Used Hackworthy & Sons Ltd for a move in Dec 2021. Competitive quote and vey professional. Would highly recommend!

Without doubt the WORST removal firm we've ever used. We selected Hackworthy & Sons because they appeared to offer everything we needed; local to Plymouth, long established, reasonably priced, available on our moving dates and could store our furniture for a short period of approximately 3 weeks. Our perfect furniture was removed from our home in June but when it was delivered to our new house a few weeks later we were horrified. Two very expensive wood cabinets were badly scratched and gouged, another cabinet had clearly been pushed or dragged along a rough surface because the bottom of it was split and a Vi-Spring divan base which we had protectively double wrapped had the wrapping split and was covered in a green mildew stain. Wrapping on an armchair also showed evidence of the chair being pushed or dragged rather than lifted and placed down.

An insurance claim for the damage they did (settled by Hackworth's insurers, not ours) was only recently settled, which is why we did not review them earlier. Suffice to say that Hackworthy's rank incompetence caused us great distress and them thousands of pounds in an insurance payout. Avoid like the plague.

Thank you for fitting in my move at short notice. The members of staff that I spoke to on the phone were very helpful and answered all my questions. The crew that arrived were brilliant. They were all very different characters (!), but worked well as a team.

We found the three men doing our move very friendly and efficient. They worked hard and respected our house and belongings. We would certainly recommend them and thank them for their efforts. The follow up service of removing the used boxes is also very helpful.

We received excellent service from Hackworthy, and the two engineers were extremely helpful and efficient - thank you!

So glad that I decided to use Hackworthy and Sons for my recent house move. Great communication from day one with all the staff I spoke to, and emailed in the office. Quote was then emailed over to me to confirm I was happy and then payment was made. All very straight forward. On the day of the move the two young men, Corey and Steve were just fantastic and a credit to this business. Nothing was to much trouble. Everything was moved with great care and not a single item was damaged. If I ever have to move again I will use this company again. a huge thank you to everyone involved in my move.

The team were fabulous on a difficult and stressful day. We were still packing and dismantling stuff when they arrived plus our completion was late as were the keys and we got nothing but positivity and a jolly attitude. They worked unbelievably hard and we couldn’t recommend them more!

Hackworth's were relaible, professional and pleasant. We could not have asked for better service. Though right at the end, the men ran out of steam and left stuff on the ground floor which clearly was signed to go to the top floor. But given what they had previously carried, who can blame them! Would thoroughly recommend the company, for price and efficiency.
