Wow.. that was horrible

don't believe anything they say ... schedule appointment at 1 on Friday turned to 1 Thursday then 11am... I bent over backwards to accommodate all the changes..then the whimpy grown man is fused to follow any instructions as how to park in my tricky yard... couldn't handle furniture with 2 of them banged into walls...then just got in there truck and left.... goodwill or yoke fellow is a much better option to help others it's supposed to be all about helping others...this was a nitemare .

I was all set to donate furniture to my local habitat for humanity place, I had emailed the director in Philadelphia and sent her pix of the furniture. She emailed and called me and said H4H would definitely take my furniture.

Movers came out and refused the furniture donations claiming it was "damaged" when it is not it is just furniture from the 1950s and early 1960s and in excellent condition without damage. Habitat for humanity and the re store are a scam. Avoid, it is a total waste of time.

Habitat truck showed up to pick up 4…

Habitat truck showed up to pick up 4 TOTALLY fictional reclining chairs.
Their only defect was the fake leather started peeling after only two years.
Wife bought expensive covers but I didn't like the covers.
Here's the point. Truck shows up and two guys say that the chairs are not perfect and they would have a hard time SELLING THEM!!!
Are you kidding me?
These chairs are like new with perfect coil spring seating a totally smoothe reclining mechanisms.
WHAT HAPPENED TO HELPING PEOPLE OUT IN NEED?!!
THIS SCAM OUTFIT IS IN SEBRING FL.
Same as giving clothes to dumpsters my wife thinks poor people get her nearly new clothes.
HABITAT FOR HUMANITY needs a new name. HABITAT FOR PROFIT

I donated a substantial gift in honor of my grandmother to never receive my paper for taxes. I will never donate to them again. They never sent anything to say thank you or anything. Way to go Philabundence for your letter and appreciation.

Restore on Bermondsey Drive in Toronto…

Restore on Bermondsey Drive in Toronto is full of people who are being paid but pretty much do nothing. The store is full of mostly garbage, but they don't take good donations of perfect hardwood furniture. Regarding their so-called pickup sevice: I have had many experiences where there was either tons of great furniture to pick up or just a few pieces and they never do it and they never give you a reason why. I suspect that those trucks and teams are being used for some other purpose. There is something really, really, really wrong here and has been wrong for years. This organization is not what it purports to be. I will be giving my beautiful, valuable, useful furniture to Salvation Army and Value Village who do a brisk business and sell tons of good stuff for low prices.

They charge more than Home Depot or Lowe’s in some cases. Many of their items are way over priced. They get things for free and they rip you off with pricing. You may find a value here and there occasionally but the majority of the time it’s not worth it.

We had the great privilege of meeting Raymond, with habitat in Cottonwood, Arizona. Raymond has gone over and above to help make my father‘s home safer and easier for him to get around. He was kind, helpful and respectful. He has Followed through with everything he said he would help with.

I applied for a no interest loan

I applied for a no interest loan for very bad entry doors and a couple other small things. Two people came to my home and the man was a little rude. On top of it, he was talking about all of these accessible expensive products. He even mentioned a ramp (I'm not in a wheelchair yet because of my MS and hopefully won't need one in the future). I emailed the person in charge and told her of my experience and asked her if they get donations by selling this stuff. I'm on disability and can't afford to get new doors, but I told her to remove my application since I don't deal with disrespectful people no matter how poor I am.

DONT GET A HOME THROUGH THEM

I have a home through Habitat for Humanity. DO NOT PURCHASE A HOME FROM THEM IN COEUR D'ALENE, IDAHO!!!! The director will switch the narrative to what suits him for that day. He will not care about your kids and if they get hit by a car or if your house is destroyed within a year of moving in. This is not a community like they say.

Greed for Humanity

I thought this company cared to provide for less fortunate people. I was wrong. They are only looking for cash donations or brand new merchandise. We have a world of homeless people sleeping on the streets and they refused a "like new" mattress because it had slat marks on the bottom. They said they couldn't sell it. Really?? Very sad. I will never make another donation to this organization.

I was told H4H helps Veterans

I was told H4H helps Veterans. I had someone mess up my gravel driveway so I contacted H4H for help. They did a VERY bad job and when I called to let them know, the Director never returned my calls. Tried to upload pics of my driveway now but this site did not allow me.

This organization greatly helped my…mom & restored my faith in humanity

This organization greatly helped my mother who's older, with depression, on oxygen, bad joints and being abused, major unthinkable tragedys. They repaired her home falling apart. This organization did more then repair the home, they restored my faith in humanity. The repairs saved her home. That was the greatest birthday gift shes ever had (it was her birthday). This was in 2020.

Bad experience

I has donated 1000s of dollars worth of products to the Restore. I spent 3 hrs going through old socket that have been setting with taped tags over the sockets. Some very small sockets were being listed for $2 to $3 for 1 socket. I went to the check out stand. They wanted to charge me over $40 for the socket and a few small wrenches. That would have been over double the price of new sockets. I will never go in there door or donate to them again. I am also sending this to FACEBOOK.

Do these employees hate their jobs?

I agree with the many other reviewers -- very rude employees. I will never go back to give a donation to a Habitat for Humanity Store. It is just another business with angry employees, but this one is fueled by our donations.

These guys need to get their act together.

These guys need to get their act together regarding donated furniture. There has to be a better way than an on-the-spot decision to not take it. There is no consideration given to the donor's time and effort to prepare and place these items for pick up, or the opportunity cost of not selling or donating elsewhere in the meantime.

I recommend the following strategy: If you are planning to donate furniture to them, go ahead and schedule a pickup, but do not count on it being taken when they arrive. In the meantime try to sell it on craigslist for even a pittance. If they are going to make me play dice with whether or not the furniture is going to get picked up, I'm going to make them play dice with whether or not it will be there.

Provide more information to donors.

I am shocked to learn that a donation cannot be accepted because furniture was "Around" a pet.

The process and waiting times are by far ridiculous (1 month) and after all this time, a person just told me that they cannot accept the items because they were around a pet.

I personally think that you should state that the donations should be for BRAND NEW items that have not been exposed to absolutely any allergens and see how many items you get.

This orgainzation is not a Charity!

Horrible experience I had nice pieces…

Horrible experience I had nice pieces of furniture to donate so I called and someone asked for photos I sent photos. The person said yes we will take it off. Please go online and schedule a pick up. So that was not an easy process. I did schedule a pick up and then the day before today as they were supposed to pick up tomorrow. They emailed me and said they couldn't take two out of the three items. Last minute. I have everything in the garage. In the way of other projects I need to do. I am not happy. I told them as much I told him to never mind. I'll donate all items elsewhere. No need to come out for just one thing. Boo.
