Review summary

Based on reviews, created with AI

Most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people were dissatisfied with the product quality, noting that appliances frequently broke down prematurely, often within a few years or even months of purchase. Customers also encountered significant issues with customer service, describing it as unhelpful, unresponsive, and difficult to navigate, particularly concerning warranty claims and repair scheduling. The repair process itself was a major source of frustration, with reports of technicians failing to fix problems, not showing up for appointments, or providing inadequate diagnoses. Some people were dissatisfied with the warranty coverage, finding it insufficient and not honored as expected, leading to costly repairs for relatively new appliances. However, some customers also noted positive experiences with customer support, particularly when specific individuals intervened to resolve issues promptly and effectively, leading to a sense of satisfaction and a willingness to consider future purchases.

GE washier dryer warranty is useless

I bought a GE stackable washer dryer combo from Home depot. The dryer didn't work for 1st I had to wait a week for home depot to check it, then schedule a repair with GE, another week. They replaced the starter motor. 1 month later he washer doesnt work. They wanted to send someone out in 10 days! I had clothes sitting in a tub of water so the scheduled another company to come the next day between 8 am and noon but they didnt show up. Back to GE and now have an appt for tomorrow - I am not at all happy with their product or warranty. It like they are selling used broken equipment

Poor Customer Service

My Café range was recently delivered and did not function properly from the time we set it up. I requested a replacement thinking this was the most logical and reasonable thing to do but was told to make a request for repair since it was covered under the standard 1 year warranty. Really?? Who pays for a brand new high end range only to have it repaired from day one? My range was taken apart by a tech guy who was having a hard time putting it all back in one piece. All of this without being sure of the issue. This means that upon receiving the part ordered, my range will be taken apart again with no guarantee of being fixed and I was reassured by GE customer service that this will not decrease its value nor will it increase the likelihood for other issues. This is a joke and quite honestly unprofessional and disrespectful. Needless to say, I will never buy from GE again.

Poor Quality - Poor Service

I purchased a high end GE Dishwasher which stopped working after a few months. I contacted GE and the told me the only replacement they couldoffer was a different model and I would only need to pay $400. The replacement model is nothing like the model I purchased. The basket slots are so small 1/3 of them are unusable. You can't use liquid detergent or use the dispenser at all because the Silverware basket is directly in front of the dispenser. This replacement model doesn't have a heating element like my higher priced model did so my dishes are never dry. This replacement unit isn't worth what I paid and I can see why GE "cons" it off on its customers that need a replacement. This is my last GE Appliance. I make a point now whenever I visit a home improvement store to pass by the appliance dept and if I see anyone looking at a GE Appliance, I tell them about my poor replacement that GE "recommended" to me and I encourage them to get a Bosch or a kitchenaide instead. Anything but GE.

HORRIBLE customer service!!!

HORRIBLE customer service!!!! We have been trying to get a dishwasher fixed and our appointment has been canceled multiple times after missing only one phone call. We call back immediately, but that’s not good enough! Our appointment is gone for the entire day. The dispatcher even blocked our numbers (I guess because he is trying to avoid having to fix it) Crazy!!! They offered no solution but to wait another week. Wow! Will never be purchasing a GE appliance again.

Purchased a suite of GE appliances for my kitchen 2/2021
Chose GE despite my initial hesitation with the brand because of the long wait times for other brands (Whirlpool ideally) for my kitchen remodel as well as supply issues related to covid
The french door refrigerator's compressor or some kind of switch is failing and the repair is estimated at $800-1000, for a $2550 unit
1 year warranty, crap
I should not have to purchase an extended warranty or have anything but minor issues from such a recently purchased product
The microwave had an issue with the down light receptacles failing and burning out the lights prematurely and the receptacle crumbling to bits, junk
The dishwasher top trim gets caught on loose closing and finally came completely off
Cheap plastic tabs broke off and would not snap back neatly so I had to leave it looking bad or buy an expensive part to get the trim with it
Is not sold as a separate piece and would need to purchase a $200+ component
Had to spend extra time using special epoxy to reattach more firmly
I will NEVER purchase a GE product again
Done
Purchased a Whirlpool side by side refrigerator from Costco and looking forward to much better reliability

Frustrated with GE Appliances!

Frustrated with GE Appliances!
After just 2 years, my GE profile over the range microwave has completely stopped working. I tried reaching out to their customer service, but they refuse to stand behind their product despite 2 repair men telling me that they have seen this exact problem and it is a design flaw. I expected better quality and support for the price I paid! All my appliances are GE profile and I have never ever had a problem so I am really upset, frustrated and disappointed!

I really thought I was buying from a reliable brand, but now I’m left with a broken microwave and no help.

GE Appliances are Garbage

I know it's Black Friday and some people are looking for a great deals on stoves and ranges. Some people will consider buying a GE Range. If you are one of those people run. Get away from the GE page as soon as you can. This company is a major fraud. I bought a GE Range approximately 10 years ago and I paid $3,000. One of the switches has been burned out and that's fine, after 10 years I would expect that. However, guess what? The switch is discontinued making this high-end $3,000 stove that was bought just 10 years ago obsolete. You should never, ever consider a GE appliance again. They discontinue their parts on high end products so that you are forced to buy another product from them. Guess what, you don't need to buy another product from them. There are many other companies that stand behind their products. GE is not to be trusted.

A brand new washer and dryer purchased about six months ago to replace one that was less than three years old. Even though I get them at a discount due to the fact that I get employee pricing I don’t think I’ll ever buy this product again. Motherboard went on our washing machine that was brand new and we are told that it would be 3 to 4 months before we got a new part. Called the company, there are no help. You might wanna avoid this brand altogether.

Customer Service Rude

2 year old washer has oil all over gearbox. Called Customer Service to see if there was anything we could do. Rep was extremely rude and condescending, would not let me finish a sentence and hung up on me. Worse Customer service I have ever experienced. No interest in trying to keep a customer.

Update 1/2/25. I had also sent a complaint directly to GE. I received a timely response from one of their case managers. He was most professional and did offer to assist with a solution. If you do have to call GE Customer Service and get Ms.Day, or anyone else who is rude and does not help with a solution, try someone else, or send an email directly to GE. They do have helpful people.

GE Washer after two years started to…

GE Washer after two years started to leak. I called the warranty company "Assurant" only to have a bad experience with the techs. The first guy came out and he was okay. He did clean the filter but ordered a part. The second guy came out and did something to the Wi-Fi! the washer came on by itself and wouldn't turn off. There were some other issues with the tech. I replaced the washer with another GE washer but leery of what will happen with this washer.

GE fridge: Expensive proprietary water filters

I recently purchased a new GE fridge, but I noticed something that really upset me. It uses RPWFE water filter cartridges, which are proprietary and include an RFID chip that the fridge recognizes to enforce replacements with GE filters only. Each filter costs $50, which is not cheap, and I’m unhappy that GE does this purely to make money when plenty of third-party filters perform similarly at a fraction of the cost. This experience makes me reluctant to buy GE products in the future.

I bought a GE Refrigerator having my fridge for exactly a month I noticed a pretty decent crack by the Ice maker on the inside wall of the freezer… GE sent a tech to “make sure it was working properly” the tech said it’s cosmetic which later he said that if moister gets in the crack over time it will rot out the wall of the fridge I get that it is cosmetic but they wouldn’t have sold me this fridge from the floor it would have been marked down for the crack. I am very u satisfied by the way they say it’s cosmetic when the fridge is only a month old.

I have a GE top loader washing machines - less than 3 years old - it is rusting. On the phone with their premium Bolwell Service.

There is nothing premium about this service NOR is there anything good about GE products. No wonder they are performing so badly.

Boat anchor by GE

I have 7 year old GE PROFILE slide in convection range.
My main 3 burner element stopped working.
The fault is the infinite switch. The switch is only is part of a wiring harness with all five switches! The harness is no longer available!
Now what I have is an expensive boat anchor!
DONT BUY GE! Their good reputation is gone!
None of GE Canada phone numbers work!
Can’t get to customer service! Email replies are not helpful!
