check when the car is returned.

wow.....what a team of rip off merchants....arrived 1 hr late because of Italys international customs and th guy said we had to re book at current rates, even though we had booked months previous....scam!!!! then stated even though we had credit card insurance because we did not have an international drivers licence we had to take out there insurance,. never heard of this before...backward and will scam u out of anything, exp if your a family at 8pm on a Friday nite...so dissapionted.

Very disappointing. They refuse to remove the reservation for the deposit from my creditcard after the hire. Several times they promised to remove it, but they never did.
So I have a reservation of 1200 euro's on my creditcard for probably 30 days, because then this ends automatically.

- According to the initial document, there was no damage. We came to the car and there was a HUGE damage on the roof ("someone must have climbed over the fence", nice lie). The metal was bent next to both wheels. We took many photos of that. We missed one small scratch, for which we were later scammed for. 260€.
- We waited 1 hour for the rental, then 20 minutes for our car to be unblocked (another car needed to be reparked, also a reason we couldn't take enough photos).
- We paid 20€ for add blue, which is literally a scam. (Not mentioned anywhere).
- We got absolutely NO answer for our complaints.
- Avoid at all cost.
Edit: you are right about the add blue. The 20 additional euros were the tax. I still find it deceiving, because in the mail, it was clearly written, that I will pay some price at the desk and then I paid a different price:

We had a very good experience both from the staff members from the vehicle itself and from the shuttle service to the location they really solved our problems and helped us even I lost my driver's license card if they found creative ways to help me which no other company would have helped me I have no doubt that if I go back and rent a car in Venice I will rent from them, of course the price was also excellent

Terrible experience...Personnel didn't even showed us where our rented car is nor its basic functions....In addition, after one month we still haven't received back the deposit paid for the car and they ignore any email sent to them....stay away!

As far as our refund concerns, the case has been forwarded to the European Consumer Centers Network (ECC-Net), as the employees there, were continuously ignoring our emails and didn't want to cooperate by giving us information regarding the transaction number.
