US Wellness Meats’ Beef Tallow (sometimes known as lard) uses a propriety blend of rendered beef suet and beef fats. It is naturally pure white to light yellow in color and has omega 6:3 ratios which are similar to fish.
When comparing fats for cooking and consumption, remember; all fats are not created equal. Conjugated Linoleic Acid or (CLA) is an omega-6 fatty acid (naturally occurring trans fat) found primarily in Beef and Dairy. Studies have shown these fats may provide a whole host of health benefits. These are very different from the trans fats found in manufactured hydrogenated vegetable oils which have been linked to inflammation and obesity.
The reason why grass-fed is important in this regard is because the amounts of CLA present depends significantly on what the animals eat. By most estimates, grass-fed and grass-finished beef and dairy can be 300-500% richer in CLA than grain-fed animals.

This was my first time purchasing it. I ordered it with 19 packs of ground beef. The lid of the small pail got smashed and shattered. I notified them and they made a suggestion for my next shipping instructions that I submit in my next order. I'm confident it will work out better in my next order. Otherwise, I'm enjoying using this product with my 3 daily organic, pasture-raised eggs, It was a much-needed alternative in my arsenal, after trying ghee recently. I like having the option of both now.

I use this for cooking along with coconut oil. In the last year it seems to have changed slightly; previously it was white and odorless, and now it's not. That might put some people off, but I'm not dead yet ;) You know it's popular because it's frequently out of stock.
