I have been with GA Pawnbrokers for over 20 years, back when it was a tiny one man family-run.business with one member of staff.
Over the years, every single person I’ve dealt with has been wonderful — they genuinely feel more like old friends than staff. The current manager, Steve (not so new, but following on from the previous manager), is absolutely fantastic. He has helped me out on more than one occasion when I needed a bit of extra time to pay, and he’s not just a great manager but a genuinely kind and understanding person.
All of the staff are friendly, non-judgemental, and incredibly helpful. Everyone there is willing to go above and beyond to support their customers.
They also offer excellent prices for gold, silver, and jewellery. If you’re not selling and simply need a little extra money, pawning jewellery is straightforward and fair. You receive a good price, and if the repayment feels a bit too much, you can always request a smaller loan.
There’s no endless paperwork, no budget forms, no credit checks, and none of the usual hoops you have to jump through with high street or online lenders. You can repay within the agreed time period, with no penalties for paying early, and if you’re struggling, you have the option of paying just the interest.
All in all, I would happily recommend this pawnbrokers to anyone. Just pop in and see for yourself.

This was my first time in a pawnbrokers and the staff could not have been more helpfull.
Natalie and Zoe served me and were very careing and I was amazed as to how much my few bits of jeweller were worth, these had been in my jewellery box for years and not worn and gold so decided to part with them. I thought I would get about £500 to £1000 but when they said it was over £1500 I must admit I cried as to how much I got.
I also took some silver in boxes and they weighed it and gave me a price but also advised I might get more if I took them to an antique shop to see if I got more which was lovely of them.
I would go back again as it was easy to sell things and I would recomend this shop.

We have visited this shop a few times whilst enjoying our day trips to Hastings.
Steve is always dressed emaculatly, presents himself very professionally and is very protective of the shop whilst going over and beyond to assist. Will definitely be visit the shop again.

Went into store to sell some gold, met Ross who was very friendly, informative and helpful. The transaction was dealt with efficiently and the money was in our account the same afternoon.
I would recommend highly.

Steve was fantastic, I’ve never been into a pawnbrokers before & it was totally not what you think! I brought in a gold bar that I wanted to advance some cash on for a week , I got an amount they would advance , the interest rate & what it would cost me for a week & if I didn’t pick it up for 6. It was cheaper than getting the cash out of my credit card, for the 7 days I needed the cash but obviously 6 month worked out a lot more. But short term advance was really good & easily sorted all in 15 mins!!

Always a pleasure to visit Hove Branch in George Street. Excellent customer service, fair prices and i wouldnt trust anyone else with my jewellery when it needs repairing i did once go elsewhere and i immediately regretted it and had to take it to gold arts to sort out the mess. Dealt with the manager today who is super friendly welcoming and very fair, even putting up with my noisey 2 frenchies who he made of fuss off. Well done gold arts youve got a superd team run by a superd manager 10 out of 10 to you all!!!
