Worst commercial error

Purchased during the black friday, paypal debit, key received overnight, I was happy but it was very short lived.

Purchase canceled first without any notice of reason of the site, then half a day after an email that warns me that the purchase is canceled and that I will be refunded. The price announced on their site was after the mail a "mistake", I do not see why they do not assume it totally then?

I just have the right to say nothing and go back to the site with a -25% code but the refund of the purchase will take several days ... I did not want to refund but my game for which j I lost 3h on the overloaded site.

So if I summarize, 3h lost, 1 purchased, delivered and then canceled by force, this is the worst buying experience on a key site I could live!

Personally I would never again make a purchase on this site!

(Sorry for my bad english)

Hi Christophe,

We're really sorry for this situation. Unfortunately we're only human beings and mistakes like this happen sometimes. We know a discount code won't fully compensate this situation, but that's at least what we can do. Once again sorry about that.

No Customer Support

Bought a game bundle from them and the steam key I got didn't unlock everything in the bundle. Contacted Steam and Steam told me to contact Games Republic. Sent 2 emails to Games Republic and haven't gotten a response back.

Hi Darius,

Can you clarify why the game doesn't work? Did you receive your Steam key for the game? Did the key didn't work on Steam? Or is it a technical issue with the game that doesn't allow you to play it?
If it's a problem with your key you bought in Games Republic, please contact us at support@gamesrepublic.com. If it's a technical problem with the game please refer to this article https://support.gamesrepublic.com/games-related-issues,my-game-doesnt-work-what-can-i-do,35

The Underdog of Digital Retail Stores But Well Worth Looking At

For anyone that didn't know this, GamesRepublic is the store front for 11 bit Studios, the developer of the Anomaly series, This War of Mine and the upcoming FrostPunk. For anyone that has been following the Indie scene to any degree, you've probably heard of them. I only found the store by sheer luck and accident but am glad I did.

GamesRepublic has a very clean and easy to navigate website with very warm colors and everything has its place. They also have a fairly wide variety of games for sale ranging from a few obscure Indie titles all the way up to many of the latest AAA releases. That's not to say that they have a massive selection (being a much smaller store than something like Humble Bundle or Indie Gala), but they definitely have enough to be competitive and appealing to many gamers.

Their prices are not always the best, though, depending on region and publisher. I've noticed that several Square Enix titles are actually higher priced than they are elsewhere, but that may not be their fault since publishers can affect prices. But to counter this point, they consistently have great sales and offer an excellent affiliate program for Youtubers, streamers and other gaming content creators (15% back off of all purchases through affiliate links is not too shabby at all, if I must say so). They also have great customer service and seem to take feedback from their users to heart.

If there's one complaint I do have with the site, it's that it's sometimes hard to distinguish DRM free versions and Mac and Linux versions of games from regular sales. Also, there are region locks for several titles that, if you're not paying close attention to, could become a problem, especially if you are purchasing gift copies for friends in a different region. Maybe offer a warning or something when gifting about just that?

Overall, when I have the extra money to purchase new games, GamesRepublic has become my first stop because I think these guys need more exposure.

Very bad the worst experience in my life

I wanted to buy and download a game from games republic the site looks very professional and legit but i really regret for not doing any research about this site since i did not know anything about it so i instantly register an account and made a payment through my paypal and actually bought the game all quick and easy and then a page opens saying thank you for your order your transaction is processing this may take a few "Minutes"
As the biggest surprise of my life as for now its already 10 hours passed and my transaction is still processing in the meanwhile i did already send them an email which i got no answers i don't even know if anybody works in that company i don't even know if im going to get my game or not but even if i get it this is the worst website to buy games i would rather buy direct from steam for the full price or even pay extra to not deal with situations like this one again !

EDIT: So after hours and hours of waiting they finally emailed me that my order is cancelled waste of time i do not recommend this website for any purchases by far the worst experience

Hi Nicholas,

We're really sorry to hear you have those issues. I've checked with our support and you received a reply within less than 24 hours.
Your purchase has been put on hold by our anti-fraud system because the postal code you provided was incorrect. Within few days your bank will unlock the funds on your account - that depends only from your bank not from us, as we didn't receive the money.

Some good deals, low sense of professionalism.

I saw a good deal today, so I signed up to take advantage of it. After some experience with the site, I'd rather not come back. When you sign up for Games Republic, they give you a 10% discount code which sounds great and I wasn't expecting. However, in the fine print they mention that you can't use it on all purchases. As far as I know, they also don't actually tell you what games for which you can actually use the code to get a discount, so at this point I'm guessing you can't use the code for games on sale or it's just trial and error to actually get a discount which seems kind of silly.

But that's just a minor technicality, right? Here's where it gets weird: while randomly browsing the site I checked out the page for submitting indie games to them. It looks pretty cool, until the very bottom where it says this: "DOWNLOAD OUR SUPER-SLICK PRESENTATION FOR INDIE DEVS,
AND SEE HOW YOU CAN SUCCESEED [sic] WITH GAMES REPUBLIC!". I can't tell if that's a joke I'm missing out on or they actually made that typo.

And it gets worse: at the bottom of their emails they have the line for their support contact address that looks like this: "Should you have any questions or problems, please contact us at (it won't let me show the address, but they actually spelled "suport" with just one p)". Yeah, that email doesn't actually exist; support has two p's in it, not just one. Trying to email the link they provide returns with an error, so I had to double-check and realize that they'd made a mistake and manually change it to their correct support email. Not exactly the greatest customer service experience I've had.

I don't use discount sites very often, so maybe this is par for the course, I really couldn't tell you. I'm glad for the deal and the free game they give to new users, but I'm thoroughly unimpressed by the site. Maybe you're just stopping in for a minute to grab a deal and you don't care about these things, but there are people who DO care, and they're not going to want to keep shopping on a site that doesn't even send you an accurate support email. A little quality control goes a long way.

This ain't Steam but has great deals and a few gems

From time to time, I'm expanding my collection of games and there is Games Republic, a marketplace I've looked up on ISAD (gamers will know). Thanks to you guys, I've managed to get some really nice games for a nice price and the best thing is, you have some pretty cool pixel-art games exclusively. I've never encountered any problems (ain't using any script/ads blocking software), keep up good deals anyway!

Server errors

I've managed to pay for games but cannot redeem them on Steam because the My Games page loads endlessly. Why I couldn't be emailed my codes, I've no idea.

There's a pop-up in the corner reminding me to create a password for my account. Are my codes being held hostage until I do that?

It doesn't make a difference because if the Settings page ever does load (Chrome has to be told to wait, not kill the request many times before the page eventually loads), the 'create password' form doesn't do anything. An AJAX loader pops up when I try to set a password bu the request returns a 503 server error eventually.

Now what?

EDIT: managed to trick the site in to letting me set a password by trying and failing to log in, requesting a password reset and establishing it that way. Finally logged in, clicked "my orders" with a view to claiming my Steam keys and it sends me to the site's homepage.

EDIT #2: logged out to start fresh; was told I couldn't log in for another three hours.

EDIT #3: still logged out, navigated to /user/mygames/ anyway and got to see my logged-in screen anyway. By that I mean the tab "My Games" with a 2 next to it (indicating the game I bought + the one they made me buy to invalidate my 10% off code) and an endlessly animating AJAX loading gif which _still_ hides my Steam code from me.

Is this website a scam? Has anybody ever bought and received something from these people?

Great but ONE slight problem

Registered fast, encountered no problems, got my promo code and free game, bought my game through paypall without hassle. However, I was slightly disappointed that I couldn't use my 10% off code for my purchase, but the site did a good job of explaining that I was buying two games at once and it only worked if I bought one game. But it must be said, the free game promised was added to the cart without my consent so in my cart I had the game I wanted and the free promised game, making it so that I couldn't use the 10% off on my first purchase. I hope GamesRepublic will still allow me to use my 10% off code on my next purchase even though it won't count as my FIRST purchase. Because this did seem weird and slightly unfair. BUT I got my game either way.

Hi Andrei,

Thanks for your review, happy to hear you like Games Republic.
As to the issue with the discount code you mentioned, there might be to reasons for that. One, you bought the game via our affiliate i.e. IsThereAnyDeal or CheapShark or GameWatcher or other, and the codes work only on main shop (www.gamesrepublic.com). Two, the game you tried to buy didn't work with the discount code, as some of them are excluded from this promotion.
Either way this should be explained to you, why the code didn't work. We'll fix it.
And the 10% code should work on your next purchase. If not, contact us via Facebook or Twitter and we'll get you a new one.

Happy to use & recommend the website!

Games Republic have a great-looking website, they seem to have a big catalog and carry many good titles, their prices are nice, and purchases are processed immediately. Whenever I am looking to buy a particular game, I check if Games Republic carry it.

Diamond in the Rough

I just signed up for Games Republic. They gave me a free Anomaly Warzone game and a 10% discount code (woohoo!). The code didn't work with the game I wanted to buy and I didn't get my preorder's code until the day after it came out. When I complained via email they graciously apologized for the delay and gave me the game I ordered for free. I am now a happy satisfied customer and I will likely shop at Game Republic again.

One final note, the customer support link on their website is actually just an email like. They have no phone number or other way of contacting them. They got back to me in about 24 hours though.

Hi Brian,

As for the 10% discount code, it works with most games in our catalogue, but some of them are excluded.
We don't have a phone number for the support but you can reach us via our Facebook page or Twitter, aside of e-mail.
