Darren from Gas Assist arrived very promptly to survey and offer a quote for fitting a new boiler in a new position. He was organised, pleasant, informative and thorough. He was able to print me off a quote there and then and happy to leave that with me to mull over. The quote was competitive within the expected range: I am still waiting on receiving my final quote from another company, so as yet do not know if I will go ahead with Gas Assist, or another. Very good.

This has been a very difficult review to write. I'm conscious of the impact a bad review can have on a company - and everyone has already had a difficult couple of years. Most of the people I have come into contact with at Gas Assist were hard working, professional and polite. However, I encountered significant problems with a boiler installed at my 84 year old dad's house which resulted in 4 weeks of terrible upheaval for him. I feel strongly that if the people at the top had instructed for the issues to be sorted correctly initially, instead of rushing and trying quick fixes (because they were too busy installing other boilers), things wouldn't have escalated as they did and I wouldn't be writing this review.
After the initial new boiler fix my dad was left with no water in his upstairs toilet, a faulty shower, carpets not put back correctly, left debris etc. I very quickly had contact from Gas Assist saying the whole fix was unacceptable plus the boiler hadn't been fitted correctly for margins to validate its warranty, so the whole thing would need to be ripped out and refitted. I understand that mistakes happen, we're all human. Although this was a terrible inconvenience for my dad the problem had been picked up and was going to be rectified.
However, over the following 4 weeks my dad had nothing but trouble with his heating. Radiators weren't getting hot; his heating was going off leaving his home freezing. Knee jerk reactions resulted in electricians being sent twice to "fix" programmers that weren't faulty. My dad's heating failed 5 times in a 4 week period and when it was on, the radiators were just warming up slightly or not at all.
After doing some investigation I learnt the industry standard would be to run a "power flush" when fitting a new boiler to an existing system, this would clear any debris, pressure test for any leaks and help the general wellbeing of the heating system. Gas Assist decided not to quote for this "as it's expensive and costs £700" according to the MD (which is untrue). Perhaps this was partly my fault as their quote said "system cleanse" and I trusted them - I'm not a professional. They also didn't bleed the radiators or balance the system.
I think it's important to clarify that Gas Assist did sort the issues with my dad's toilet and shower - but these were problems caused by them.
I really hope that they have learnt from what happened at my dad's house. It's just a shame that the fact he was 84 and living in a freezing cold house, with an unfit heating system after spending over £3,500, didn't deem him to be a priority.
All of Gas Assists reviews are good, - perhaps I was unlucky? Their prices are also very competitive and they price match. So, my advice would be to proceed with caution, double check everything they are quoting for and ensure that your system is going to be power flushed, radiators bled and system balanced before they leave.

Quick response to my query for a quote, engineer very helpful, and rapid quote sent out.
Pleasant man came to do the survey
Pleasant man came to do the survey, regretfully I don't think he included all that needs to be done. The quote is very brief and does not price out the parts or labour charge.At £2750 just to fit a new boiler seems to me to be excessive. A new boiler priced from one of the local suppliers came out at approx £1000 so quite what the £1750 includes I have no idea.

Boiler Replacement Site Survey
So far I have only used Gas Assist for a Site Survey in order to obtain a quote for a boiler and cylinder replacement. Two engineers (Tom and Glen) arrived at the expected time. Both polite, courteous and first impressions were very good. They listened to my requirements and we then went around the house looking at the current installation. They made some suggestions for me to look into. A competitive quote was provided on the spot and they went through it before leaving. I received the quote over email within minutes. Good job.
