Brought a hayter 56 from goodrowes Chichester, they said it was a good machine for commercial use so we spent £1,600:00 and gave it a try
Very quickly saw that it blocked the chute and also the bars between the roller and had to keep stopping to unblock it
Not good for a supposed commercial machine
The handlebars bent and broke and had to be welded but didn’t work because it’s so thin that there is nothing to weld to
It’s ok for short grass when it’s dry only , then will do a reasonable job,
As a commercial user I wasted my money as it’s not up to the job

Having purchased an electric Hayter Osprey 46 in March 2022 sadly some 2 years 2 months later it no longer works unless I spend c£400 on it with bearings having gone, self propeller not working and debris evidently stopping it working. This despite washing it after every use I am told it hasn’t been looked after properly as it needed to have a 12 monthly service despite there being no engine. My mistake and Hayter have not been empathetic or tried to do anything other than tell me I should follow their guidelines. Fair enough in some ways but when electric cars don’t need annual servicing any more strange that’s not the case with Hayter. Lessons learned and be warned…..
Update:
Following a request to email ‘Toro’ to look into the issue again. I have now been told just using the hose system “will not clear all the internally collected dust & debris” - not sure why I was asked to contact them again as this hasn’t added any value albeit now also learnt the hose mechanism doesn’t do too much then.

I bought a hayter 41 in September 2023. It leaked oil thru the air intake and saturated the paper filter. Oil dripped from the air intake on to the mower causing and the onto the grass. It went back for repair 4 times, each time taking several weeks. After threatening legal action I got a new mower. Guess what. It also leaked oil, also it surged (hunting) very badly. No recourse to the warranty as was 2-3 weeks out of the warranty. Now back to another mower shop. Waiting for a replacement carburettor part. £900 for a piece of rubbish.

I PURCHASED A HAYTER HARRIER 41 LAWN MOWER FOR £999 BACK IN JULY 2024. WITHIN A FEW WEEKS I STARTED TO NOTICE A PATCH OF FUEL OR OIL ON MY LAWN WHERE THE LAWNMOWER HAD STOOD FOR A FEW MOMENTS WHILST I CLEANED IT AFTER MOWING THE LAWN. NOW THE OIL , IT TURNS OUT TO BE ENGINE OIL, IS POURING OUT OF THE AIR FILTER. SINCE JULY I HAVE BEEN ON TWO HOLIDAYS AND SO ONLY USED THE MOWER HALF A DOZEN TIMES FROM NEW. A NEW MOWER SHOULD NOT BE DOING THIS. I HAD HEARD THAT THE HAYTER IS THE ROLLS ROYCE OF LAWN MOWERS BUT MY EXPERIENCE IS VERY MUCH CITROEN 2CV.

I have used a Hayter mower for 14 years without any problems! Based on that I purchased a larger replacement model. The new one is very good except for two faults: The grass collector bag is really difficult to put back due to a non ergonomic handle! The Hayter letters on the front of the deck deeply slashed two of my fingers when cleaning the machine! I have removed those dangerous sharp edged letters! The machine is easy to use and leaves immaculate striped lawns!

Haymow (Harrier 48 ES) replaced Moweena, who was a Suffolk Punch 14 from 1996. Haymow is easier to start, has a larger grass box, cuts the lawn faster, and makes a far more pleasant sound as he does so. We love Haymow.

The product is fantastic.
The customer service was horrendous.
Firstly they couldn’t decide which day they were going to deliver, so the information I was given was delivery for Tuesday or Wednesday. Not very helpful. When I rang customer services on Wednesday they told me the lawn mower would be delivered before 6pm. No one turned up.
In fact the delivery driver did come to my street but couldn’t find my house and worse still did not have my contact phone number. He returned to the depot. I eventually received the product on Thursday.
I was never kept up to date with the delivery. You couldn’t care less.

brought 2 number spent over £2300.00 1 for myself and 1 for my father in law, both with faults both the same faults with the battery connections not starting, i have contacted Hayter as it was the time of covid and registered my issues and just got stupid emails and no response, i have today emailed again as i want my money back or both exchange, i will be starting legal action next week in the small claims court, emailed 7 days ago and then just ignored me again
