Cheap but Nasty Service

They take order for 4 tires. 2 different sizes front and back. Paid as one order. They unilaterally cancelled the back tires and without discussing sent the remaining tires to a fitter. As I wanted the whole 4 done together, I tell them I no longer want them. They say I have to pay for their return. they try to argue they are 2 orders even though I have a single order number for all 4. I had to contact my credit card company to charge back.

As another reviewer has stated, the tyres are cancelled and are then available on their website at at higher price. BEWARE

You ordered two different types of tyres, for that reason it has been separated into two orders.

The two orders come from two different warehouses and you can see that there are two orders because you have two invoices.

Your case is closed and this will be our last response, unless you want to pay for the return costs, in which case we will send you the information to make the return.

I ordered same tyres but different sizes.

I ordered them together as one order and have a single order number for all

However or wherever you supply them from is your concern and nothing to do with me.

You chose unilaterally to cancel one order and send the remainder without consulting myself.

Your position is contra to distance selling regulations in the UK.

If you close this case that is your prerogative but from a legal perspective you are wrong and I will take further steps than have been instructed so far.

You should consider your position carefully and do the right thing, not just legally but also from a customer service perspective

Chatgpt found them cheapest

I looked on competitor websites that I had always used and when I put the tyre brand and type into Chatgpt to find cheaper, it found Grip500 and worked out £50 cheaper.
The delivery was within 2 days and perfect without hassle.
Will be my go to moving forward

Poor stock management (maybe?)

Updated Review.
In the interest of fairness and giving people credit I feel that I must update this after a revelation I had. It occurred to me a few days after I had written this review that I had ordered tyres and not new wheels (it may sound stupid, I know). However, in my mind when I ordered the tyres I thought I was just going to take my wheels off and just add brand spanking new tyres attached to new wheels doh! good job they didn't have stock. However, maybe some clever staff have seen this issue before and they know it's better to cancel the order rather than cause problems for the consumer. anyway, I've adjusted my review to reflect that and I have received my refund.

Poor stock management, and 36 hours later, when expecting a delivery or certainly tracking info, I was notified that those tyres were not in stock. No apology or alternate tyres were offered, just a generic email claiming I would receive a refund. I have to suck up their incompetence and time wasting because they can't do basic stock keeping.

They have a programmed AI to lie and respond to complaints, see below. So I would be extra careful with this firm. They offer no alternative tire, restitution or compensation for the time wasted and delay. They make you wait for a refund. I should not have to absorb their incompetence with my own money.

When asked for evidence of how this will be communciated this was the response.

..."I understand your request for assurance and evidence of action regarding your feedback. While I don't have the capability to directly communicate with our internal teams or provide physical evidence of such communications"...

So the business model here is to take the money irrespective of whether we have stock or not and get the AI to bs on our behalf and make the sucker wait for his money what they gonna do!

Once again I ask people to vote with their wallets on my behalf. My time as anyones, is valuable to me, waiting for tires to be delivered so I can change them was a job I had planned in. A day and a half later, no tires and have order all over again and waiting for my money is disgraceful. If ten people divert their funds to another company they might notice. If you do that please add it in a review.

I also find that programming AI chatbots to lie is problematic.

I ordered tyres in January.

I ordered tyres in January.
Had no contact from the fitters where they were to be delivered.called to have an update and was informed they had no knowledge of tyres .
Concerned I contacted grip 500 and was assured tyres were derived.
After several more emails phone calls .My tyres had gone missing…( I even had an email showing delivery ) .I took it on myself to contact all parties involved.
I’ve personally gone to the fitting company and it seems my tyres are indeed there .However this is where it’s getting more confusing.
My paperwork doesn’t match the paperwork they have .The only thing that matches on my paperwork is the the size of the tyres and the tyre company who sent them .
Nothing else .
I’ve sent an email stating this . My reply has been generic..
I’ve simplified my next email ,and await a reply.
This has been on going since January 2025 .when I order and paid in full for a service I’ve yet to receive.
I’ve also an added concern.If the tyres are sent back to sender .There is nothing stating who the tyres belong to as I understand it .
So I my not even never see a refund.Not that I’m asking for one .All I want are 4 new tyres on my car …
I cannot speak to someone personally.I’m getting desperate for this to be resolved ASAP.

I ordered correctly, they made a mistake

I bought a set of front tyres from the company and got them placed under my car. My new tyres from Grip500 kept leaking air so I had them checked.
It turns out that I had bought the correct size tyres, which I was able to prove via e-mail, however, Grip500 had sent me the incorrect size. I should have checked this when it arrived, but working 2 jobs and having a large family I placed my trust in the company to send the correct item.
When I emailed them, they brushed me off straight away without any apology. To clarify, I never expected them to refund me the tyres as I have been using them but maybe offer me a discount on the next set or at least an apology.
All I got was:
"Dear customer,
We regret to inform you that we cannot process your request.

Best regards,
Kara"

Not professional at all, please check that GRIP500 do their job correctly and sends you what you have ordered. Since they are NOT responsible for mistakes they make! makes sense right?
