Giant Food Old Court Rd. Pikesville MD
Giant Food, with the narrower aisles, and “dividers” of unnecessary display boxes and products in the middle and ends of EVERY aisle, you risk hitting someone when you round almost every aisle due to their blind spots. Grocery shopping is bad enough. But what I'm NOT going to do at a grocery store? Utter 50 "s'cuse me's" as I pick up butter. Who wants to spend their energy having to "size up" the mood, temperament, disposition and attitude before deciding if it's "safe" to utter a "pardon me”. Each time I was looking at cereal, a cut of beef, or the best-looking smoked turkey necks, I had to move forward and away from what I was looking at, because there was no room for anyone to get around me.
My tape shows how the store has narrowed its aisles, making it hard to navigate the store without constantly bumping into other carts or having to spend time waiting to get around a cart. I have had to put up with so many changes at this store, since it was affectionately called the “Gucci Giant”. Last year I accepted the store now has scales to weigh groceries at the register. It let me know that incidences of theft have increased. But I'd always had an enjoyable experience, even with the increased "security". I'd never had a negative experience, so I was never hindered at shopping here. But TODAY?!! Giant owes me an apology for speaking me in a very derogatory manner and threatening to touch my purse and put me out of the store for NO just cause. I did not commit a crime. In a video I was expressing my exasperation at the new, awful, crowded design. Yes, the CHEAP doors on both sides of the dairy and breakfast meats aisles was not thought-out. When you add two aisles of people and carts, its mass congestion.
This is the first major establishment I will no longer visit, because of its poor decision-making skills. Any executive within The AHOLD Companies should question the basic thinking skills for all who signed off on making this store a battlefield of angry customers who can’t shop proficiently because of the narrow spaces, especially when the shelves are being stocked.
Watch your receipts
I had to spend over 700 dollars to get my free turkey this year. Its supposed to be 400 points which equals 400 dollars. Frustrated I tried to gather as many receipts that I still had.
I looked at 2 of my reciepts the first said I had 180 points. A few days later I was minus 40 of those points.
I tried to explain this to costumer service with receipts in hand, she blew me off saying they must have rolled over. Wouldn't even look at the dates on my receipt.
They have the WORST costumer service, basically its a return area.
I suggest you monitor your receipts carefully. There scamming you into spending more money, which is tight around the holidays.
I'm done with Giants.
Acme will be my new go to grocery store. They have better variety and quality anyway.
I ordered
I ordered, approx. 10/8 deli cheese and roasted turkey breast. I received some Price-Rite garbage and a turkey roll lunch meat. If this ever happens again, I will report you to the Pa Attorney General and the Frauds division of the federal government. I will also let all you unsuspecting customers about your fraud. Try me! I have some very influential friends.
Awful service and selection
Awful service and selection. They are ALWAYS out of commonly sought after products. It’s either apathy, incompetence or both.
Impossible to download digital coupons
Impossible to download digital coupons. Super user unfriendly web site. Stuck on wanting to deliver groceries. Wants me to be in a state I don't live in.
Giant's ad directs me to digital coupons that you can not get to. I have been shopping at Giant for over 40 years. I will NEVER shop there again. Build an up to date user friendly web site before you direct customers to it.
There's a good Manager out there.....
I'd like to commend the manager at the Feasterville PA store.. Her name was Dhiel (not sure of the spelling) She went the extra mile helping me with a batch of bad grapes..
We shopped at Giant on Jonestown Road in…
We shop at Giant on Jonestown Road in Harrisburg PA. Spend an average of over $750 a month. After standing in line when my husband reached the cashier she told him I am sorry but I'm closed and he had a basket full of groceries. So he moved to the next cashier. Then the original cashier stayed and checked out someone that had a few items. Then my husband said I thought you were closed. She said well he only has a few items. My husband said well now you have a cart full of items you can put back and left. We will not go back. Shopping at Karns now.
The pharmacy staff are outstanding
The service provided by the pharmacy staff is great every time I go there.

Never order online for pickup
Never order online for pickup. They will completely mess your order or your pickup time more often than not. Website doesn't work to review order or add item; no one answers phone
Be very careful
Be very careful, Giant has prices that seem good, but at the time of payment the prices are completely different, for example the watermelon is shown at $3.80 but at the time of payment the price is $9.00 and if you complain, they tell you that that item has a discount with a digital coupon or they look for an excuse to get you to pay a higher price!!! It is a DECEPTIVE market.
Poor Quality. Sky-High Prices.
I will pay more money for high quality items, but Giant charges very high prices for sub-standard foods. $2 for a plastic wrapped bunch of sub-standard celery or $4 for a slightly better looking bunch. I bought a lb of bacon. 12 oz of carefully hidden fat with 4 oz of meat so thinly sliced you could not separate the slices. Yes, I bought the sale bacon because I could not handle $10 and more for other brands. But the fact that the fat & poor quality was so artfully hidden chaps-my-hide. It was also so salty it is in the trash. I hate being scammed. I will never set foot in Giant again. Honesty, integrity, & quality are very important to me.
I wish I could attach my pictures that prove my statements.
I would give 0 stars if I could
I would give 0 stars if I could. I updated my giant direct order to have the money for the order taken from a certain account, I updated it 4 times as it kept reverting back to original payment. They did wind up taking my order payment from the wrong card and my bank account was overdrawn. When I called giant to find out what happened I was told I shouldnt update my order so much. Really!?! I can update as much as I want and was told theres nothing they can do to help me. I always have issues but this is the straw that broke the back. Weis markets for me from now on!
Don't Buy Giant Food Peach Mango Green Tea Drink Mix!!
Don't buy Giant Food Peach Mango Green Tea. The product is now manufactured by Regal Commodities that deleted an essential ingredient - Peace Juice Solids. The new mix looks like urine and tastes terrible! I've switched to the Crystal Light brand. Giant Food refused to fix their mistake!
The produce is old
The produce is old, wilted and low quality. I also looked for some of my favorite products and they don’t have them in stock. It always disappointing to shop there
Worst Giant foods refrigerated pie crust
Worst Giant foods refrigerated pie crust ever! I should have paid attention to the reviews but decided to give the pie crust the benefit of doubt. I am evermore sorry that I did. Trying to unroll it was a lesson in futility. It stuck to itself and then broke apart in 4 sections as I enrolled it. I patched it up as best it could be. Made the pie and the crust tasted like cardboard. I ended up throwing the pie away. So annoyed at spending all the money on the pie then having it ruined by the crust. Do. Not. Buy. It.
Disappointed and Dissatisfied
This was through On Line pick up. I had asked for Large Russet Baking Potatoes (3) and what I received was 3 potatoes between the sizes of a tennis ball and a golf ball for $1.25 each. Everything else was great. I would have given them a 5 stars had they paid attention to the selection of merchandise.
disability discrimination
surprised they have so few reviews. people need to speak up. anyway, i have no problem with their groceries. my issue is that I applied for a job, they tried to get me to take another position. I told them I could not because i am disabled and could only do the position I applied for which was CASHIER. as soon as i mentioned my disability, they said they weren't hiring. i reached out to corporate who ignored my firs 2 attempts. when they finally got back to me, they left a message and i called back within 5 minutes. more than a month later, no one has called me back from district. a few weeks later i received an email stating i was passed over because they hired someone. i will be contacting a disability attorney to see if i have a case for discrimination.
Issues with Delivery & Customer Service
The online delivery service and customer service were a nightmare. The Giant Direct delivery service forces you to set up an account and to get a card for their grocery store, even though I live nowhere near a Giant store and simply wanted to place an order for my mom for Mother's Day since she lives near one. That is completely unnecessary, as I place many, many online orders where I can choose to place the order without setting up an account. Then I accidentally left the box checked that says shipping and billing are the same, and there was no way to edit that after I moved forward a page. That then seemed to have linked my account to one my mom must have, so it then charged her for her own Mother's Day gift. I called the central customer service line, was transferred twice, then got cut off while talking with an agent. They had just confirmed my phone number, but no one called back. I called again and gave my phone number directly in case I was cut off, which I was again, and no one called back. I thought this might be a nice was to start sending things to my mom from across country, but apparently not.
