I have owned a Green mountain grill for 14 years. I also own a new one. I get great smoke flavor. There customer service is top notch as well. I have been competing on the KCBS with a GMG for a long time. They are amazing smokers.

I was a Weber Kettle guy all my life and took a leap of faith on a Green Mountain Daniel Boone pellet grill for low and slow projects like brisket. After 3 years, the verdict is in, charcoal rocks -- pellets not so much. GMG makes a good product and the service is very friendly, but my grill has sat on a covered patio, under a GMG vinyl cover in sunny southern California, and it's showing signs of rust, everywhere. My Weber is 20 yrs old and the exterior is flawless. The GMG finish just does not hold up. It cooks okay, but the smoke doesn't seem to stick to the food. BBQ is all about the smoke, to me. I like more smoke flavor than the pellets can deliver. I've cleaned up my GMG and put on CL for a song.

GMG power supply & cords suck
I have had nothing but problems with my 2019 XMAS gift GMG DAVY CROCKET.
First the power connection was cheap and very unreliable, it was so easy to accidentally lose power.
I have used this thing 10-15 times at the most, one time tossed a $40 pork roost in the trash after a failed smoke due to above mentioned cord.
Anyways not getting any power at all on the display
People say what great support they have, and I have to disagree. It is all automatic and now I cannot even get in contact with the support chat.
Sorry but I am not about to start buying every part that makes up this grill. No power displayed as I told the support a couple days ago, 99% sure it's the controller. Auger & fan both will turn.
Wish I could give zero stars, my in-law's spent $500 for a XMAS gift that is about to be tossed to the curb

Daniel Boone Grill
I have a basic Daniel Boone Grill no wifi nothing fancy . It looked great off the start but over all it has been more of a problem than not . Has caused way more grief than good. For the price I would not recommend these grills .There are cost effective makes that are better.

This produc is absolute rubbish. Orga keep jaming using GMG pellets. Pizza over had three stones crack in the first year untill warranty ran out. I gave up at this point. Paint coming off and rust. WiFi keeps failing. Power plug has power cut in and out so any movement of the grill will remove the power.
DO NOT WAST YOUR MONEY. DO NOT PURCHASE GMG GRILL.

All the consumables - thermocouple and hot rod igniter are not available in the UK which makes this piece of crap a very expensive garden ornament. I love wifi pellet grills but having to take it apart to grill is nonsensical where is the convenience. DO NOT I repeat DO NOT buy this grill if what you are looking for is peace of mind.

GMG is one of the worst companies
GMG is one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with. I have waited 10 months to get an auger for my Daniel Boone grill. As of today I gave up and had to scrap the whole grill. Every time I called they said it was arriving the end of the month. Never showed up. I had asked if they could give some kind of a discount on a new one but were not willing to do so because it was out of warranty. Not sure how they stay in business not being able to supply parts. I would not recommend this product to nobody.

STAY VERY FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AND IT'S PRODUCTS
I have had two separate warranty issues with my Green Mountain Grill (Control Panel and Grease Tray). Not only is the smoker piece of s***, it is impossible to get any warranty parts. They made it impossible to talk with anyone in customer service by design. Their customer service reps thru e-mail are as incompetent as they come.

Bought my new green mtn grill just over a yr ago had 3 warranty claims in 1 yr just after a yr the grill would not build heat replaced part after they said no more warranty would not heat over 125 scrapped the grill bought different brand with 3 yr warranty . Customer Service is in the toilet
For 9 months, we loved our Trek grill. I bragged on it to everyone who would listen. It fit our RV lifestyle perfectly. Then it started having temperature issues. I went back and forth with customer support, sending them spreadsheets of the set temp vs actual temp. They finally agreed that there was a problem with the control board and promised to send me one. The problem is the board is out of stock. I've been waiting for 6 months and now they've quit responding to my emails.
I guess I'm going to buy a Traeger. It's a shame, because when it worked it worked great.

My GMG Trek - terrible quality - support
My GMG Trek is 8 months old and stopped working. (Start up sequence fails when the fan is supposed to start). I was able to finally get some support but did not resolve the issue. Now, after direct wiring the fan as they recommended, a puff of smoke toasted the fan. Naturally I cannot get any further response from them regarding parts under warranty / replacement, IF I could rate the value of Green Mountain as a product and a company, it would be ZERO. As is the company I purchased from, (BBQ Guys), who also will not respond.

The app is a complete failure
The app is a complete failure. The grill cannot connect to WiFi and without WiFi you cannot adjust the probes. The probes are way off by several degrees.

Our First Smoker-A Sad Experience
Another Update July 8, 2024: It's still working.
UPDATE: We finally received the control panel on August 24th and so far our smoker is working.
We bought for the first time ever a smoker, we heard good things from friends about Green Mountain Grills. So we bought the GMG Ledge in October 2022.
It stayed in it's box for about a month or so due to not having time to put it together. When we did find the time to assemble it, we tested it out immediately. It was great!
We smoked again and our experience went downhill from there like a snowball headed to Hell.
We did find a phone number, but it was emails thereafter. We followed their instructions to the letter. Nothing worked, the temperature would go up to the recommended heat and quit(turn off). They decided it's the control panel AND it's on backorder(May 12, 2023). Still on backorder as of this writing this review(July 4, 2023). The emails started strong between Support and us, now they're pretty much nonexistent since they told us the panel was on back order, in other words, no updates unless I email them and it took 8 days for a reply the last time I asked for an update.
Sad to say, no offers to replace or reimburse us for a defective grill. If they had we'd be one of their biggest fans and this would have been a more positive review!
Question: if they're still making the grills aren't the control panels available?
Sorry to say, I don't think we'll be buying a Green Mountain Grill in the near future.
