Terrible company. They did a pending charge for $100 x 2 for my tech issue (needed help with a VBA Excel macro), when it should have been only one charge. When on the phone, the first level rep co... See more

SHAMELESS SCAMMERS
I was about to sign up on Geeker.com and then they asked my credit card info even though it would cost me nothing. I don't care what kind of excuse that is, it is a ridiculous one anyway so don't bother, there are many different ways to ask someone where they live BESIDE asking for their credit card.
I'm glad I looked it up first, I see all these bad reviews and what's worse is that Geeker is responding to them, pretending they aren't scammers, not apologising, telling people they'll pay them back, but trying to excuse themselves. They probably don't even respond to costumer service.
It's a scam, it doesn't take a genius to figure it out after reading the reviews. PLEASE BEWARE. don't give away any personal information without looking it up or if it isn't a respectable and trustworthy site like paypal or Netflix.

Can't complete sign up - however they still took my money…
Tried to sign up but received a message saying "Your card could not be authorised, please try another card".
Funny, they managed to charge my credit card! Then when I tried to log into their website I got a message asking me to check my email. This was as I pressed their "login" button, but before I told them any of my details!
Won't be trying them again, and will be reporting the transaction to my credit card company.
UPDATE FOLLOWING RESPONSE:
Already spoke to customer services who said my subscription had been cancelled. By who exactly? I was trying to sign up! Customer services also contradicted themselves by saying that there was an issue with my card and would need to give them new card details; and that the charges applied were only to verify the account and would be refunded in a couple of days...... so which is it?
Total scam! I've cancelled my credit card.

I was tricked into signing up for this
I was tricked into signing up for this. I was intending on signing up for nfl preseason live to watch the game, was told click button to watch, then this site popped up asking for my card info, which said I had a free 5 day membership. I immediately cancelled so I wouldn't be charged but I was still charged 1.00, then 0.01. Very deceptive company. BEWARE

Got charged $9.95 immediately for a "free" membership!
I carefully navigated their website and never agreed to any charges. I didn't even select a trial period membership. The very next day WF called and said there was suspicious activity on our card. WF by the way is great at stopping theives. i have a receipt from Geeker saying Geeker free membership, member type - Free, cost - $0, tax - $0, Total - $0. and yet the very day I typed in my credit info I got a $9.95 charge.
The canned reply you see from Geeker to all of these reviews is a flat out lie. Don't give them your credit info.

Scammers
Scammers. They say they won't charge your credit card, but they do. Don't give these folks your banking information!
I'm not reaching out to Geeker, I'm simply warning other users to stay away from them. A Google search of "geeker credit card" should help prove the point that they've scammed quite a few people with their sleezy tactics.

Geeker charged my account just 3 days …
Geeker charged my account just 3 days after i signed up! Threw my account in disarray and I incurred charges from another company related to the non-payment due to the overdraft Geeker created. If they had honored their own terms everything would have fallen into place without issue. I'm VERY disappointed and angry. Besides that, i STILL didn't get to see Game of thrones. Which is why i tried to sign up in the first place!

Honestly I don't see the point of entering credit card information. Reading all these previous reviews it sounds like it's a scam. Every single one of the reviews are bad. I refuse to put my credit card information out there especially to a site where ALL the reviews are bad. I'd suggest you let people have a free trial without the card info that way we can see for ourselves if this is something we would buy and spend our hard earned money on. I feel even if the free trial is 24 hours that's better then nothing. Looking at these reviews people are not going to trust you so Geeker is going to have to do something to gain that trust back

** Deceptive enrolment practices!**
I tried to sign up for a "free" basic membership...thought I hit all the right buttons to do so - I received a confirmation email stating I was enrolled in a premium membership that renews for $29.99 / month. I cancelled immediately - checked my bank account and these thieving B#@#@rds took 3 charges from my account. 1 for $1.00 and 2 for $.01. Their intro pages that sucked me in stated my account would not be charged at all. My recommendation: DO NOT ENROLL !

Another scam site
Another scam site. Whether they steal money from users or not, they do not have the rights to offer at least some of the content they say they have. I know this as a book I published is listed on the site. A thief is a thief, regardless of who they steal from.

Claimed there would be no charge or foul play WHATSOEVER. Sure enough, I got a $3 fee and they set me for a $30 fee to be paid 5 days later, which they said they WOULD NOT do. Untrustworthy; thanks for making me have to cancel my debit card, forcing me to alter my card info on all of my accounts just to be safe. No excuse for this.

Geeker offers free membership
Geeker offers free membership, but you have to give up your creditcard info. Yeah... as if...
A Geeker worker responded saying that it's "in case you need to buy something". Well, then I will buy it then, and you could add the possibility of using PayPal and other secure payment options.
If Geeker is a real website, they would offer these options - anything to prove that they are legit. Not doing so kinda indicates that it's not legit.
Don't chance it.
Response from Geeker
"Thank you for reaching out to us. Credit Card information is required for validation purposes. We do offer a free membership, as well as subscription memberships. The only way a member receives a charge to their card, is if they choose to make a purchase of an upgrade on the website. We are a legitimate website. Presently, our system only facilitates Credit Card registration; however, we are looking into having other payment methods added to our website. "
What exacly are you validating? Why on earth should you care who I am, when Netflix, HBO, or any larger players doesn't?
Seems exceedingly fishy that you need validation for something like this.
Not only that, I am validated through other secure platforms, such as PayPal. That should be sufficient for you.
Giving out credit card info is really, really dangerous.
