Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 42 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people experienced frustrating issues with faulty hardware, including broken components, crashing systems, and failing motherboards shortly after initial purchase. Consumers frequently noted that customer service was entirely unhelpful, unresponsive, and extremely difficult to reach when trying to resolve issues. Additionally, buyers expressed deep dissatisfaction because warranties were rarely honored for severely damaged items. Though some customers encountered major hurdles, a small group of people were satisfied with their purchase overall. These individuals found specific hardware components to be exceptionally stable, durable, and dependable over long periods of use.

If I could rate this brand negative…

If I could rate this brand negative 1000 i would. Monitor broke after seven months. Tried to claim warranty however was told it was physical damage couldnt be claimed. I let them know the monitor hadnt been damaged in anyway as the monitor sits on my desk and doesnt go anywhere so not sure why half of the screen would stop working after seven months

Terrible computers, terrible customer service

Computer lasted no time at all before needed a lot of repairs. Gigabyte make it extremely difficult for you to fix the laptop. Only option is to send it back to their shop so they can do the repair themselves without telling you how much or how long it’ll take and that’s if they ever even respond to you. Terrible computers even worse customer service. For the money I would highly recommend against it. I’d rather burn £1800 then purchase one of their laptops again.

Short sighted CS

A Waterforce 1080ti fan failed within four years. As the fan connector is bespoke it’s not simply a case of swapping out for a regular PWM fan. Gigabyte left me high and dry on this one saying they would not repair or supply a fan as I had not signed up for the 3+1 year warranty. They also would not sell a fan to me to fit myself.

This is very short sighted customer service, with them effectively saying the product is junk after three years, because of a fan failure.

Would not buy another Gigabyte product. Go Asus or Evga instead.

Ticket ID1377444. I am happy for Gigabyte to contact me to resolve following this review.

RMA worked fine for me

About six months ago my laptop lost the ability to charge, and despite the fact it was still under warranty I took it to a local shop because I thought it would be a quick fix didn't want to wait a month for it to be sent back. They told me that the problem would require some soldering to fix and that they didn't have the expertise to fix it. I mentioned that it was still under warranty and they told me it was probably void because I took it into a third party store. I called around to a few different stores and told them about my problem and none of them were willing to try to fix my laptop so I decided to send it in for warranty, despite knowing they probably wouldn't fix it. While it was gone I read a bunch of reviews online about how stingy Gigabyte was with its RMA policy and how they would void it over nothing, and I was sure my case would be no different. But five weeks later when I got my laptop back it was fixed! It has worked fine ever since. The website for getting an RMA approved is quite clunky, and the status updates are given in one long line that go off the screen. Also it took days to get my request approved, but I'm just thankful that I got my computer back.

impatient, rude, doesn't know how to help their own customers

the lady was rude and impatient, didnt help whatsoever and just brushed off every concern I had. said that she didn't know how to help and that next time I should experiment instead of just calling even though I don't know what to test... she didn't even guide me towards what to do and just blamed me for it happened. not a very good support, which sucks cuz the products themselves are really nice.

Aorus warranty ain’t worth anything - don’t waste your time

Aorus warranty ain’t worth anything. I have extended warranty on my GPU, and they will not honour, even though they have said it clearly has a fault. They want me to send to Spain at my expense, they will check it, and if they deem it’s a problem I’ve caused (what, they think I dropped it!!!) they wont fix it……oh, and I have to pay for a return. Wouldn’t trust them. Don’t bother buying gigabyte, and don’t bother registering the product. They are not interested once they have your money - I’ll never buy gigabyte / aorus again

Self-Corrupting Gigashite Motherboards

Their supposedly "ultra durable" motherboards suck. I always used to recommend them because they were the best in their price range but in recent years they've been shipping boards with self-corrupting BIOS chips. Last week I had 2 customers with the same issue on different boards and Gigabytes response was essentially 'sucks to be you, go buy a new board'. The first one (Z170X) killed itself when all I did was enable SecureBoot in the BIOS, which corrupted the BIOS ICs, and Gigabyte claim that the board is out of warranty and they won't even quote for a repair so now I have to source, program and replace 2x BIOS ICs for free. The second board (X299 UD4 Pro) just stopped working out of nowhere but luckily this one is covered by the retailer and so I can get my money back but that still leaves me doing a board swap for free. Absolutely useless company, never buying or recommending their rubbish again. With the amount of money I've sent their way over the last 15+ years I would have expected more support, but no. In contrast the MSI board I installed today is a beast and I love the layout of the BIOS, at a better price than the Gigabyte equivalent and with more features I'm already sold. Can't wait to get feedback from the customer on this one and find out how they perform in the long term. Goodbye Gigashite, hello MSI!

Appalling uk warranty service.

26/7/2922 This started. Aorus7kB unit Sent back to warranty ppl for repair due to faulty lap top screen. After many weeks Gigabyte still unable to procure replacement screen. More weeks pass and the agreed on a replacement. Weeks pass and an unsuitable 15” model arrives.- nothing like the17” spec model I was promised by Mendit. Then agreed in a credit which tbh I’m not interested in now.
It is impossible to contact them for a call. Emails and messages remain unanswered. Their service (sic) is atrocious. Avoid them- they do not care about customers.

Terrible quality of Gigabyte AORUS gaming laptop

Bought a Gigabyte AORUS 15P XD gaming laptop around 1 year ago. Now it can power on, but got black screen. Contacted with their online support. The USA RMA department ask me to contact to Canada department. The Canada department said it's over the warranty based on their record. Why don't the USA RMA department just tell me it's over the warranty? I no need to waste my time to talk to Canada department.

Dead RX6800XT in 60 Days

I bought a new Gigabyte RX6800XT that worked for 60 days. I do not stress the GPU and it hardly gets 2-3 hours of use per day. It failed to make any output to either of two displays. I returned the GPU for service and the repair went quickly. But on review of the work they did, the repair was on a fan. The GPU fails when the thing is cool, room teperature, after sitting overngiht. As expected, right out of the box the GPU is still just as defective. Worse, the repair center neglected to replace the PCI edge protector. So now it will go back for a second RMA, more shipping out of my pocket.

If I would have remembered the Gigabyte exploding power supply business, I would have avoided this brand altogether. Their customer care, repair support, is awful. I would never recommend Gigabyte to anyone.

Gigabyte Aero 15 Laptop- Bought my son…

Gigabyte Aero 15 Laptop- Bought my son a Laptop in August 2021- was gifted at xmas- after 8 months fan is griding it being 2 weeks out of original warranty and Gigabyte won't do anything about it. After looking online e this is an extremely common issue with Gigabyte laptops (fan going bad in 6-8 months) and Gigabyte knows it's an issue but won't do anything about it. Hopefully a class action gets going. Avoid Gigabyte at all costs not the quality they once were

G27Q Monitor Purchase Regrets

I bought a G27Q monitor, my first purchase from Gigabyte. Huge regret. Software does not work, support is giving worthless "make sure the cable is connected" run-around answers, a year after use the screen started showing black borders which seems to be a common issue with no solutions. I wrote to support but do not expect answers. Terrible experience.

You get what you pay for, but that's literally it

Good tech, terrible company in every other regard.

Minor faults present with two different products.

4 year warranty to win the purchase but multiple warranty emails ignored when needed.

Poor translations on website. No way to speak to anyone, not even a bot.

Update: I never got a reply to my warranty claim and the product eventually failed.

Poorly made Gigabyte Aero 15.6in UHD 64GB…

Bought a Gigabyte Aero 15.6in UHD 64GB RAM Gaming Laptop March 2021 and it didn't even last a year. Power on with a black screen. Applied under warranty and they claimed MB oxidised and must be from water damage. There was absolutely no water damage from us. None of the other many computers we have had any issues with moisture and have been running happily for years. Perhaps they expect their laptops to be used in a lab within a humidity controlled environment! They wanted to charge us the cost of another MB which is 1/2 cost of the original. We declined - not going to throw good money after bad.
Will never buy a Gigabyte again and highly recommend avoiding them for their poor quality products. Umart was not very helpful either and was the intermediary between us so won't be using them again either. They didn't take responsibility as the retailer or go into bat for a good customer outcome.
