Review summary

Based on reviews, created with AI

Most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people were dissatisfied with the product quality, noting that appliances frequently broke down prematurely, often within a few years or even months of purchase. Customers also encountered significant issues with customer service, describing it as unhelpful, unresponsive, and difficult to navigate, particularly concerning warranty claims and repair scheduling. The repair process itself was a major source of frustration, with reports of technicians failing to fix problems, not showing up for appointments, or providing inadequate diagnoses. Some people were dissatisfied with the warranty coverage, finding it insufficient and not honored as expected, leading to costly repairs for relatively new appliances. However, some customers also noted positive experiences with customer support, particularly when specific individuals intervened to resolve issues promptly and effectively, leading to a sense of satisfaction and a willingness to consider future purchases.

Extremely Disappointed – Dryer Stopped Working, No Resolution Despite Multiple Attempts

I purchased the GE Washer/Dryer All-in-One unit in December 2024, and just a few months later, the dryer stopped working. It has now been over two months with the issue still unresolved. Despite several calls and emails, GE customer service has been completely unhelpful.

They’ve sent a technician three times, and even replaced a part – yet the machine still doesn’t work. Now, they’ve stopped responding to my emails and phone calls altogether. This has been an incredibly frustrating and disappointing experience.
Terrible customer service and absolutely no accountability. I expected better from a brand like GE. I will never buy any GE product again, and I strongly advise others to stay away as well.

Do not recommend GE

Do not recommend GE. Horrible GE front load washer. Horrible warranty customer service. Been without a reliable washer for over 6 months and purchased machine brand new less than a year ago. We have 2 children under 2 and GE as a company does not care to help us. We gave them thousands of dollars for a “reliable” washer and dryer. They have given us stress and headaches but, the one time issued $75 gift card is supposed to make this all better. The supervisor won’t even speak to us. HORRIBLE.

I have all receipts/pictures/parts

I have all receipts, records and (25) parts still stored at my house pertaining to GE washing machine that fell apart after (4) months of very little use. Model# GTW325ASW . I followed all steps as requested by customer service & relations, to no avail any reasonable solution was offered, only a team of people offering excuses. My case manager was simply incompetent and promised a replacement machine by email failed to deliver and more excuses again. I’ve never seen supervisors and case manager simply unable to resolve a simple replacement issue. GE team never called me (1) time, I did all communication 1st on my own and can prove it with (8) pages of notes/pictures.

Truth is GE service team fails all basic reasonable customer service. I purchased machine at Lowe’s, they are #1 for customer service, simply the Best!

GE washing machine I purchased was not a lemon, it was a stinky lemon that bounced hitting the metal (4) walls of machine. Service and customer relations is the Worst.. Now I take my complaint to consumer relations and news media etc. Thanks to myself I keep accurate records.. I won’t post the case#…

? Am I reasonable to ask for reasonable product service?

GE Profile Washing Machine is junk.

The profile washing machine I have has the worst dispensers I have ever used. Completely worthless. If I could go back and buy a different washing machine I would. I suggest avoiding their products as much as possible. There is no quality there.

BEWARE purchasers in the San Diego Area!

Note to potential purchasers in the greater San Diego area: DO NOT buy a GE appliance from GE directly until you investigate who actually delivers and installs them. GE uses A1 Delivery in Vista, a company that has terrible Yelp (1.5);and Google (2.3) reviews. This is for both delivery and installation. I know this from personal experience today (2/21/25). My Yelp review is below.

Before you buy from GE, ask them who handles their delivery and installation. If it is A1, buy your appliances elsewhere.

“Awful experience just now. Absolutely awful. Bought a refrigerator online through GE and this company was supposed to deliver it. They did not call beforehand with an ETA as requested, and on arrival took one look at my under-construction driveway for a new home and said “We don’t walk across dirt.” (Part of the driveway is paved, but about 15- 20 yards is hard-packed dirt before entering a fully built concrete floored garage.) My general contractor was here and he offered to carry it across the dirt part. They refused. To me it seemed obvious that they wanted to end this Friday early. Reading the other reviews just now makes me glad they didn’t do this because they appear to be just as bad on installing GE appliances as delivering them.”

I am soooooo disppointed with this…

I am soooooo disppointed with this product! I purchased it on 12/26/2024 in an after Christmas sale, and was excited about it. I know it is not the top of the line GE product, but I did expect it to at least perform as advertised. The product was supposed to be delivered on NYE 12/31, but never made it there! once I finally received it on 1/10/25, I had it installed and it worked perfectly when the technician installed it, and the oven hasn't work since that day! I NEVER got to bake in it, I can ONLY use the cooktop. I have had it served 4 times with new parts by their repairman, and it STILL doesn't work. I requested to have it replaced with a BRAND NEW appliance, since clearly this one is a lemon, but GE refuses to replace it with a brand new unit!! Can you believe that?! I have been without an oven for nearly 2 months, and I have been MORE THAN PATIENT with this process, but I am told by their Consumer Relations dept that it can only be replaced with a new unit on a case=by-case basis. What kind of case do I need to make that hasn't already been made?!! I am telling all of my friends and colleagues about my experience and not to buy any GE products, but to search for other high quality, reliable brands! The saga continues......I have to file a claim with the BBB and the Attorney General Office in NJ to get some action. Very disappointed. This problem could have EASILY been solved with an apology for my inconvenience and a brand new replacement unit. Case Closed....but apparently GE doesn't care about customer satisfaction!

Do not buy GE!

Installed a new GE dishwasher and it did not work. Scheduled a service call and he did some kind of reset or whatever and it was working ok. Tried use dishwasher a few days later and I was having the same problem. Now they expect me to take another day off from work for another service call because they don't work on weekends or after 5pm. Do not buy GE products.

If I could give 0 stars

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Never buy GE appliances—they are absolute junk, and their service department is even worse.

I purchased a GE washer just a year ago, and it has already needed repairs twice. This time, I’ve been waiting four weeks for a door and motherboard replacement, only to have the technician cancel at the last minute. When I called to reschedule, I was told they had no one else available and that I would now have to wait another 15 days due to their backlog.

Their customer service is nonexistent, their repair times are unacceptable, and their appliances are unreliable. Save yourself the frustration and buy a Speed Queen instead—GE is nothing but overpriced garbage.

Terrible Experience with Customer Service

We bought this refrigerator 5 years ago. Over the summer we noticed it wasn't always cooling. Then it stopped dispensing ice and water and the lights would never come on. We schedule a service call to have someone come out and look at. They replaced sensor buttons on both sides and replaced a light bulb. Once we tried to use it after they left, we still had the same issues, it wasn't cooling, and ice and water would not dispense.

Another service man came out and said that the issue was the water filter board. He did not have the part on his truck, so he ordered it. Another guy came to install it and also found that the door hinges and the bottom were rubbing and could likely be causing the fridge not cool. He said that this should have been addressed initially. He repaired those.

Once again, when he left, the same problems ensued. The fridge would never cool (even with the turbo cool setting) and the ice and water would not dispense.

The last repairman came out again, did more testing and called other people about what else could be causing the issue. They suggested he repair the mainboard. He did that. He also noted that seemed to be a pinched wire that could be causing the issue. He stated that if did not work then there wasn't anything else they could do.

Again, as soon as he walked out the door, the issue was still there. So I called GE again to find out what the next steps were. I talked to a lady and she told me that the service guy would have to come back to verify and write a report that nothing else could be done to fix the issue and if that was the case the GE would replace the unit.

So the repairman came back out, called up the other people and they agreed that nothing else could be done. In fact, I heard the service guy say "This would be a good unit to do an autopsy on"

The next day I called GE to move forward with getting the unit replaced since they either couldn't diagnose the issue, or knew what the issue was but couldn't fix it. The lady that I talked to said that since the fridge was not repairable, that they would offer me a new fridge at a discounted price. Again, this was not what I was orginally told, but I gave her the time to present her offer. I told her I wanted a similar style fridge, with no ice or water dispenser on the door, and ice maker in the freezer. She gave me the model number and price of $1,448. I told her that was not acceptable seeing as I was told otherwise previously. She stated that she would pass this on to the case manager to discuss further.

Here's the most INSULTING PART!! After I got off the phone with her, I went to the GE website to look at the model of the fridge she gave me. The fridge was listed "On Sale" with a price of $1,448...ARE YOU SERIOUS?! You're going to discount $1.00, Not ok.

It has been a week and I still haven’t heard from anyone, so I called again. The lady reviewed the case notes and stated that since the fridge was non repairable, that they could offer me a new fridge at a discounted rate...I immediately stopped her and said No, I need to speak to the case manager that was supposed to call me a week ago and never did. She said that she would schedule him to call on Monday.
Not surprised, I never received a phone call on Monday. On Tuesday late afternoon, I received a phone call, only to be asked if I was ready to accept the previous offers made. I told him I was not a happy with the offers and was told this is the best they could do, as he already spoke to his supervisor. I then spoke to the supervisor and was told that these are the final prices and include delivery and installation, so it’s a good deal. (Come to find out…I was quoted prices for stainless steel, when my fridge is white). I then asked about being refunded for the part that were installed because I shouldn’t have to pay for parts that didn’t fix the problem. He said they could refund 1 charge, but not the other. He said their system showed that we never paid for the other charge, however I clearly have receipts and bank statements that prove my payment, with no refund to my bank account.
Needless to say this is an ongoing issue and I will not be purchasing GE appliances again.

GE vent fresh washer

I bought a GE vent fresh washer and matching dryer. Washer was a year old in Dec ‘24. During that year under the GE warranty the light was replaced, the motor was replaced, and the bearings were replaced. Now under the extended warranty from Lowe’s and only a month out of manufacturer’s warranty the mother board has been replaced but it didn’t fix the problem so now waiting on some new wiring. I am so through with this washer and it is rated so high on so many sites. The salesman at Lowe’s told me he was a washer repair man for years and GE and LG were the best on the market. Well I got a lemon. One more call on my extended warranty and Lowe’s will replace it or give me my money back. The tech from the company that handles the extended warranty and has been repairing washers and dryers for 20 years says the best washers made are speed Queen. No aluminum, all steel and the only company that gives manufacturers warranties of 3 or 7 years depending on model. Every other company only gives 1 year manufacturer’s warranty and you have to buy extended warranty.

Poor customer service

I have a ge profile dishwasher which is 3 years old. Dish racks rusting. Did I mention it is only 3 years old! GE's response not under warranty. We can't help you!
Customer Service is no longer important to these large companies which is surprising in this day and age of social media. So if I could give them 0 stars I would. They have forever lost me as a customer!!

A very unhappy comsumer

Mr. Mccalpin, Mr. Charnas and Mr. Nolan,
My name is Ross,I had a house built in 2022 and purchased GE appliances for my home.
I moved in 09-2022. I do not recall exact dates of when the issues I had which I will explain took place. The appliance I had issues with is a GE cafe wall oven model# CTD90FP2N3S1. My wife went to self clean this unit and the unit totally burnt out discoloring some of my kitchen cabinets. I called GE and started a claim. I told the GE customer service rep that I wanted a new oven as this was a fire hazzard, I was told by the rep that the warranty only covers repairs, not replacements. My cabinets all around the oven were very very hot and I was worried they would catch on fire so I had to empty all my cabinets around the oven and stay up until 3:00 AM to make sure there was no fire. A GE tech was sent out to my home and checked the unit and saw it was not working. He ordered a bunch of boards and some other parts and came back and changed everything and the unit was working. We were still having issues with the oven so I called back GE consumer relations and explained  that I wanted a new oven, again explaining that this oven is a fire hazzard which I do not think the rep was interested in hearing. I was told that I can buy a new one at a discount price which is ludicrous considering that this oven was new. Being I was nervous about this repaired oven catching on fire I agreed to purchase a new one for I think $2300.00 which again I think is Ludicrous considering I just paid $5000.00 for the oven that totally burnt out. The purchase was made and I was giving a delivery and install date. I asked who would be doing the install and was told the company spirit. I informed the rep that I did not want them doing the install after seeing their reviews in which were terrible. I was told that they are the only ones that can do the install. Well the oven was delivered and installed and during the install they broke one of my cabinets, they tried to leave before I could see the damage. They took pictures of the damage and I was told someone would be in touch with me later that day. They never reached out to me. I called GE consumer relations and explained what had happened and was giving a phone number to sedwick or sedgewick insurance company. I spoke with someone there and was giving a email to someone at spirit. My new oven was installed a few months ago and a GE tech from bodewell had to come out and change a piece on the bottom oven door and install it correctly. This was about 3 weeks ago. Well my wife went to self clean the oven and we started smelling something burning and saw that the self cleaning had stopped after 2 hours. At the time of us smelling the burning the fire department was here for another reason but did ask what that smell was coming from and we explained to them about the self cleaning and explained what happened with the last oven, they said to call us if we needed them. The oven has issues now since the self cleaning. I called GE consumer relations again and again they sent out a GE tech from bodewell who was here a few days ago and had to order parts for this oven. I do not want this model wall oven anymore as it is a fire hazzard. I thought the first oven was just that unit that had issues but now that it happened to a second oven there is a problem. I do not have all the dates and times I spoke with customer relations but I am sure you can find out without a problem. I have 1 case number which is 12864734, im sure you can see how many times I spoke with customer relations and all the issues I had. I would like a full refund on these 2 lemon ovens and also I want my cabinets repaired. I thought I would write you and see if this can be resolved before I go to the BBB, consumer affairs, leave bad reviews everywhere I can and retain an attorney.
Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

TERRIBLE QUALITY and even worse…

TERRIBLE QUALITY and even worse customer service. I bought the Café™ Specialty Drip Coffee Maker to celebrate a career milestone. I expected much better craftsmanship and durability for an appliance that cost over $400 — and it’s beyond frustrating that it hasn’t lived up to its promise. Within a year of purchase, the coating in the thermal carafe began peeling. Shortly after the peeling started, I noticed flakes of the coating in my coffee, making it unsafe to use the carafe.

It is completely unacceptable for something at this price point to break down a year after purchase. Beyond being an inconvenience and waste of my hard-earned money, it’s also disheartening to think about the environmental impact. In just over a year, I’m now faced with the expense of replacing it and the guilt of sending it to the landfill. It feels like such a waste for something that should have lasted much longer. Nobody seems to keen on helping me out. So I guess I'm just out $400 and my local landfill gets yet another "modern" appliance that doesn't even last a year.

Wish that I had read these reviews…

Wish that I had read these reviews before buying all new GE Profile appliances for my kitchen remodel in April 2022. One month after the 1 year warranty expired the microwave quit working. My handyman husband replaced the circuit board and so far it is still working. Next we dealt with the glass top range which I was unable to master after 2 1/2 years of trying. I have cooked on glass top electric ranges for more than 30 years but this stove top was impossible to control. So because I had not read the bad reviews I bought a GE Profile induction electric range. It works much better but who knows for how long. I can't say the same for the dishwasher. It stopped working early January 2025. My husband talked to a certified repair man on the phone who said that he no longer repairs these dishwashers because the are made so cheaply. He suggested that we just buy a new Bosch. Husband thought he could do it himself again and replaced the water valve. Worked again for about a week. This time he replaced the circuit board and the water valve. Dishwasher worked for 2 loads! After spending time and about $300 trying to fix this piece of ##%% we have bought the Bosch. Believe all of the bad reviews and don't buy any GE products.

Should we say R.I.P

Was so pleased Two years ago when we bought our new GE washer, our clothes we're coming out not only cleaner but smelled so much better. Within a few months our machine started shaking really hard during washing cycle our soap dispenser ended up cracking no biggy, we had that replaced. Now we're two years in and out washer is doing all sorts of wonky things, making grinding sounds, not spinning when on spin cycle, turning off halfway through, then turning it's self back on. I have called they said our warranty has expired so we have to go through a repair company. Such a hassle. Now we have soaking wet clothes sitting in our washer so trying to hand wring them out.

GE dishwasher

I purchased a new GE dishwasher at the end of September. Here we are in the middle of January, flooded my kitchen floor twice, and 4 repair trips later. It hasn’t made 7 complete cycles yet (I saw the technicians service tool).
I will never buy another GE appliance in my life. Factory service techs are super good guys, but they’re working with junk.
Thanks GE. I’ll go out of my way to tell everyone to avoid your appliances at all costs.
