I don't really like going to the dentist, BUT! my experience at Graystone in Hassocks has been nothing other than excellent. I was referred by my regular dentist. The specialist care and information, enabling a greater level of self-care and understanding, not being pushed into anything, warm and professional customer service, and always time given to discuss any questions. Especially Sarah. Thank you for truly excellent experiences.

My wife had substandard private cosmetic dental work in Durham where we lived. She visited her new dentist in Forest Row who, because of my wife’s heart issues, decided she may need more specialised treatment and referred my wife to Graystone. I was present when she met AJ who was very professional in his approach this consultation and a scan costing £600. My wife then got a report from AJ suggesting she needed a further consultation with an even more qualified facial consultant initial cost nearly £400 with more scans costing up to a further £800. At this point we queried that the 2nd “specialist” was going to be asking my wife’s full medical and social history already collected by AJ. The query also established the potential cost for her surgery “would be up to £20-30k due to reconstructive jaw surgery, and you should understand costs are much higher in the south east than the north east where you come from”. Patronising.. At this point we gained her an NHS referral to Kings College Dental in London only to be informed by their leading person that my wife didn’t need the complex work specified by AJ. My wife has subsequently visited another NHS hospital and their specialist saying the same. My advice would be to beware the “rabbit hole” you may be taken into by Graystone, it may involve very high unnecessary costs.
13/4/2026-we were contacted by Sarah the practice manager who asked about our experience, the costs my wife paid that I stated, were actually less with the consultation being £145 + scan charges. Sarah said the letter of referral to Nik their specialist (who is actually in house) was a standard template and shouldn’t have been sent in that format because it repeated what AJ had already done and charged us for. The potential cost of £20-30k is apparently what some of their clients do pay but this could be over time, so poor communication. However, I have to confirm that the specialists in the NHS hospitals who my wife has met, both said the work and costs quoted were unnecessary. Sarah offered to refund my wife’s consultation fee as a gesture of goodwill and I appreciate she engaged with our comments.

From my very first phone call, I felt completely at ease. The practice manager was kind, patient, and took the time to talk me through all the options. I was quickly booked in, and from the moment I arrived, the environment was warm, welcoming, and professional.

Everything was explained clearly, and it was great to know they could offer everything I needed on site. It was also really reassuring to know the team at Graystone all work within the NHS, so their approach is based on best practice and the latest evidence.

The level of care and follow up throughout was outstanding, and it was so reassuring to know I could rely on the whole team for support.

I was referred to Graystone by my regular dentist for a complicated root canal treatment and crown. I found all of the practitioners and support staff very kind and helpful and always happy to discuss any queries or concerns. I would certainly recommend Graystone Referrals.

We wanted to see thank you very much for the wonderful treatment from Emma and all of the younger smiles team. We had a appointment with Emma and her dental nurse and they were so very kind and caring. My Son was very happy and says he likes going to dental appointments. It is a calm and relaxing environment and would highly recommend them.

I had to have a wisdom tooth removed by Nick and in spite of my extreme nervousness, he was able to put me at ease. The service was incredibly professional and I was given a clear plan which alleviated my concerns and having that structure and foresight made me feel incredibly comfortable with the impending procedure.

I was particularly nervous about the sedation but the Anaesthetist Mel walked me through it and again, put me at ease. Sedation was like falling asleep in a car and waking up when you have arrived at your journey. I sat in the chair and woke up to the removal being completed.

I couldn't recommend Graystone highly enough.

I had treatment with Radha the orthodontist I was very impressed with the care that was taken to explain my treatment plan. The warm welcome at reception to the professionalism and treatment i’ve received at each appointment. I am excited to see the results as I progress through treatment. I would recommend anyone to see Radha and her team for their orthodontic needs.

Radha Sunnak is superb. Professional, as well as kind and caring.
As an adult orthodontic work is a tad daunting, she put me at ease from the start and I am over the moon with her work.

I took my son, 9, to this practice because he has an issue with the enamel on his teeth. Emma and Kelly were so kind and gentle and made the experience so much easier. The assessment was really thorough and it’s great to have a plan for treatment that will protect his teeth. My son was really nervous but the team were really patient, caring and reassuring and he came away smiling! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this practice to anyone whose children are anxious about visiting the dentist. Thanks so much guys!

I had a great experience at Graystone referral centre. I had experienced years of living with periodic pain from my wisdom teeth.

During the consultation I received a through explanation and examination, which included a CT scan and a report. The consultation allowed me to understand my options, the procedure and all the risk and benefits in advance, so I was able to make an informed decision comfortably.

I had expected to need an expensive General Anaesthetic but the team were able to provide IV sedation during the removal of two wisdom teeth and a partial removal of a lower wisdom tooth, which was only partially removed to prevent damage to an important facial nerve in my jaw.

The procedure went smoothly and the recovery was a lot less painful than I was expecting. I was informed of what to expect during recovery both during the initial consultation and on the day of the procedure, additionally I received a follow up aftercare call to check up on me. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

in seven months I would lose all my teeth and there was nothing they could do for me. Big Shock

suitable dentist, so am amending my review.and hopefully some of my teeth will survive..

Great experience at Graystone referral centre for a tooth extraction recently. Dr AJ Ray-Chaudhuri and his team were excellent in their manner, Dr Ray-Chaudhuri explained the treatment options clearly and ensured I was relaxed throughout the procedure. After care also very good, with a phone call to ensure no complications after the procedure. Ability to watch a favourite TV programme during the procedure was a welcomed distraction! Thank you AJ and his team. Keep up the fantastic work.

I was referred to Graystone by my dentist. I had an initial consultation with Mr. Ray-Chaudhuri and subsequently agreed to a schedule of treatment leading to a full mouth reconstruction. This began in September 2022 and included the surgical removal of broken teeth and implant therapy. The procedure is now complete and I am extremely delighted with the result. All the staff at the practice are very friendly and attentive. AJ is very personable, professional, thorough, very skilled and a perfectionist. I would be only too pleased to recommend this dental practice to anyone.

At the time I was recommended to contact Greystone, by my hygienist, I was suffering with intense pain in my jaw. After my initial call to them I was quickly booked in (sdame day) and had a CT scan of the jaw resulting in a diagnosis that my own dentist had been unable to provide. At all time I found them highly professional, courteous, knowledgeable, friendly, informative and extremmely willing to work with me towards a resolution to my jaw infection. This extended to not only providing an email copy of an X-Ray but also access to the CT scan images via a secure web site and a data stick. This enabled the maxilio facial surgeons to quickly see what the issue was and provide a permanent soution. I have no hesitation in recommending the centre and will certainly contact them agin should the need arise.

Amazing Dentists, great customer care. I am not fond of visiting dentists. But Dr Chaudhury had me relaxed and calm.

My 11year old son is needle phobic and has ADHD. After a nasty fall he needed a root canal treatment on his front tooth. Emma was fantastic. She talked me through the procedure so I could prepare him prior. Whilst in the chair she managed the treatment beautifully so that he came through the procedure without being traumatised. I can’t thank the team enough.
