FYLDE.AUTO CARE

FYLDE.. Auto Care ...BlackpooL
I had taken my van to filed auto care in Blackpool for a quote after five weeks of their messing me around and keeping hold of my van they told me they couldn't do the job so come and collect it. .when I went to receive my van the engine was in bits and all over my front seats.
they think this is acceptable to give you my vehicle like this.
they have totally ruined it.
now there will be court action to claim the full amount of the worth of the van as it was working before it went there.also trading standards/ombudsman...
avoid this garage completely .
Ruined my van .and now have no vehicle to use. Being a pensioner and disabled thay probably thought I would not take any action......LOOK ON THERE WEBSITE FOR PICS AND VIDEO of how cruel thay are to venerable pensioners.................LATEST UPDATE I have just received an email from them saying if I want them to put the vans engine back to how it was before thay started destroying it .I would be charged £360

Do not use anyone that’s part of the good garage scheme , this is a scam, the idea behind this is that rip off garages sell forte engine oil for these and in return, the good garage scheme will only post positive feed back , the garage that I was in despute with have been complained about many times , even the staff at forte have complained to the company it’s self about this garage , but the garage has 100 % positive feed back , they is a lot involved in this scam all over the country, if you see a garage that has anything to do with the good garage scheme, walk away

Just got ripped off by a goodgaragescheme garage. Didn't fix the repairs that were asked for. Charged extra for parts they said needed changing. Did a brake bleed when I said I didn't want one. Left a wheel sensor wire loose and hanging inside the wheel and left a nut off the front wheel. Should be called the "expletive" garage scheme.

Dispute with local garage.

I used a local garage who are apparently members of the scheme.

The clutch on my Suzuki Alto failed recently and I reminded the arrogant young assistant that they had fitted a new clutch on 10 October 2022 after the failure of a previous new clutch (which they fitted on 27 May 2020). So the first repair lasted about 2 years and four months and the second has now lasted only 1 year and 3 months.

When I expressed astonishment yesterday at this high rate of failure the assistant brazenly implied that it was my wrong use of the clutch that was to blame, which is also what I was told in October 2022. I suspect this is a story they trot out whenever poor quality parts or workmanship contribute to botched repairs. (I have been driving for 60 years and until 2020 I had NEVER ONCE experienced a failed clutch in any of the many cars I have owned, so it’s not my driving skills that are to blame. Moreover I acquired the Suzuki in June 2015, so for the first 5 years my supposed poor use of the clutch did not result in the desperately short term failures that have plagued me after both of their repairs.)

I have referred the matter to the Good Garage Scheme but I am doubtful if they'll do anything. I am now considering going to the Small Claims Court.

We have been kicked off the scheme for not selling a enough of there product. We always put our customer interests first as we are a good garage, this was in conflict with the good garage scheme who are only interested in sales.

Unable to resolve dispute with garage

Used a local garage who was member of the scheme to carry out a repair. They damaged the vehicle after i told them that it was unmarked, and asked them to look at it with me.

On collection I noticed damaged with they denied and asked me for photographic evidence of it not being there. The position of the damage could have only occurred during repair. They also did not carry out the work properly and I had to pay someone else to complete it.

Garage owner was very aggressive and asked me if I wanted to settle the argument with "Punches".

Reported to GGS scheme who offered Mediation service. I took this up and wrote full report, however the Garage refused to mediate so it could not be taken any further.

I would have taken the Garage to the small claims court, but had too many things going on at the time.

Not legit

Based on Good Garage Reviews, I asked a local garage to fit a new nose cone / vallance to a Porsche. Following collection I discovered that they had fitted the cone using cable ties (yes, I did say cable ties). Furthermore, several items were stolen including new wheel bearings and one of the two fire extinguishers, and the track rods were re-fitted incorrectly. As mentioned, I had approached the garage based on their reviews on the Good Garage Scheme, then realised there were no neg reviews whatsoever. Then asking around, heard the garage had been struck off for MOT's, were rumoured to be involved in let's just say, cars with questionable previous ownership etc. I decided to dig a little, so I asked the Good Garage website how "I" could join with my "alleged" "new garage". Yup. You just pay the fee, and they screen the neg reviews, allowing the garage owner to provide feedback to the scheme after which they decide whether to publicly publish. So my conclusion, like may others here, is that the Good Garage Scheme it's simply a money making scam.

This scheme is clearly not impartial

This scheme is clearly not impartial, they appear to be in the pockets of garages and accept and BS response they give! What’s the point in having a scheme like this? I certainly wouldn’t use use a garage based on whether they are a member of the good garage scheme.

After our family run garage had been a member for 12yrs with not a single bad review we were removed from the scheme with out any notification for lack of use of there marketing products. i.e. not spending enough money with them buying there products
12 yrs ago there were 3 mechanics and now there is only myself so the turnover has decreased but they did not take this into consideration.
But never mind we have 3 generations of lovely loyal customers.
Let's hope I can return the GGS stock I have and get a refund but I won't hold my breath

Nothing but an overrated badge of honour from pushy salesmen

As an independent, family-run garage we pride ourselves on offering the service of honest, hard working mechanics who have decades of experience working and training at our business. The 'Good Garage Scheme' initially acted as a stamp of approval to promote this. However, as previous reviewers have stated, this is not the case. They no longer have any interest in the quality of workmanship provided by the Garage and seem interested only in selling as much forte product as possible. They act as if their logo is some kind of qualitative validation when on the contrary, they neither understand nor care about promoting or even establishing the quality of the actual service offered. We decided to withdraw from the scheme due to the mounting pressure from the representative to carry out servicing according to their particular check lists and with forte lubricant used on every service. This particular representative lost our interest due to his attitude during these interactions. The consequent punitive action of photographing and reporting us to the local council for not removing the GGS logo from signage quickly enough is further proof of their petty way of dealing with customers and a bizarrely high opinion of themselves. If you want to ensure you use a 'Good' garage, go on word of mouth rather than rely on a scheme which conducts no qualitative appraisal and is focused only on selling products. As a business, it seems better to promote yourself than to bend to the constraints of salesmen just for their little badge of honour.

Alan Hawkins ( Derby Close Swindon)

After being a customer of this service for over 10 years, the owner and very experienced Alan Hawkins retired for health reasons and in the process handed the runnng of business to his daughter.....BIG mistake.!
Alan was a very experienced and knowlegable vehicle fitter and I always contacted him first for expert advice.
Since his departure I continued to take my car(s) to this service with varying degrees of dissatisfaction, culminating in damage occurring to the interior of my Fiat whilst it was being MOTd...damage which was repeatedly denied had occurred on their premises.
Finally, after quite a while of discussion, they agreed to repair the damage free of charge, still refusing to admit their fault in it's cause. An estimate of 'a couple of weeks' to source a replacement trim was given, but now after waiting over 6 months for some contact with them, it is glaringly obvious that getting me off their premises was their one and only goal.

Hence

0/10 customer service
-10 professionalism
-5 management skills
Avoid at all costs

I used to own a garage

I used to own a garage, when the good garage scheme started the idea and processes behind it was a good idea. The promotion of auditing garages to ensure they met a high standard, making sure customer feedback was driving the business. However after an initial good intention their business model changed dramatically, it now became driven by selling their products "Forte", I received a rude call by one of the directors of the good garage scheme saying we weren't selling enough product, and that we should be using engine flush and fuel treatments in every service, I said I only used them if the customer wanted them, explaining the possible benefits etc. However most customers declined and just had regular services.

Apparently this wasn't good enough and we MUST use their products in EVERY service.

I told him I wasn't a sales company and the fact we signed up to the good garage scheme was to promote just that.

However the reputation of what the good garage scheme was staring to become was now having a negative impact on trade where customers reading reviews on Google turned elsewhere.

I left the good garage scheme, told then to stick their business ideas where the sun doesn't shine

As for the reviews on their website, yes. They're doctored, you fill in the review, post it back to them, then the garage gets to choose which feedback they want publishing which completely undermines the idea in the first place.

Needless to say I'm now free of the scamming thieves, good luck to them,

You reap what you sow. RiP good garage scheme 🖕

TERRIBLE

AA man towed my wife here stating it was a good garage for finding faults. They had the car for 8 WEEKS!! Communication was practically non-existent throughout.

According to the Trading Standards Code of Practise, a garage should not proceed with repairs unless they have been given authorisation from the consumer. No such authorisation was given. We received a bill of £440 and had to arrange for the car to be TOWED AWAY. We booked the car in with the dealer (Should of done that initially) and two days later the car was fixed and able to be picked up. According to the dealer, it was a battery cable that had previously had a bad repair. I cant prove that this garage was responsible for this bad repair but what is clearly obvious is their inability to spot the problem from the outset. The AA actually towed the car away free of charge as an apology for suggesting this garage. We spoke to Trading Standards who advised to speak to the garage but we want nothing more to do with them ever.
