Excellent experience, Mandy our tour guide was absolutely on the ball, friendly and unlike a lot of tours I have been on she was part of the group which was refreshing. We learnt a lot, given info about where we were going and then left to explore in our own time. However the hotel we stayed at in Tiefencastel had some sort of salt excess that meant our meals were very salty. The ‘Local’ trains were great as you could lower the glass windows to get reflection free photos, so we could enjoy the view and take pictures. But on the Special trains this was not the case as there was no way to reduce reflections as the glass was fixed. Luckily this 5 hour trip was the last and basically we were photo’d out by then! And of course the views were stunning, although not much glacier spotting as we went in summer! All in all a great experience made better by Mandy.

Good quality hotels. Excellent tour manager and as a single traveller lovely tour companions. Full day itineraries but with plenty of time to yourself. And of course the trains ran on time.

Great base in Tiefencastel for all the train journeys undertaken. Lovely hotel, good food and a decent packed lunch every day. A couple of days we were on a few trains to get to destinations with quite tight timings. Not a holiday for those with mobility issues and please take a cabin size case!

I enjoyed the trip but there were too many changes of train (some unnecessary as there was a non-stop alternative) with too little time allowed for the change. Thi# was particularly stressful if luggage and/or change of platform was involved.

Travelling to and from our destination was a nightmare and the food was mediocre at best except for our last night. Our travel guide Sanje was delightful and very helpful. The actual Glacier Express was stunning.
Lots of humping luggage around
Fabulous holiday in great company, comfortable hotels, good food and an amazing tour guide. Thoroughly recommended.

We had a brilliant time on this tour. Everything was fully as described and the standard of our 3 star accommodation was high. Good food throughout. Great company and a particular mention to our tour guide, Cat, who was excellent.
