If I could could give it 0 stars I would. Please, if you looking to start selling any products online do not waste your time with this company.

I've just submitted my verification documents for the 18th time - these are official nationally recognised documents that are being repeatedly rejected, and I cannot receive assistance because their help team assistant doesn't work nor do they answer any emails. Their help bot says error, and has not worked since I began attempting to use Gumroad 3 months ago. The fact that they expect to take a profit from your sales is beyond ludicrous considering how poor their basic task and document processing is.

The verification process is impossible to complete if you don't live in the US. They will repeatedly request the same documents over and over, failing to verify time and time again. I hope for the sake of mankind that it is a bot that is making an error and not an actual human being that could repeatedly fail to sort an issue out. Their "automatic scanner" for your ID or documents says hold steady, and never takes the photo, and they reject any manual photos taken. They do not accept CIPC company registration documents despite the fact that they are the THE NATIONAL REGISTRATION for the country of South Africa.

BUYERS BEWARE: I purchased a chrome extension for $17 that didn't work. I never received a receipt and the extension didn't work with no contact info for the developer. I contacted support after multiple AI email responses, was forced to open a chargeback. TERRIBLE customer service. I wish I'd checked into this website before purchasing this extension.

I was trying to purchase something on Gumroad for $0, but as I got to the checkout, it said that I have an active chargeback on one of my past Gumroad purchases. However, I wasn't logged in, I didn't give them my card information AND I HAVEN'T USED GUMROAD BEFORE. So, even if I did have an active chargeback, how would they know?

I knew Gumroad 4 years ago, and was with them for almost 2 years but things got worse when they changed a bunch of policies. Gumroad will now lock your account and block your payments without warning, if you need support you will be answered by a Chatbot with the reason "We cannot disclose the exact reasons for your suspension due to the proprietary nature of our risk models and the need to maintain their integrity". And if you have other questions you will be transferred to a "human" for support but it will take a long time. Omg they have a very high platform fee for their users' products but they don't care about their users at all so protect yourself before you get locked

they closed my account without any warning, they stole my money, no refund and they said good luck with another platform, like streets criminals

Really disappointed with the support. It’s been 3 weeks and I still haven’t heard back from them. I needed their response to move forward with something important for my business. This is honestly such a mess.

Absolute idiots! No wonder they have a terrible trust pilot score.

I set up a gumroad account as I wanted to use it as a means for selling digital products that I had created. The day after I set up the profile, I found that the account had been suspended.

I contacted them to ask why and all they said was it was due to non-compliance, specifically a "spammy bio". I explained to them that it was a description of my legitimate digital products, so how can they mark that as spam??.

Absolutely shocking customer service. Luckily I never actually got to the point of uploading my products to sell and it was just a basic profile at this point.

Judging by other reviews I have read on here, many others have had similar experiences of having their account suspended for no good reason.

My advice is to avoid at all costs and use alternative sites if you can. I very much doubt gumroad will be around for too long if they have this attitude towards their customers.

Bought a book about veganism and it's entirely written by chatgpt. How do i know? It consists only of bullet-point lists and it has emojis before every heading. Gumroad won't do anything about it and tells that i should ask for a refund directly from seller. It doesn't even review what their users sell as "ebooks".

Stay away. I signed up to sell digital products. After submitting my digital products and information my products went live. After a week or so, they suspended my account, and I was locked out. No reason and they will not reply to my request to delete my information after contacting support several times. What a scam.

Don't listen to any of the people. Gumroad is amazing! Best Platform for small indie hackers, creators and every alike! The process is soo smooth and the payouts are fast! I see so many 1 star reviews because ppl blame gumroad for acting as the checkout. It's not gumroad's fault!!! Please don't blame gumroad. as a creator I love this platform. I made 200 dollars in 1 month. Highly recommend!

They didn't provide contact back service, they wasted my money , they linked with remottr.com which is totally scam they post outdated jobs which are 1 week ago and more than 200 people applied, so gum road is having their payments and they didn't cash back.

This company is a complete scam. I ordered a shirt over two months ago and never received anything. I contested it on my credit card and Gumroad wrote me that them taking my money was fine since they did e-mail me a receipt for the purchase of the item that was never delivered or even sent.

This is the worst online purchasing experience I have ever had. I paid for my purchase, post payment I was given the option to send the book to kindle - this didn't work. I set up an account and to date have still not recieved any email with my 2FA information or even an electronic acknowledgement of the purchase. I was charged twice. I then had a nightmare experience with AI that was clearly just sending me a series of automated emails with no action or investigation occuring behind it. I did eventually (3 days later) get an email from a real person who sent links where I was able to download a pdf file of the book ($17), there were extremely helpful, but no amount of nice person will make up for the shambles of software they use. If you are an author and want to sell your book, do not use this site. I will never purchase from here again.

The setup, protection, customer support, and putting your products in Gumroad is great. 5 star.
But the fees are incredibly high, I sold an ebook for £2.50, and £1.13 (with add ons) were taken off my amount I would earn, leaving me with £1.48. I find this shocking as I put hard work into it. The payouts are dodgy too, as I had a sale put into my bank account on July 16th, and the other 5 sales are waiting since July 5th. I didn’t have $10 in my account balance (gumroad) for the first week, which I understand why I didn’t get my money as I was just learning how to use Gumroad then, but I reached well over $10 for the second week and they didn’t transfer my money into my bank on the next Friday (payout day - 18th July).
It is Saturday, 19th July today, and I have to wait until the 25th July to get my money. If you don’t want a hassle and want to have your money transferred on the set date when you have your requirements set, don’t go for Gumroad.
But other than the fees, and waiting time, it’s great.
That’s why I gave it 3 stars.

Please read the negative reviews and don’t use this company. I ordered a product and the seller never provided it to me. I’ve emailed Gumroad and they don’t even respond. This platform is a complete scam and I have no idea why they haven’t been sued yet.

I spent over 7 hours trying to publish a simple digital product on Gumroad using an iPad. The user interface constantly looped me back to “Welcome Aboard” screens with no way to access my product dashboard, even after uploading files and confirming my email. I tried two different email accounts and reset my password multiple times — nothing worked.

I contacted support but never received a reply. For a platform that’s supposed to support creators, this was incredibly frustrating and completely unprofessional. I finally gave up and moved to another platform, where I had my product live and selling within the hour.

Gumroad might work fine for some users, but if you’re on mobile, or need even minimal support, look elsewhere.

Gumroad has postponed my payouts three times now for no reason. I’ve sent them countless messages and they just keep ignoring me. I’m not gonna let this slide. Honestly, if you’re thinking of using their platform, stay away. Avoid them like the plague.

Fraudulent dealings!!!
I have a product listed for £200. A customer purchased it for £240. I received £170.
I was not told how much the customer paid, we just so happened to discuss it.
So, even when they do tell you of fees, they are not telling you 50% of the fees they are taking.
My invoice says he customer paid £200, and the fees were £30.

30% fees taken!

Bait and switch operation with glitchy technology.

They invite creators to join their site - even adult content creators are invited. Then, after you've made a few sales, they abruptly ban you from their platform.

Customers frequently have trouble making purchases from their site. It's all a trainwreck, really. Thank goodness there are better platforms out there for selling content.
