Absolutely appalling treatment of a family with an infant — avoid.I do not recommend this hotel at all
I do not recommend this hotel at all. Today I arrived to check in with my husband, our two older children, and our infant. At reception, three very young women—absolutely unwilling to help—told me the baby would not be allowed in the room because more than four people are not permitted. I could have accepted that rule if they had offered a workable alternative. Instead, they told us to book an additional room with breakfast.
When I asked about the price, on top of the almost €900 we were already paying, they demanded over €500 more—no flexibility, no goodwill rate, no special price. I was told, verbatim, that “this is how it is in all hotels.” In a time when family travel and work-life balance are widely supported, this stance is incomprehensible. At this hotel, it seems a “family” only counts if it has exactly four members. Congratulations on that mindset.
We asked to speak to a manager, but were told he had already left and they would not contact him. I called the very first alternative hotel and they were perfectly happy to accommodate us. Back at the desk, I asked whether our stay could be canceled; they said yes, but that any fees depended on Booking. I’m not naïve—I know Booking always contacts the property to request a fee waiver. We submitted the request and it was immediately rejected.
So, despite not staying at all, our family was forced to pay a substantial amount simply because we dared to travel with a small baby. This was disgraceful, unempathetic, and beyond unacceptable. I will be pursuing this further with hospitality associations.
