Hi lily bulbs
Hi
Just received my order for 20 lilybulbs from Garthwaite nurseries unfortunately all 20 bulbs where squeezed into one very small and very thin cardboard box. When I opened the box nearly all the lilies had been damaged.Tried phoning several times but off course no answer. This has happened before but thought I’d give them another chance should have known. I will definitely not be ordering anything else. Not a reliable seller!
Bought in good faith 1st may 2024 3…
Bought in good faith 1st may 2024 3 foxtail bulbs ( WHITE ) the listing stated on eBay £14.99 . flowers starting coming through and they are orange,I only have white flowers in my garden so very disappointed ☹️. Have contacted Garthwaite nurseries through eBay and absolutely no response!! Sadly eBays money guarantee policy is only for 30 days and obviously these where planted in may so no refund and as the company can't be bothered to contact me back and offer me replacement/ refund iv lost the money. DON'T use a company with poor to no customer service!!
Crooks
I bought 100 daffodil bulbs last September on eBay.
They trade under the name bulb1.
Only a few have come up and those that have have come up blind.
I have sent two emails via eBay and another direct. eBay have also written to him. No response.
When I telephoned the landline I was transferred to a mobile and he cut me off. When I rang again he was having his car service and was extremely abrupt saying their were no messages outstanding and that he would ring me back in an hour. He never did. Now when you ring, after a long wait a recorded message says they are not taking phone calls due to illness in the family and gives an email address. We have listened five times now and cannot comprehend what it is even though it was spelt.
The feed back recently on Trustpilot and eBay shows how bad they are.
This is a company to be avoided.

More emails but no response.
eBay are still letting them trade.
Lots of nice-looking bulbs promptly…
Lots of nice-looking bulbs promptly delivered. So far so good.
Astilbes not great
I ordered two astilbes. One started to grow the other was way behind. I contacted the company to be told to be patient. I was patient. Eventually they both flowered for ONE DAY and then went brown. Despite watering when hot and feeding once a week. I have tried to contact the company three times with no response.
Bad experience
Ordered 1 litre pot of Lily of the Valley, arrived in a bashed box (no fragile sticker), inside we found a water logged, dead plant, two dead, crushed leaves, that came away with a light touch, as they were rotten. Tipped contents of pot onto cardboard to find three bulbs, all with limp, rotten, tops. We have wasted £13.49. We have contacted the company but judging by other comments are not hopeful of getting a refund. Please do not buy from this company. I would have bought from a nursery directly, but couldn’t find anyone who sold them in my area. Update: I received an email saying the ‘plant wasn’t sent out like that’ and could I send back the two dead leaves by RM second class post for them to issue a refund. I’m not sure if it’s a wind up or not? Really? Send two dead leaves back to them in order to get my money back!!! I sent them a video of the dead plant with rotten leaves, after I’d literally just opened the parcel. I emailed to query return of the two dead leaves and got a reply to say yes, but now they wanted me to send them second class, signed for mail. Got the distinct impression they are just taking the mick and no refund will be forthcoming. This is the calibre of the business we are dealing with here. It would appear all the reviews about the terrible customer service are true. I’ve just looked at the ‘nursery’ on Google maps. Every picture tells a story, as they say. It consists of some racks of plants, like the ones outside supermarkets, on, what looks like an old petrol station forecourt, at the side of the road and is very small and quite scruffy looking. Sort of explains it all really.
Disappointed in bulb quality on receipt…
Disappointed that 4 out of 15 galtonia bulbs purchased on line last month are not in usable condition ie soft , rotting Hopefully the others will be fine
Misleading ad
Misleading ad, eBay agreed and kindly paid return postage as Nursery refused to. Rude reply from Nursery.
Non existant customer service, wrong order sent, totally useless!
Bought some Netty's Pride lillies back in April. They have only just flowered, and they are completely different to what I ordered. They are pink 45cms instead of white and black 100cms. Bought through Ebay, have messaged twice, no reply, can't leave feedback as left it too long, Ebay has advised me to open a case through Trading Standards UK. Don't buy from this company, they are useless, can't even get an order right, customer service is non existant!
Excellent Company & Customer Service
Received my bulbs 3 weeks ago and very impressed with both the items and customer service some of the best lilies I have ever had, needed some clarification which was immediately forthcoming so will most certainly be buying from this company again
Avoid
Ordered some bulbs. Arrived but no instructions. Note included said "over to you ". Basically saying they are no longer responsible. No replies to emails. Bought through Amazon. Do not waste your money. Rude.
Poor product quantity
Over the years I have had great success from bulbs, tubers and bare roots bought online. Unfortunately not from the bare roots I received from Garthwaite Nurseries, whose variable quantity was seen when growing or not growing roots in identical carefully prepared pots, been an environmental scientist I can say it conclusively proved some of their stock was not of suitable quality to grow. Unfortunately unlike other suppliers customer service and belief in quality it was not present in this case, so all I can to others thinking of buying, don't waste your money and buy else were. I rarely write one star reviews, but quality of product and service prevented a glowing 5 stars this time.
Christmas wreaths artificial
Just took delivery of three artificial wreaths for family graves.
Very pleased with them , they look beautiful.
Good customer service too. Returning my telephone call even though it took them ages to get through to me as I was on a call.
Second time using and would recommend.
Unusually high quality Calla Lilies.
Over the years, I have purchased many Calla Lilies. Many from China, usually 1cm square, taking several years to grow prior to flowering. I have obtained many from the UK. Most cases, the 'bulb' has been allowed to generate the flower shoot, then split, meaning that they grow and flower in the first year, but as the bulb is too small, in my opinion, they then take 3 years to recover. To the point. Through Amazon, Garthwaite sent me several bubs that were huge. Although the bulbs were more expensive, the displays have been outstanding and I have to re-pot. Not a problem as far as I am concerned, a superb product. I have never seen flowers like them. I just need to look at the entire selection now. Happy to supply the order numbers if required.
