Trip itself was good but too much on the trains. Guide very good. The hotel in Switzerland was Ok but the food that was served up was absolutely terrible. It’s just a pity we were so isolated because we would have gone out somewhere else to get food.

It had some really good bits but some disappointing. There was a long journey via Strasbourg with several; rushed changes. The Bernina Express was cramped and uncomfortable. useless for photography. The MAIN hotel was adequate but the menu uninspiring.

A very enjoyable team effort by all my fellow travellers. Very busy and very enjoyable. The food provided one the first night in Strasbourg didn't come up to standard, but the rest of the meals at the main hotel in Tiefencastel and Basel made up for it. Looking forward to my next All Inclusive with GRJ.

What a wonderful holiday. We are familiar with Swiss trains and the Alps, but still found the scenery spectacular. Our travel group was too big, but our leader did a marvellous job of making sure 40 adults caught all the trains. She looked after us so well for the whole week, helped by the fact that we had a very friendly and sociable group. The journeys were tiring some days, due to many changes of trains, but more than made up for by the scenery. I would recommend the luggage transfer service, which our group of 3 took advantage of, and were pleased we had. The hotel was very convenient for the trains, but would have been improved by being in a slightly busier village with more facilities. Although there wasn’t a choice of meals, the food was lovely, making use of local ingredients where possible, and cooked well. Packed lunches were basic but adequate, All in all good value for a trip to Switzerland which is a very expensive country to visit.

Itinerary intense, too many trains. 1 tour manager to 40 people not acceptable. Hotel in Switzerland had no leisure areas, eg.no Nice bar with lounging seating. Food okay but too much pork meals. Staff were pleasant but not exceptional. The tour content not acceptable to 70 plus age.

Excellent holiday - such an amazingly beautiful and pristine clean country. Just so much more than I had expected it to be, but the villages and scenery just as I had imagined with pretty churches, cow sheds, houses with flower boxes and cows with bells.

Trip advertised as 'All Inclusive' - it isn't! Too much on and off trains carting heavy bags - not too good if you are elderly. Scenery brilliant, Bernina Express and Glacier Express superb, Tour manager John wonderful and definitely the redeeming factor, would have been three stars without him. Hotel for five night stay distinctly average

This trip was very different from our tour of Scotland with Great Rail Journeys in 2024. We spent too many long days on trains, and we had to move our luggage multiple times on many of those days. The scenery was beautiful, but we learned nothing about the Swiss people and life in Switzerland. Our tour manager was fabulous: organized, enthusiastic and caring.

This all inclusive trip was fabulous and extremely good value for money. The hotel, comfortable and well placed for access to the station which was an uphill walk, however, the local bus was timed to, coincide with the trains and some of the group took this option. The trip was made most successful by our excellent tour guide Gordon who went over and above to ensure everything ran smoothly. I can’t recommend this trip highly enough.

Wonderful experience. Our week was very full & we experienced truly breathtaking scenery. The trip was very well organised & tailored for everyone's needs. Our guide Gordon was very knowledgeable & did everything in his power to make sure everything went well. Different options on days out were given so you could make up your mind what to do. All three hotels on our trip although all very different were of very good quality & the quality of food was also very good. Wonderful experience.

Scenery is stunning but accommodation and food poor, apart from last night. The company does not use local guides so there is no insight into Swiss life/history/culture. If you want to be herded from one train to another, often using the same line, then the holiday might be for you.

Very nice holiday but the hotel we stayed in was down the bottom of a very steep hill even for able bodied people it was a struggle also the food was very repetitive
