Galdieri find hidden damages to charge you

First of all, in their web they say Palermo airport but is like 10 km away. Today 14 of April I gave back at Palermo a Tcross after 3 days of rent. They found, rarely fast, a small damage under the car that I am completely sure I have not made. 414€. If you hire an insurance with other company do not tell them. I am sure that they will not repair this scarf and charge 414€ to customer after customer.

The office, as specified on all platforms, is located outside the airport and we offer a free shuttle service.
The operator, at the time of picking up the car, accompanied you to do the damage check and the one charged was not present on the front bumper.
It is our concern to have the damage repaired.

Everything went very smoothly!!!

Everything went very smooth.
We rented a car from Venice airport, the staff was very professional and helpful so will use GaldieriRent again.
The car was new and we had our own full insurance. They were ok with that.
Also we requested a cross border to Croatia and everything was ok.

Don't use

Arrived approx. 2 hours late from plane, had to walk approx. 30 mins from airport to get to the office - said they couldn't refund the money from original booking and now had to pay €179.67 to rent one (originally £30).

The worst experience in my life

The worst experience in my life. The car I received later turned out to have completely worn out tires. While renting the car, I repeated many times that I was going to the mountains to Livigno. Despite the fact that, as it later turned out, my car was not equipped with chains. To be honest, I'm glad to be alive, the car just rolled down the hill without any controlI almost ended up in the hospital because the car had bald tires and rolled down the hill It is inconceivable that the car was not equipped with chains, especially since I mentioned many times that I was going to the mountains.

Milan Rental

I rented a car in Milan, originally with another company but there was issues with my card and Galdieri really saved me! The WhatsApp number proved very useful and everyone there was very helpful with whatever I needed. I even accidentally left my glasses in the car and Michael, who was working at the desk that day responded quickly to my messages and she my glasses to the shuttle driver to bring to the airport for me. Thank you!

I rented a car in Rome,I will not lie, I thought this was a scam. However, I was treated with nothing but respect. You need to follow the instructions. I rented through DoYouItaly and was treated with nothing but respect. The car was a little beat up, was not clean, and had no spare. Being an American I was like....This is a scam. My son videoed the entire car to make sure. I was very happy to be wrong this was a legit rental.

I rented a car from Venice airport with Galdieri rent, everything was clear, quick, simple and efficient. I was served by a lady named Tatiana, very helpful and patient in explaining everything in addition to trying her best to support to meet the client's expectations. It is nice to have those experiences during the travel stress.

Forced upselling 6x more costly

EDIT (after their reply): I’m posting their email to me, where they DO NOT state the need for an international permit. In other words, they had ample opportunity to let me know about it, since I had written to them and asked. Hope they care to address this oversight on their part. And the fact that I would be covered by my insurance coverage even without their expensive coverage, which was forced upon the rental. Still feeling ripped off.

They made it impossible to retrieve the car without their full insurance - and the reservation ended up costing 6x more!

I made a booking to retrieve a car in Malpensa Airport for two weeks commencing on Dec 12.

Before traveling, I emailed Galdieri to confirm the necessary documentation. In written, they told me I needed my passport, a Visa or MC credit card and my driver's license. That was all I needed.

At pick up counter I was told by their employee that I absolutely needed an international permit. I mentioned the email from Galdieri to no avail.

BUT... the employee was willing to rent me the car if I took their full insurance... even without the international permit. He said "his boss would be mad at him if he let me have the car without the full insurance."

The original reservation had cost 100 euro. The new reservation ended up costing me almost 600 euro!!

I was tired from a long international flight, my partner was feeling sick, and we had our small dog with us. I just accepted the new reservation.

I feel ripped off and taken advantage of. Not renting from them again.

Scam - Beware!

Venezia Fly Park - Galdieri Rental Cars

Unfortunately for the first time I can't recommend a rental car service.

They would not accept my Visa credit card as the numbers on the card were not raised and embossed. I've never experienced this before with countless other rental car services all around the world. Reasoning was "the deposit on the card wouldn't be possible" ..

Therefore they made me pay their own insurance, which was nearly 3 times the original price.

Funny thing was that they still could block 100 euros on my card and released them after more than 4 weeks later..

Please beware of this scam and stay away. For myself it was too late in that situation, but if just a couple of people read this review and stay away from this company, they might change their shady tactics after all

It was in fact a VISA credit card and was used as such in countless other situations like this before.

Also the blocking of the deposit worked, as everyone could see with the 100 Euros being blocked, so the statement of your employee was just plain out wrong.

I even offered to pick up the 800 euro at an ATM and leave it as a deposit.

And no, you didn't force me to pay the insurance, but being at your rental service away from the airport there was no other possibility to get another rental car service instead at that moment.

All in all just a very bad customer service and in hindsight (looking at some other reviews) probably a common approach to get more money after offering low fares initially.

The solution of inserting additional coverage is proposed exceptionally, to meet those who arrive without a credit card and can not provide us with the guarantees required for the rental, however, no customer is obliged to make the purchase.
In relation to the timing of unblocking the deposit, it should be noted that it depends on your credit institution and not on us. We hope there will be further opportunities for you to revise your judgment.

Low prices? - there is a catch

I booked them as they were ~14 Euros for a 3 day car hire. This was really cheap. There was a catch though.

When I arrived the car rental agency refused to accept deposits from the amex credit card that I used for the booking. They also refused my debit cards and cash. They said the only option was to pay 110 Euros (rather than 14) which is the high insurance option. They only send me a list of credit cards they accept when my plane was in the air so basically I had no chance. The list has weird restrictions like they will not accept credit cards without embossed numbers. You cannot use credit cards in the name of other people in your travelling party (only the person who's name is on the booking). You cannot use cash. You cannot use debit cards.

Their behaviour is consistent with a strategy where they post low prices to try to lock in someone and then jack up the price at a later point. I believe that this is their strategy - it explains the bizarrely restrictive list of cards they accept as well as the low advertised prices.

So anyway I refused the car and went with a competitor for 120 EUR. This was slightly higher than what they were trying to make me pay but I dont want to do business with companies like this and would worry if they might come up with when I returned the car.

Not good customer service

We rented our car in Naples at the railway. As they did not how our car at the railway we had to puck it up at the airport. At the time of the booking we asked if we can return our car at the airport as our flight was at 6 am. The Person helping us said it is okay. Today we called to ask of the location where ti drop of car tomorrow just to find out we cannot return that early as the office is closed. Also nobody speaks English. I would expect for such I popular destination city that there is some competent and educated Italians that can actually communicate in English? I guess not.. also when we go the car we went one day to Rome only ti get a warning signal that Ad Blue is empty. We had to purchase and refill full 10L of this ad blue. It was completely empty. We travel a lot and rent cars all the time but this is by far the worst company out there. The only helpful person in this company is Giovanna. She made somewhat situation better and helped resolve the issue as much as possible. She stayed passed 8 pm as we had to leave a car night earlier ( as in the morning we would not be able to and we would miss the flight), she spoke English, asked if we need her to call a taxi and also did the entire process fast. Big thanks to her. You should hire more workers like her as others are useless. You got a 2 star rating instead of 1 just because if her. She deserves a 5 but too many things were done wrong by others…

Car rental fraud

The customer service at this establishment is extremely unreliable. We returned the car on September 25th, but the refund has still not been processed. Every time we ask the on-site office manager for the transaction number of the refund, he abruptly hangs up the phone or responds in a very impolite manner. If you claim to have already processed the refund, please provide us with a transaction number so that we can track it with our bank.

Beware of scams

So many things are wrong with this place! If you book through a broker you get a better price, once you finally get to them (waited for a shuttle bus 45 min, called with no answer several times) they will try to find any problem to make you pat a much higher price to them directly talking unprofessionaly and horribly about brokers and how its not their problem or price. After an hour of back and forth we saw several cars being driven by staff as if it was a race track, cars are damaged and in overall bad condition, we eneded up leaving after they tried to charge us 250euros more than what we booked for. Would never never never recommend!

New car without any damages (Lancia Y 1.0, with less than 3'000 km on the odometer). Clean vehicle, nice staff. Speedy service, except for their shuttle service from VCE to their rental station in Tessera. It took one hour, despite of five phone calls ( in Italian :-). On returning the car, the shuttle back only took ten minutes. As their rates are very competitive, they deserve five stars iin spite of the waiting time on our arrival when seven of their customers had to wait for one hour...

I reserved a car online on your…

I reserved a car online on your website, had a confirmation by email with all the information, all seemed to be good until one day before my flight to Milano.
As I was traveling with a child, an autistic one I might add, I wanted to fill in the paperwork just so that I don't need to wait to much at the desk but surprise, I couldn't find my booking anymore.
I received a phone number from some chat help that didn't work, after that I called the number I had in my email with the confirmation of the reservation. The guy I spoke to on the phone seemed like he had no idea how to do his job, had no explanation why I no longer had a confirmed booking and probably to get rid of me on the phone asked me to send the information via wassup. After I sent everything nobody ever replied, and never picked up the phone again.
My advice for the company is to hire decent people and just give a honest explanation for their mess.
