Insider Athens planned an amazing 2-week trip to Greece for my husband and me! They provided a custom itinerary that met our exact interests and priorities, including having tours and activities focused on history, mythology, culture, and food. They also removed the typical friction and stress associated with travel by selecting great hotels, providing restaurant recommendations, and setting up transportation. They provided great information on places to check out including common sites and lesser known spots. They also developed an itinerary that had many great activities, but wasn't overly packed so were able to enjoy ourselves and relax a bit.

A few of our highlights were a private tour of the Acropolis and Parthenon, a private tour of the Palace of Knossos, a food tour in Chania, and walking around Athens on our first day and just experiencing how the modern and ancient co-exist.

Our trip included about 5 days in Athens, 5 days in Crete, and a 4-day mainland tour. We had originally looked for small group tours but did not find an option that fit our priorities. Insider Athens developed a custom itinerary that led to an amazing vacation. Thank you to Anna for all your help in planning and providing real-time support when we were in Greece!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about my experience with Marianna at Greece Insiders. Not only did she plan a wonderful vacation for my family, but once we were in Greece and actually on the vacation, Marianne was always available via WhatsApp in case I had questions or needed a last minute change. This is the first time that traveling as a solo parent with two kids actually felt like a bona fide vacation. If I could give her more than five stars, I would!

Barbara did a wonderful job of planning accommodations and activities that met the requests of our family. She was readily available to answer questions and make changes as requested. They went above and beyond to anticipate needs and adjust itinerary to maximize good weather and make the most of rainy days. The guides and drivers they work with were very hospitable and full of knowledge and suggestions to make the most of our visit. Wish she could plan all of our vacations!!!!

We traveled to Greece in January 2026, and our trip was organized by Barbara from Greece Insiders. She was exceptional—thorough, meticulous in her planning, and attentive to every detail. The entire trip was tailored perfectly to our needs. Even when we faced challenges with weather and flight cancellations, Barbara was available at all times and efficiently helped us find alternative solutions.The itinerary was thoughtfully designed, offering a perfect balance between guided tours and free time for us to explore independently. We never felt rushed and were able to visit all the major attractions at a comfortable pace.Accommodation: All the hotels were comfortable and conveniently located in central areas.Guides: All the guides were extremely knowledgeable and genuinely invested in ensuring we had a memorable experience. Alex (Chania), Erini (Athens), Penny (Delphi), and Panos (Santorini) were all outstanding. Panos, in particular, went out of his way to show us even more attractions than originally planned.Transportation: All vehicles were comfortable, and the drivers were always punctual, often pointing out important landmarks along the way. Janus (Athens) was especially kind and helpful.Overall, we had a truly warm and welcoming experience. Thank you for making our trip so memorable. I highly recommend Greece Insiders to friends and family, and we will certainly be in touch if we visit Greece again.

Our Family enjoyed our Greece vacation to the fullest with lifetime memories! Our 18-day trip for 6, developed by Silia Laspa and the Greece Insiders team, was fabulous. As I see it, the purpose of the tour operator is to (1) select high-quality transfers, hotels, and tour guides, (2) ensure the entire itinerary holds together seamlessly, and (3) assist if there are problems. Greece Insiders did a GREAT job on all of these items as noted below.

Athens
- Hotel Perianth was a very nice property in a beautiful location. We liked the busy “vibe” of the area, including the restaurants and shopping. The interior of the hotel was great; we enjoyed the gathering area outside our rooms (we enjoyed the complimentary bottle of wine there).
- Apollo did a very nice job on the tour of Athens. While we had seen the Parthenon before, we had arrived at the entrance by car. We walked this time, which was a wonderful change.

Santorini
- The Agali Houses were spectacular. I think this was probably our favorite location on the trip, in part because of the nature/quality of the lodging.
- Vasiliki at Agali Houses was spectacular. She was helpful beyond measure.
- Silia’s restaurant recommendations on Santorini were spot-on. Aktaion Restaurant was a great, chill location and the staff was friendly and helpful. Metaxi Ma was probably one of our favorite restaurants on the trip.
- Related to guides on the island, Marina and Tanya were wonderful. We thoroughly enjoyed Marina’s personality, and the depth of Tanya’s knowledge abot Akrotiri was remarkable.
- We did elect to go through the Lost Atlantis 9D experience. We would NOT do that again, and would recommend it to others only if they have children with them.
- The catamaran tour was wonderful; we were lucky becuase that day was not windy.

Heraklion, Crete
- The Megaron Hotel was very nice and in a good location for exploring. The Megaron probably had the most spectacular breakfast of all the places we stayed! WOW!
- We particularly enjoyed the fort and, of course, Knossos.
- Our guide at Knossos and the museum was our least favorite by far, for reasons shared separately with Greece Insiders.
- Our drivers, Eleftheria and Kostas Perakis were wonderful!
- The Lasthisi Plateau (my request) did not live up to my expectations, but the drive to and from the plateau was well worth the time and effort!

Rethymnon, Crete
- The Avli Hotel and Restaurant were great! We loved our rooms, the location, and the rooftop patio. This was probably my favorite location of the trip.
- We very much enjoyed touring the Fortezza Fortress, the maritime museum, and walking around the old town.
- The Avli and Lemonokipos restaurants were our favorites in this location.
- We enjoyed our time with Nikos on our driving tour of the area. The Arkadi Monestery and pottery shop were a highlight. The Cretanthos Olive Park was not terribly interesting perhaps because no olive oil tasting was included in our tour.

Chania, Crete
- Our lodging at Casa Delfino was, of course, spectacular! What wonderful rooms.
- Our tours, and particularly our tour guides, were great. We thoroughly enjoyed Ariadni and Aphroditi. They were obviously very knowledgeable, very friendly, and engaged with our group.
- Probably our favorite activity was the cooking class with Giorgos and Popi. The location in the foothills of the White Mountains with of view of the mountains and sea was spectacular. Giorgos breaking out his 55 year-old wine for us, and feeding their goats, were a highlight. And, the food was great! Popi did a wonderful job leading us in creating our lunch.
- We thoroughly enjoyed Babis as our guide for the drive. He was wonderful.
- Giannis was a great guide for our last tour, the 7 Village Tour. We enjoyed this group tour and meeting others touring Crete.

In General
- We loved the amount of free time to allow us to do what we wanted, whether together or separately.
- The group appreciated that Silia “checked-in” via WhatsApp during the trip.
- The various gifts from Greece Insiders and from the onsite tour companies were appreciated. I think we have enough Raki to last us a while!

I just returned home from a fabulous trip to Greece organized by Eleni Drogouli at Greece Insiders. Over two weeks, we experienced the history, beauty, culture and modern day life of Greece. While planning the trip with her, I noticed that she was extremely reliable and responsive to my requests. She developed a trip that ensured we would visit the key sites but also built in time for relaxation and independent exploration - in other words, that we really got to enjoy our vacation. Her recommendations of hotels, restaurants and activities were spot on and her attention to detail made us all feel like we were well taken care of. Importantly, while in Greece, she made herself available to us and checked in periodically to make sure everything was running smoothly. I have worked with other excellent travel agents in the past but Eleni is in a class by herself. I highly recommend hiring Eleni and Greece Insiders for your own amazing trip to Greece!

Elena helped plan a perfect girls getaway trip to Athens, Meteora and Crete. She accommodated our desires to have a balance of history, sightseeing and relaxing beach time. All our hotels were clean, comfortable and located walking distance from the city centers with a delicious breakfast buffet included. Our drivers and guides were friendly and knowledgeable. Once we were there Barbara was our coordinator who was very responsive to questions and any issues that we faced. She even helped locate a phone that was left behind on a tour bus in Aegina. We had a blast and I would highly recommend Greece Insiders to anyone planning a trip to Greece.

We were a large group of friends. Everything was well organized. The hotels were in heart of the cities and were very comfortable. The tour guides were friendly and knowledgeable. Barbara was always available to help with the issues. The icing on the cake was the wonderful welcome basket we received when we checked in! Very thoughtful!

Our vacation to Athens and Santorini was absolutely fantastic from start to finish thanks to Elena. The entire experience was seamless, beautifully planned, and filled with unforgettable moments.

In Athens, our guide brought history to life — sharing stories, hidden details, and insights that made the ancient sites truly come alive. Walking through the Acropolis and Plaka district felt like stepping back in time, and each of our guide’s passion for Greek culture made every stop special.

Santorini was equally breathtaking. From the stunning caldera views to the charming whitewashed villages, it was pure magic. Our guides there were equally superb — warm and knowledgeable.

Every detail was handled perfectly, and the guides went above and beyond to make sure we had an amazing experience. This trip exceeded all expectations — we can’t recommend it highly enough!

4000 years of Greek history and 6000 islands (227 inhabited) are hard to navigate without a trusted tour agency.

Luckily I found Greece Insiders, who put together an intentional and heart-felt 1.5 week itinerary that spoke directly to my interests. I wanted history, laidback beaches, and jaw dropping sights in a compact schedule. To “see it all” in 10 days is an ambitious task, but Greece Insiders excelled with an itinerary with everything I wanted without feeling rushed. Daily tours and free time too! - having the time to collect my thoughts and reflect is vital to connecting with a destination. Being in Greece is both about the big - Acropolis, Santorini - and the small - the perfect homemade marmalade from a local tavern I’ll never find again, a cat lazing in the sun. Greece Insiders allowed time for serendipity and quiet moments, priceless memories that exist just for me.

Guides can be hit or miss. But it was clear the ones organized through Greece Insiders were vetted. Most had the ability to pace forward without feeling intrusive. “We still have a cake but why don’t we pack it so you’ll have something to savor for later in the day?” suggested my affable guide on a food tour in Naxos. It was only later in my villa that I realized this was the guide’s charming way to get us to the next spot on the tour while we were eating too slowly. He always said to take our time. We never felt rushed. And we loved having a sweet snack while watching the sunset from our rooftop. Other guides took us to hidden spots - who knows if they are actually hidden but it felt that way, having magnificent places to ourselves even in heavily touristed destinations. Most of our tours (all except one) were private and the guides were mostly open to suggestions so it felt very much curated just for us.

I don’t recall talking about food besides clarifying dietary restrictions (none) with the agency, but many of our guided experiences were about food or had a tasting component. What a welcome surprise! Greece Insiders knows nothing feels more welcoming than an abundance of food. Food is a national obsession and it is delicious - wholesome and flavorful. I often left tours completely full. Even guides would sometimes surprise with culinary gift, or treat us to a coffee and baklava stop on a walking tour. On our car trip to Meteora the driver had a large basket full of snacks. I later discovered out that Greece Insiders introduced food tours to Athens when it was founded.

I usually organize my own travels. I’ve been to Greece before a few times. I know some things but I am definitely not an expert. Even in places I had been before like Athens, I could feel the Greece Insiders difference: more knowledgeable and more efficient. I learned more, I saw more, and I wasn’t the one carrying the burden of entertaining myself and organizing my day. Even in the moments without a guide, I felt less pressure on myself to “not get lost” and find things to do. The orientation tour reinforced my bearings, and I knew I had someone who would take me to the important landmarks so I could just wander and explore and take in the city. While I have organized my own travels many times, it was such a pleasure having someone take care of all the logistics and be on top of all moving parts. When a boat tour was canceled, Greece Insiders came back with two alternatives. If I was the one who had to fix my schedule, I would have been stressed out trying to find a last minute plan calling offices that probably closed for the day instead of enjoying a wine tasting.

For a place like Greece, which is both so large in possibilities and ineffectively catalogued, having an “insider” working for me made my trip much more enjoyable. When it’s Greece Insiders, who conscientiously puts together itineraries tailored just for its guests, the result is an incredible experience better than one I could curate on my own. For your once in a lifetime trip, shouldn’t you go with an insider? I’m glad I did.

My husband and I knew we wanted to go to Greece and Italy for our honeymoon but didn't even know where to start. We stumbled upon Greece Insiders and are SO thankful we did! From the beginning, Silia was so warm and helpful, and truly showed she wanted to make our trip the memorable experience we hoped it could be. She started by helping us narrow down locations, to something feasible but still allowing us to see, do, and experience everything we wanted to, and then she made our itinerary. You have the option to book excursions through them, where transfers and everything are set up for you, but due to financial reasons my husband and I ended up only doing a few, and booking the rest of our tours and things on our own. Silia was great throughout that process, helping us customize our plan to something we were comfortable with and excited for. Ultimately our itinerary with Greece Insiders ended up being two excursions and all of our hotels and transportation between the stops. My husband and I said multiple times throughout the trip that those two things being planned out and handled for us, relieved SO much stress! That's always the stressful part of trips anyway, so having that already handled allowed us to enjoy our time abroad even more. Silia even had a cute goodie basket waiting for us when we got to our first stop in Greece after visiting Italy! They truly are so thoughtful and we cannot recommend Silia at Greece Insiders enough!!

Our trip to Athens, Naxos, and Santorini was exceptionally well planned for us. All transfers for on time and easy to find. Our guides were knowledgeable, friendly, patient, and helpful. Our accommodations were perfect. All-in-all, this was a very good vacation and we recommend Greece Insiders to others.

Elena is outstanding and always comes through for me! I love this agency! You simply tell them the islands you'd like to visit and the attractions you'd like to see. You're NOT constantly getting on buses with big groups. You go at your own leisurely pace! Elena sees that all of your connections are met! The drivers, the ferrys, the flights (within Greece) the pickups and the drop offs! It's imperative that you start a WhatsAp account so that you can text back and forth when needed! Elena is wonderful to work with and I love this agency!

Amazing trip to Greece! Julia was great from the planning process throughout the trip to our final departure. She was professional, attentive, & responsive. Our transfers, tours, lodging, & suggestions were first class! Based on Julia’s recommendations, we travelled to Athens, Naxos, Paros, & Santorini. Boutique lodging accommodations were conveniently located within walking distance to restaurants, shopping, beaches & local attractions. Julia was available for any questions & checked on us during the trip & was always very responsive to any questions. Transfers, including air, ground & ferry, were luxurious & always on time. The tours she arranged were fantastic & perfectly suited to our tastes & included a variety of activities w/ professional companies & guides (Acropolis, flavors of Greece, tours of ancient ruins & villages, tasting of local cuisine, cruises, wine & cheeses). Elena organized our 10 day itinerary to Athens, Mykonos, and Santorini. The trip was wonderful and well put together. The transportation was excellent and on time. The excursions were all wonderful. We really enjoyed our time in Greece, and it helps to have a well organized vacation.
