Worst insurance company !!!

Worst insurance company, hidden charges plus they double charged a month in advance because they knew your eventually going to cancel with them so they grab a month in advance expecting your going to close your account.
Don’t use GreenShield it’s a scam.
So many papers to read it’s impossible to understand plus the sales people are also false truth salespeople.

Greenshield in error wrote me to tell me that my coverage had been reduced and certain medications were no longer covered. Green shield continually asks from your Doctors why you are on this medication without consulting you on your health condition. They are the abosolute worst insurance company to deal with,

Very frustrating

Very frustrating! I’ve tried to access online coaching only to be met with tech glitches at each turn. The first was booking an intake appointment: their calendar system was ineffective. That had to be sorted out with multiple phone calls. The second was meeting with a coach: their notification system sent each of us different time zones so the appointment didn’t happen. Terrible customer service.

Awful company

Awful company. They needed proof of common law between me and my spouse but didn't tell us so I wasn't covered. Fixed that problem.
They spelled my name wrong this time, okay, easy. Fixed that problem too.
Went to the dentist to find out they're saying I have other insurance. I haven't had any other insurance since I lived with my parents.
This has all been on all forms my fiance and I filled out originally.
Best case scenario we only have to pay a couple hundred out of pocket now. Worst case scenario we're on the hook for thousands of dollars because this company can't communicate or get their sh*t together

What a horrible company.

What a horrible company.
Greenshield never accepts the full amount I am charged by a national pharmacy claiming they charge over the average price in my area.

Well I asked Greenshield to show me where I can get my drugs at the price they claim I should pay for it, but they cannot.

I have been with Desjardins, Canada Life, Sunlife and BlueCross. Never has a health insurance provider ever rejected claims except Greenshield.

Absolutely the worst health care provider around.

Very disappointed in this insurance…

Very disappointed in this insurance company. And forced to pay any to this because my employer is a part of it. So I have no choice but to give 300 bucks a month for this company. Only to be denied coverage of my prescription safety glasses which have been covered by any other benefits company I've used. Also we're supposed to have coverage for counselors. After spending $200 for a counselor for my son we were denied for that as well.

I am extremely dissatisfied with Green…

I am extremely dissatisfied with Green Shield. Every time I call, I have to wait on hold for over an hour, only to receive unhelpful responses. I have emailed them multiple times, explaining that I urgently need this medication and asking for a prompt response, but it has been nearly a month, and I haven’t received any reply. I don’t understand why they show no concern for their customers.

Claim denied because the prescribing doctor was a dermatologist

My claim for drug coverage was denied because it was prescribed by a dermatologist. When I called and asked for an explanation the customer service representative claimed that "dermatologists aren't even covered by OHIP" Incorrectly assuming that dermatologists only do cosmetic procedures, and nothing you go to a dermatologist for is medically necessary. To be clear this is demonstrably false and OHIP has covered plenty of medically necessary dermatology visits in the past for me. I would love to believe that the person responsible for the claim decision has a better understanding of medicine but really, there is only evidence to the contrary.

Greenshield, sucks the big one

Greenshield, by far the worst company I've ever had to deal with, maybe besides Telus. I waited on hold for an hour only to be rudely treated and snubbed by some Representative that seemed like he had so many better things to do than help me out. I would give you zero Stars if I could because I never actually got anything accomplished. You guys suck the big one.. if I was an employee I would be embarrassed and ashamed of collecting a paycheck from greenshield. Their phone system is an absolute joke. I was on hold for over an hour. By far the worst company in existence. you would be better off getting insurance from some guy in a van down by the river... Useless. Useless useless

The call waiting is awful

The call waiting is awful, I waited 2 hours and 11 minutes to speak to someone about my claim. Only to find out they have not processed my coverage request that was made at the end of December, and it is now March 4th.

From what I’ve heard and experienced thru friends I would NEVER recommend this company. Insurance companies should be held accountable but instead just take your money and never do what they say
This is the VERY WORST OF THE WORST

Very bad service and bad communication

Very bad service and bad communication. Have been waiting for more than 2 months to get approval for my heart medication . Even the form that needs to be filled isn't clearly showing what is needed according to the physician.
it takes so long to get a reply on an email ,even phone calls wait time can go up to 30 minutes wait due to staff shortage , I'm surprised to see such a low level of service in Canada !

Greenshield - Frustrating and stressful to deal with

Greenshield is slow, unreliable and inconsistent to pay out. They are difficult to reach to get real answers. GREENSHIELD DEBITED MY BANK ACCOUNT AS A "WITHDRAWL"... !! They went into my account and took money from it, I am waiting for payment on several claims, two being from December 2024. I am rattled.

I am diabetic and was prescribed…

I am diabetic and was prescribed Ozempic. GSC denied me and told that I had to get a drug special authorization form filled out by my doctor and submit. When completed, the process will have taken a month. Diabetic goes without medication due to the fact that the insurer has very poor processes. Terrible to put my health at risk!

Horrible company to use for benefits…

Horrible company to use for benefits packages. Called and messaged to tell them to cancel my benefits since everything they claim to cover is a lie. They claim to cover over 1k per year for chiropractors when in reality it's just a 20 dollar discount if ur lucky enough for them to approve it. A couple months after I told them to cancel my benefits I checked my bank account and realized they were still charging me even tho they should've been canceled. Very dishonest company. Wouldn't recommend to anybody
