Shocking

Shocking. Purchased white bmw 1 series 118d sport just a few days before Christmas, was really excited and was told it would be fully cleaned and have new tyres and brakes fitted as per mot work. Car delivered to my home address in the dark so couldn’t check over until next day. Upon looking at car in daylight it was to say the least disgusting! Filthy and stained inside along with auction markings still on the windscreen and the auction tags for money for your motors still on the keys ! Handbrake didn’t work at all and although new parts had been fitted according to them it wasn’t done correctly. Front tyres work out, no jack or inflation kit and exhaust fumes coming into car. And after many attempts of calling, messaging and emails I’m just being ignored! Still have all the photos and copies of messages and emails if anyone would like to get in touch????????

My Qashqai Sale Went Very Smoothly

Had my Qashqai up for sale for a couple of weeks with no end of time wasters. One call from Richard, and the deal was sorted in minutes. The collection was incredibly smooth and efficient. I would have no hesitation in recommending Happier Cars.

Don’t even think about it!

I cannot describe the rudeness and lack of professionalism at this garage! The sold me a faulty car, they’ve lied about the mileage and on further checks by a local garage, it came up on the tester that the main odometer has been tampered with. When I told them, they’ve said that the garage where I took the car they don’t know what they are doing (these guys are making rally cars for the local team). Apart from this, the car was delivered with a pre-delivery inspection sheet which stated that the car is in perfect condition and obviously it wasn’t (this will be another review for that garage that made the inspection). They refused to give me indications towards their dealership as I was in an Uber in the middle of a field going to pick up my car, which they said it wasn’t there so it is no point for me to come to the dealership. Very unprofessional, in my personal opinion, a bunch of scammers who take advantage of people’s lack of knowledge! I am still struggling to get my deposit back even though I took the car back a week ago! We’ll see what the future holds! To sum it up, if you’re thinking of buying a car from this dealership, DON’T! You’ll regret every nut and bolt of that car!

AWFUL after sales service

I purchased an Audi q3 at the end of December, couldn’t fault the company at the time of the sale, they were not pushy and seemed like nice sales guys. Walked away happy with the car.

6 weeks later the prop shaft blew up on the car, I contacted the warranty company that Happier Cars provided the warranty with, they explained I needed to find a repair garage and get a diagnosis before taking it further.

The mechanic did a full investigation which found that the gearbox had clearly been rebuilt and whoever did this didn’t secure the prop shaft properly when putting it back together.

Happier Cars provided an MOT when I purchased the car, it noted a couple of advisories, which could be seen clearly on the outside of the tyres etc. Under MOT checks the testing station must check that all bolts for the prop shaft are secure, this is an automatic fail if they are not secure. Given I had done very little mileage in the 6 weeks of owning the car it is clear that the prop shaft was not correctly secured at the time of the MOT. When I questioned Happier Cars they told me they didn’t have any record of having had an MOT carried out on the car. Yet the MOT testing station noted on the certificate was a couple of miles down the road from their address and was different to the previous testing station used in London by the previous owner of the vehicle. I therefore question whether an MOT was done at all?

The warranty company sent out an independent inspector who confirmed what was diagnosed by the garage, however they then advised that they may not pay out for the full repair due to the circumstances. It was then suggested that the car should be returned to Happier cars for a repair, as under the consumer act if something goes wrong within 6 months the dealer has to offer a repair.

The car went back to Happier Cars, who I provided a copy of my invoice for the initial diagnostics too as this was to be included within the warranty claim. They have confirmed that in the end the warranty company did pay out part of the claim back to Happier Cars.

I’ve now had the car back for a month, and I still have no copy of the documents relating to the repair of the car, which they had told me in a previous email would act as the parts warranty for the new parts supplied.
I also haven’t been reimbursed for invoice I had to pay for initial diagnostics.

Given under the consumer act the dealer has to pay for the repair and that the invoice is only for £108 I really don’t understand why happier cars are now refusing to refund me this amount! Surely you’d think a company who prides themselves on service on their website would pay this back to a customer?

I was without a car for 7 weeks, which was extremely stressful when trying to get to work and a toddler to nursery living in a rural town. Ever since I encountered the problem with the car the tone of their emails changed completely and they have been point blank rude.

Having looked at other reviews it seems everyone agrees about their sales service, but if you encounter a problem afterwards the company do not handle them well. I can also imagine that they will respond to this saying that they have a different version of events but I’ve got the full chain of communication in an email.

Purchased a Ford Ranger

Purchased a Ford Ranger. Took it into Ford for a health check the following week and fortunately it's still in warranty as the bill would be almost £2000. Although a new modem is on order as there was broken bottles of beer under the back seat that had leaked into the electrics. They even replied to us telling us to enjoy the beer.
Paintwork had been touched up with a pen so on first wash it all came away. Obviously this wasn't noticed on the first walk round. I contsvted them immediately took them 4 weeks to reply them claimed I'd had the car 2 months, when infact ive bot owned it thst long. I Took the car in for a quote on paint work repair and they have pointed out accident damage too that has been covered over by a cowboy. Now 7 weeks later we are requiring a new battery. Not the best when spending £32000 on a used car.
Happier cars will no longer reply to emails or answer calls regarding any of this. But are quick to respond to negative reviews. Once you leave their field they have zero cares but hound you to leave a positive review before you have time to realise what a nail they have sold to you. No such thing as aftercare sales here.
Please be weary of this company, read other reviews first as what you see is not what you get.

Good first impressions of garage in…

Good first impressions of garage in fantastic surroundings. Minor details on car resolved before collection. Soon after purchase a major concern was raised with Happier Cars due to missing catalytic converters (car was modified- unknown to me). Happier Cars promised they would fix, promised they had ordered the cats and after 5 months of not being able to use the car I was finally offered a refund for the car as Happier Cars didn't want to pay for repairs. Happier Cars never had any intention of fixing the car and were not willing to discuss a compromise. Autotrader reply from garage is incorrect- I wanted the car fixed and the fact the car was £5000 less already doesn’t mean it’s ok to sell an illegal car. Buyer Beware.
