Sadly we had a bit of a wait as our car was not ready. Eventually we were given a different car but that was covered in dents and scratches and lacked guts uphills.
Was told that where we going (Latina) there was no support from Goldcar so we were persuaded to pay for extra insurance that was the same price as the original hire charge ( that seemed odd).
Happy with my rental
The whole rental process went very smoothly. The staff was friendly and communicative. The car was as expected. Nothing to complain about.
perfect service but small bugs
automated key pickup did not work, but luckily the staff at the counter was very helpfull and solved the problem. no other problems, return process absolutely fast, the car was brand new... do not forget your own child seat - the price for this service is extreme
Pour experience at Gold Car Madrid Airport
We made a reservation for a Nissan SUV but at the Madrid airport desk there was only a 'Dr' SUV available that the staff member wouldn't recomment. Alternative was renting a SUV in a higher class (+ 10 euro a day) or a much smaller car in the same class (+ 3 euro a day).
After returning the car (with a full tank) we didn't get the full deposit back because there is a smart tanking fee where we didn't ask for.

High mileage and check all dents against check in sheet
Good price but car had lots of dents and over 70000 km to start with. When one is told that one has to pay for any potential road assistance it makes one feel a bit uneasy...but all was ok and the car was quite good
