Embarrassment
Embarrassment, useless, waste of a company. Would give 0 stars if I could. Awful appliance + awful customer service + incompetent contracted service company makes for a miserable combination. Brand new fridge failed 2 times in as many months. Multiple services were just missed altogether and had to be rescheduled more than a week out each time. Save yourself the trouble and do not buy from GE. If they are able to finally fix my appliance (Big IF), I will be using it until it breaks again and then will be replacing with a different brand altogether as I never want to deal with this company or Bodewell ever again.
Never buy a GE product
New GE oven doesnt even work. A week and half already waiting for a part. Who knows when it will be fixed. In the meantime cant use the oven to cook anything. Total scam, and a nightmare. GE is the worst.
I do NOT recommend GE WASHER OR DRYER. After reading many reviews I recently…
After reading many reviews I recently purchased GE washer and dryer.
The washer fills to the same depth no matter the setting.
The bigger problem is the dryer. One set king sheets with small towel takes about 2 hours to almost dry. Had a tech come check it and they said nothing wrong. Also said GE model I bought is the cheapest of cheap. I should have kept my Kenmore.
They also stated they have many complaints similar to mine with no satisfaction.
I was told by GE that I would need ‘4’ appliance repair service appointments before GE would consider replacing the dryer. Of course with ‘nothing wrong’, all these appointments are paid for by me.
This is an expensive mess. I will never buy GE again. I hope at least one person will learn from my mistake.
Red flag if you work hard for your money STAY AWAY from GE
GE GPT225SGL2WW – A Complete Lemon. GE, Keep Your “Courtesy Call.”
We purchased the GE GPT225SGL2WW (Serial #: FZ608523K) in February 2024 and it’s been a disaster from day one.
The original unit couldn’t even be used because the spigot that connects to the tap was defective. GE said the part wouldn’t be available until September — for a brand new appliance. We pushed back, and they replaced it.
That replacement? It lasted less than 2 weeks before breaking down due to an internal fuse. We called for service — it was repaired. Three weeks later, it broke again — control panel issue. Another part had to be ordered. We waited weeks for another fix.
December rolls around: another failure. Another service call. Another technician visit. We were told, because of all the repeated issues, that GE would give us a 1-year warranty extension.
Fast forward to May 2025 — it breaks AGAIN. We try to book a service call and are told our warranty has “expired.” So much for standing by your word, GE.
We’ve had:
1 useless unit right out of the box
4 major failures in the replacement
Weeks without a functioning dishwasher
And a “courtesy service call” GE can stick where the sun doesn’t shine
Thankfully, I purchased an extended warranty through the store I bought it from — because if I had to rely on GE, I’d be completely out of luck. And yes — because this unit has needed three or more repairs, it’s officially considered a lemon under that policy.
I will continue to write reviews everywhere I can. People deserve to know that this product is unreliable, and GE’s customer service is empty promises, broken systems, and zero accountability.
Avoid GE. Avoid this model. Save yourself the time, frustration, and rage.
If I could give them zero stars I…
If I could give them zero stars I would! I bought a GE stove oven combo. It is a complete factory reject. If you use the oven the stove turns off, and you can’t use it sometimes for no reason at all the stove will turn off. can’t use it. The oven will turn off. You can’t use it. They’ve come out to fix it. Tell me they can’t fix it because it’s not happening while they’re there, yeah no da, but I’ve sent pictures videos right now. I think even the fans aren’t working for it. This has been the worst experience of my life. It’s a factory reject. They need to take it back and give me one that works properly that cost the same amount of money. i’m really tired of this. Send them out. They did nothing claimed it wasn’t under warranty. I had just bought it. Of course it was under warranty. We also bought the extended warranty. What a waste of money being that it can’t be fixed so my question is when are you replacing it
Disappointed in GE Washer and Warranty Support – Failed After Just 19 Months
purchased a GE front-load washer (model GFW550SPR4RS) in November 2023, expecting it to last for years. Unfortunately, the machine stopped working after just 19 months — well short of what I consider acceptable for a major appliance. Even more frustrating has been the experience with GE warranty support (Bodewell).
Despite being within the 10-year motor and lifetime tub parts warranty, I've been repeatedly given the runaround. Customer service is vague, unhelpful, and unwilling to provide clear answers about coverage. It feels like they’re hoping customers will just give up.
I don’t want to replace the washer — I just want a fair repair, but support has been minimal and dismissive. I expected better from a company like GE.
Advice to other customers: Be cautious about GE front-load washers and don’t assume the warranty will protect you beyond the first year. You may end up stuck with a broken machine and little help.
Bought a GE Opal 2 icemaker and it…
Bought a GE Opal 2 icemaker and it started making noise. It was less than a year old and they took it back. They lost the paperwork and told me it would be sent out last week. It took another week to ship it out and when I got it, it was completely damaged. Do not purchase GE products because they do not stand behind what they sell. They would not give me a refund and will not send FedEx here to pick up the damaged one, I have to take it to FedEx. This is ridiculous.
I purchased a front load washer dryer…
I purchased a front load washer dryer with steam and profile dishwasher in Feb 2020. The dishwasher was constant repair repair repair until it flooded my kitchen and cost me $$$ in kitchen repairs. It also stopped cleaning well after year #1. The dryers ignitor kept going out and I just gave up and junked it at year 4. And today the washing machine control panel went out at 5.5 years. I'm not fixing it. I took a sledge hammer to it. I won't even look in the direction of a GE appliances ever again.
Bodewell appiance care came my home may…
Bodewell appiance care came my home may 28 tech(herb) order parts said would return am June 10 never should up we called ge they reset appointment for June 12th bodewell didn’t have curtsy to call us totally unreliable.
GE - Bodewell You’ve been warned.
GE uses Bodewell as their service provider. Bodewell is Completely incompetent. Pathetic customer service. You will waste your time on each appointment, if they even show up.
You will get nothing but the runaround with excuses.
After 9 months and 5 appointments the appliance is still not fixed and GE could care less.
This is an expensive in warranty GE café appliance.
I will never in my life ever buy another GE appliance.
In fact I don’t even want Bodewell to ever come to my house again!
I’m done with them, completely done.
GE Profile Refrigerator Nightmare
We purchased a suite of GE kitchen appliances in May, 2018. We have had problems that required service and repairs on our GE Profile refrigerator, dishwasher and gas oven. The only appliance that has not required service or repairs is the GE Profile microwave.
But the worst of all has been our refrigerator model PYE22KSKISS. We have had this thing for 7 years now. In that time we have had to have four different service calls to address different issues with this refrigerator. During the most recent service call we were informed that the problem involved the cooling system which we could try to have repaired, but it would be very expensive and not worth it. We were further informed that the GE warranty that covers this issue has expired as it is a 5 year warranty and our refrigerator is now 7 years old.
After only 7 years and we now have to replace this GE Profile refrigerator because of the GE poor quality and very limited warranty. The fact that GE only warranties its cooling system components for 5 years rather than the 10 years that at least some other manufacturers warranty is very disappointing.
Our experience with GE has been a nightmare.
Do NOT purchase GE products. Service is a joke
This has become the worst company in terms of customer experience. It is now a nightmare to try and schedule a service cll since they went to this Bodewell company.
You now have to have separate accounts for both GE and Bodewell and their systems truly do no talk with one another
I would steer clear of purchasing GE products after this last experience
So disappointed of the experience using…
So disappointed of the experience using GE washing machine, the few months brand new machine has problem, the technician came to fix it and reported to the office and the GE just gave me and answer is "I misused and closed my case, they can't fix the machine and the GE washing machine has so big quality issus that they don't admit it and gave the that answer, just don't want to take the responsibility. Make me so uncomfortable to use this Brand anymore. It is a very bad quality brand "GE"
Horrible Warranty Experience
We bought a GE washer and dryer when we moved into our new home on May 24th 2024. In April 2025 we contacted GE warranty service because our dryer would suddenly stop heating up. A local service company came out and checked everything and said they couldn't find a problem. It seemed to work ok for a few more weeks and then around May 12, 2025, the dryer just stopped in a permanent pause mode and would do nothing. I went through all of the trouble shooting thins they suggested and they said the would send out someone to repair it. They came out and said they were ordering two parts. One was the control panel and I think a computer board. They said it would take a week to 10 working days for the part to arrive and they would come out and repair it. Two weeks later I called and they said one part came in and they were waiting to the control panel that should arrive shortly. Today May 27, 2025 I called and was told the part was on backorder until June 24th, then it needs to be shipped to repair service. I'm sure that will not arrive until the end of June or the 1st of July. This is absolutely unacceptable. Horrible customer service.
GE Dryer just not worth it.......
I bought a new GE clothes dryer with a 12 month warranty and the heating quit after only 17 months. It cost $700 plus tax to buy and will cost (as per estimate) $349 plus tax to fix it. C'mon GE, you can do better than that. If you can't make a dependable product, get out of the business. It is just not right to have to pay half the purchase price to fix a product after 17 months. Caveat Emptor......Buyer beware!
They offer a wide range of home…
They offer a wide range of home appliances, but the quality can sometimes vary. The customer service is normal.
My one year old GE industrial washing…
My one year old GE industrial washing machine took a crap last week. I called and scheduled a warranty repair a few days ago. Repair was scheduled for today between noon and 5 pm. I took the day off and patiently waited for the repair man. No show. I called him. No answer. I called GE back and was told I should have contacted the repair guy in advance and not taken the day off of work to wait for my scheduled appointment... Now the repair guy isn't coming at all, but he's supposedly ordering parts and may or may not be here next Friday.
Update 5/23/25
The repair guy didn't show up or call last Friday either. It is now the Friday after that and still no repair on my washing machine.
June 3, 2025
Still not repaired.

Broke within 4 months and poor customer service
My husband and I recently bought a brand new GE washer and dryer from Leon’s. (Separate review for Dryer)
Honestly I loved the washer at first, it worked well and had all the settings I wanted. Unfortunately within 4 months of owning it, it was already leaking water and causing water damage in our basement. We tried contacting GE costumer service since we were within the 1 year manufacturer warranty. We heard nothing for a week, upon the second week we started trying to call, got no answers and didn’t have our voicemails returned. It took 3 weeks to finally get a hold of someone and were contacted by a separate company that they outsource to, (Approved Appliance). He was confident he knew our problem without looking at the machine and went ahead and ordered the part that he said would take 2-3 days to come in. We thought this was a good thing. Than he proceeded to not contact us for an entire week. When we called back, he told us “he didn’t have time for small problems” and told us to call back later.
We then contacted GE directly and told them we were upset that we were being ignored and dismissed and not given help to fix our washer. We had a lovely lady that was very helpful (the only good part of GE we have experienced) and we told her that considering our horrible experience with the dryer (see other review) and our horrible experience we are currently having with the washer that we want to return the washer and to go with a different company. She was very helpful in issuing us a store credit with Leon’s and we were able to buy a new washing machine with a different company.
We were called by the Approved Appliance employee the following day trying to replace the part now (we’re assuming he got in trouble for being an a**hole to us previously) and we told him to F off
Even though we appreciate the GE costumer service lady for her help, we have now for separate reasons returned both our washer and dryer and will never be purchasing an GE products ever again.
GE Appliances – Repeated Failures, No Support, Still Brokenased three GE appliances between…
I previously left a 1-star review after experiencing repeated failures with three GE appliances I purchased between 2022 and 2023 — a wall oven, Advantium microwave, and dishwasher — and receiving little meaningful support from GE’s customer service. At the time, two of the appliances were nonfunctional despite multiple part replacements I completed myself, and GE had only offered discounted parts as a resolution.
However, after posting my review, I was contacted by Nancy, a Senior Social Care Advocate with GE, who offered to have a local independent repair company service both appliances at no cost. I truly appreciate her stepping in and taking my concerns seriously when previous efforts went nowhere. Her professionalism and responsiveness made a huge difference, and I want to acknowledge that.
While I’m still disappointed it took public pressure to get to this point, I’m grateful for the resolution and for Nancy’s help. If GE supported customers like this from the beginning, they’d have far more loyal buyers.
