Google likes to take over everything.

Google likes to take over everything.
I used to use Google Pay without a problem but one credit card was refused by a seller.
Almost impossible to find out why.
The Google website is like wading through a quagmire.
Looks like the end of my relationship with them.
I dread to think what phoning their customer service is like.

How could Google get it so wrong?!

Its crashes constantly, always fun when you have a queue of people behind you. The app is sluggish especially when switching cards. I never needed my wallet when I had Apple pay (it could be trusted) but now I have to carry it constantly as I never know if Google pay will work.

Dont use Google Pay for US$ payments if you are paying in UK£

Google Pay permanently use the wrong exchange rate on US$ to UK £ transactions......for instance if the payment is for $100 they charge me and you £126, instead of £80.Basically they are ripping you off by a margin of nearly 50%!!!!!(All payments were for Huuge Casino)
I had initially used this for over a year with the correct rate applied, but in the last year the exchange rate has always been wrong .Despite complaining to them on numerous occasions nothing has been done. DONT use Google pay for US$ based payments.

Totally rubbish.

Totally rubbish.
I have a Google pixel 7 phone and when I try to pay, all it does is confirm my card, my bank takes a temporary £1 charge then nothing else
The payment screen goes blank again, asking for the same thing, over and over again, so in the end I can't actually pay.
What a waste of time, I've deleted the app and it's still doing it 🤷🏻🤷🏻

Not secure enough.

Not secure enough.
Soon as you unlock your phone, GP presents your card for payment.
There should be another level so you enter second pin.
That way letting your mate make a phone call or the guy doing a service on your phone cannot lead to 'unkown' transactions.

They hold your CLEARED transfer 5 extra days for NO reason!!!

I did a transfer from linked bank account to Google pay on a Friday. Monday morning your can clearly see my bank cleared the money and there are NO pending transaction. But Google pay refuses to clear funds for another 5 yes 5 business days. They are holding up funds for absolutely no reason other then they can. Will be closing account and letting friends and family know what games these people play with your hard earned money!!

At first super negative but for now it’s oke

I was super negative at first (to much reading and to difficult to find the answer) but now I think it will be resolved. and to help others avoid those annoying irritations after transferring money that does not arrive but has been debited, read below and do the following:

After calling 0800 0201038, I got an employee on the phone who explained to me that I have to buy a gift card via beltegoed.nl for the needed amount.
Then you will receive an email of your order and somewhere below you will find a Google Play code that you must fill in after clicking on the link. After that, your Google Pay account will be increased. I hope this prevents a lot of irritation for others who are also experiencing this.

When my missing but debited payments are refunded within 14 days as promised, I will give Google pay 4 stars instead of 3 stars. 5 stars only if I hadn't had to search so long on their website for the solution!

Thank you Rinan of Google

I use Google pay when paying for Royal…

I use Google pay when paying for Royal Mail postage on their click 'n' drop website. I use this procedure a lot for my mail order business. Afew weeks ago, something changed with Google pay. Whereas it had previously been a reliable payment method, now it has become a horrible glitchy one. No-one has bothered to fix anything either. I should be able to click on the Google Pay link ONCE for payment to go through. However, now, all I get is endless buffering. It has just taken me 8 clicks to get to make one payment. My own personal record is 9 clicks to process one transaction. Usually it takes 3-5 clicks. What on erth is going on? Why won't a giant company like Google actually fix it????

Would get negative stars if I could.

Would get negative stars if I could.
I tried several times to have issues with wrongfully charges on my card.
I did what everyone would and send in a reimbursement ticket, which actually shouldn't be needed in the first place.
They both times declined my ticket and It also took so long, that when I tried getting my bank to help it was too late.
Be carefull trusting this app and if mistakes happens, go straight to your bank at once and don't waste time expecting Google will help you.
Personally I'm gonna switch to Samsung wallet and hope they are able to manage my money with respect and proper security.

Cannot afford the money to go to the Small Claims Courts or the time busy surviving.

So subscribed to a business for one…

So subscribed to a business for one month and asked them to cancel. Could cancel any time. Just to make sure I ordered a brand new card with new card details. The company kept trying to take money from my old blocked card. As soon as my new card details were uploaded to Google pay the company were then able to take £23.10 from my bank account. Your card details are not safe on Google pay. This also happened to me with a wix website subscription. I will never use Google wallet again.

Unable to add new card

Unable to add new card. Should be simple but evidently not.
My bank verified my new card was fine with no issues. They attempted to troubleshoot me through the Google Wallet app with no joy.
Contacted Google over a week ago, all their suggestions have failed and I'm left having to wait 24-48hrs for each response.
At the time of this review, still no resolution but interestingly I've managed to add the card to Samsung Pay+ with zero issues.
Highly recommend not wasting your time with this App.

Would rate less if i could

Would rate less if i could. Have taken a payment from me, unable to tell me what for, unable to tell me by who, just that their "systems" are unable to prove fraud so there is nothing they can do. Responses by email are non-sensical, dont answer anything you ask, my correspondence with them is currently 25 emails long and still no further forward. Awaiting contact details to take them to small claims court. Absolute scammers

UPDATE NOW OVER 40 EMAILS - THIS IS THE STANDARD OF EMAIL RECEIVED JUST CONTINUALLY TELLING YOU TO GO TO YOUR BANK (who have no details, and googlepay wont share these)

I understand your frustration, and I apologize for any inconvenience you've experienced in this matter. I truly appreciate your patience and persistence in resolving this issue.

I want to clarify that the reason we have been suggesting you contact your bank is because, from our end, the claim has already been thoroughly reviewed and rejected based on the evidence available to us. However, I understand that you believe the charges to be unauthorized and have already discussed this with your bank.

I appreciate your desire for transparency in our investigation process. While I understand your frustration, I regret to inform you that we are unable to disclose specific details of our internal investigation process or the information we checked, as this is proprietary and sensitive information.

However, I want to assure you that our investigation involved a comprehensive review of the transaction records, including authentication and authorization details etc. These measures were taken to ensure a fair assessment of the situation.

Regarding your question about what to discuss with your bank, we recommended reaching out to them because, in cases where we have determined the charges to be legitimate from our end, your bank may be better equipped to provide further assistance. Banks have access to additional resources and can investigate the charges independently from their side.

Be aware of hidden charges. A Real con Google

I use Google pay for commuting. Once you become their regular customer they bring their hidden charges. Initially they saved me money, then all of sudden they were more expensive then the real ticket price. Tested them twice on this. Now convinced that they attract your service and then once you are regular they bring in their hidden charges. Shame on you Google that you charge over the train ticket price. What a con you are
