Avoid this company at all costs, they are rip off merchants, charge literally 100's pounds for very little. Used this company for my son's adhd assessment, this was £1000. Fair enough. They then do... See more

Acute withdrawal from medication due to this companies negligent admin team.

Do not go near this company!
I received my initial assessment from a great Psychiatrist (it appears he is now no longer with this company, however).
The admin team, however, are DEFUNCT. They will not answer emails, if you phone they tell you they will get back to you but they never do. All I want is my 12 month appointment with a psychiatrist as part of my ongoing shared care treatment plan - can I get one? No. I am now facing an abrupt prolonged withdrawal from my medication and back to square one with seeking an assessment and titration elsewhere. This company gives not one iota of care for their mental health clients because the admin team they employ is worse than useless. STAY AWAY!!!

Worst clinic.

Annabelle at admin is awesome and is the only reason I tried to resolve my issues with Harley but If possible I’d leave no stars for Harley!
Dr shapira vaped through my follow up appointment and shouted aggressively at me when I asked to send my prescription to a local much cheaper clinic, my prescription wasn’t sent out twice and only available through their recommended clinic at a much higher price. Management wouldn’t take my calls nor emails issue occurred in February only heard from them twice in 5 months after constant emails and calls trying to follow up. I’ve had to leave and go somewhere else, you get messed about too much expect when it comes to payment then they prioritise that! Dr olga was excellent too!

I have had multiple issues

I attended an appointment this evening booked with Dr Ramesh Shankar at 7:00 and overall I am very upset with how it was dealt with.

My appointment was regarding my recent diagnosis of ADHD and was advised with medication of Elvanse 20mg the meeting was a review on the medication. The Dr was 5 minutes late to which I followed the instructions on the email and called the clinic. As you can imagine someone with ADHD is very impatient hence the reason I’m going to through the process. I know this sometimes can’t be controlled however the Dr not apologies and just carried on as normal. I was on the call for approximately 8-10 minutes. Where the doctors had not checked my records before hand and asked questions like what medication are you on? What milligram? Which is very concerning and worrying.

He then went on to ask what my blood pressure was and my side effects were. This was all send prior to the appointment and was not checked.

I send in my care shared plan with the intentions of when my medication had been sorted that it would be ready to go to the doctors and not had a confirmation that is been confirmed and ready despite asking multiple times for an update on this.

During the first issue I had to attend my doctors to prescribe my medication due to the phone lines being turn off for a week. Which I now know was because of the new articles regarding misdiagnosis. When I spoke to holly she could not answer to why the phone lines were off and had she had informed me the reports on the company I would have never carried on with treatment.

Since then I have changed doctor who noticed my blood pressure was high and to come off the tablets and monitor the blood pressure my blood pressure dropped while not on the tablets and I was emailed and asked if I would like to increase the dose of medication. Which doesn’t make sense this showed my blood pressure was only increasing due to the medication so taking a higher dose would increase it even more. I am paying for a doctor to give me her advice not to be asked my option I am not medically trained and noticed this.

During this time not on medication for the first 3 days I felt like i had no energy and had Diarrhea leading to me taking time off work again which I called and was advised that they are not sure if it was side effects or not and my doctor is on annul leave so cannot speak to them. Leading me to go my doctors and was advised that it was a withdrawal from not taking them and I should have been made aware. This was never advised me to and i could have been prepared for this if warned. Another failure.

Tuesday the 11th I got an email to suggest I have an appointment with my doctor to discuss the medication further however on my last appointment with the Dr she advised me that if the blood pressure isn’t right she would recommend two other medications to try and put me on those. I am not prepared to pay for another appointment.

I have had to take a total of 10 days off work. Due to stress and illness (withdrawals) and my mental health has been effected to a point I feel that I can no longer cope hence the reason my mum has been trying to contact you selfs (with no luck).

I have sent in 3 formal complaints which have not been dealt with and since march have called 88 times and sent a total of 24 begging for help.

I have sent in a written request and chased to getting a copy of trasnscrisps which was originally requested on the 22/05/2023 and they have still not been sent.

The customer services team don't no the complaints prodecuer and to give to give their names..

I am now at a point where I have stopped being a patient and need a refund to go elsewhere to get the help I need. Which Holly the supervisor agreed on the 15/07/2023 but now has not followed through with.

I have called three times today where I have been told that it is with the correct team and we cannot give you an update and now will not answer my calls.

Thorough, professional, and scientifically rigorous treatment

I had assessments for both Autism and ADHD with Dr. Antonesei and Dr. Maritan.

I'm a middle aged man whose parents are both dead, which has presented an issue when seeking a diagnosis before, and I have a number of friends my age who were told by other assessing professionals that their assessments were moot on that fact alone.

This was never an issue with Dr. Antonesei and Dr. Maritan. We filled in a thorough battery of tests (the ones used worldwide in the assessment of neurodiversity) and in my first appointment with Dr. Antonesei, she ruled out as many things as she ruled in.

They compensated for the subjectivity of my experiences by asking a variety of screening questions, pressing me for specific examples, and taking a thorough family history.

At no point did I have to use the various tests that are designed for infants (picture books, coloured blocks, toy cars) and instead they used questions and methods that are the accepted standard for adult diagnosis.

The conversation regarding whether I wanted medication for ADHD was exploratory and sensitive to my medical issues (I have high blood pressure and a family history of heart problems), and they discussed what options and help I could seek outside of Harley Psychiatrists more than they discussed what I could purchase from their company. I have not currently opted to use stimulant medication, and there has been no time when I've felt pushed to do so.

I should also say that the Admin infrastructure and teams from Harley Psychiatrists are also professionals and very efficient. I always had what I needed, and they were as supportive as I could have hoped for in helping me to get quite a large battery of tests (including things like Blood Pressure, which I had to access through my GP) coordinated in time for my appointment.

Dr. Antonesei was compassionate but clear with me, being honest about whether my answers indicated ADHD, Autism, or just personality and circumstance.

All in all, I had exactly the experience that I would have hoped to have had from two senior clinical psychologists.

My experience with Harley Psychiatrists…

My experience with Harley Psychiatrists is absolutely wonderful. They got professional doctors that will give you the right support for you either Therapy or Medication. A friend recommended to see them in 2021 and now I’m still with them in 2023. Due to Covid all appointments is done over Skype. For me it’s good thing as I don’t have to plan journeys every time. Would I recommend to anyone who is struggling like me with ADHD or Other Mental Health related to see Harley Psychiatrists? Yes.
If you are reading this I wish you the best.

Thank you for changing my life

When my mum stated that she would provide the money for me to go private it was a Friday. She was sick of seeing me the way I was, pale-faced running to the bathroom to be sick after shopping or just sleeping in my bed constantly.

I came home and called a Glasgow company with a good reputation but they couldn't see me until Aug which was around a month away. I didn't get the feeling that I needed from the lady that answered the call.

I felt I needed someone who was a bit of an expert, empathetic, and friendly and made me feel this was the absolute right road I should travel.

Well as I spoke with the lady on the telephone who answered my call that's exactly what I got. She was wonderful and put me at ease and filled my head full of knowledge and stories of success. (Wish I could remember her name, but hey that will be my condition)

Late Friday afternoon we had all the forms filled in, returned and appointment booked.

The appointment was booked for the following Wednesday, this is where I met the most wonderful Psychologist that seemed to understand me straight away. She was full of empathy and understanding. Within a short time, she could advise what the symptoms were I have been experiencing my whole life.

2 weeks later my appointment with the psychiatrist arrived, again very friendly and seems very understanding. He advised yes I have ADHD and that I get the wonderful opportunity to change my life with medication.

Within a 3 week period I have been diagnosed with a disability I have been living with for 52 years. The fact you offer this service via zoom and such affordable prices you will change my life and I'm sure many others.

Thank you!

Great until you have a problem....

The company are fantastic until you have a problem and then they may as well be on the moon. No one will calm you back, the front line team will stone wall yiu and you will get NOWHERE. Believe me when I say I have called and emailed several times a week for months now with NO ONE helping me in the slightest. It's absolutely appalling. I ignored these reviews and wished I hadn't.

Adult autism assessment

I had an adult autism assessment with Dr Elena Maritan.

She was very friendly and explained how the assessment would work.

The assessment was thorough and lasted for about and hour and a half. At the end of the assessment she confirmed that I am autistic and discussed recommendations for me and my life.

I am 27 and feel hugely validated and like I know who I am now. It is never too late to seek a diagnosis!
