Delivery was hours late which meant the builders had gone home by the time it arrived and this has pushed back the end date of the work into another week. However the reason for 2 stars is because the driver was rude. I walked under the jack on the side of the lorry and he proceeded to confront me rudely about it in front of my family. When I tried to defuse the situation with a smile on my face whilst confused over his lack of manners, instead of explaining calmy he followed up with "go on then make an excuse".

First of all, what sort of initial interaction and response is that to a paying customer. Next, he thought it would be appropriate to question me over responsibilities, as if I'm not an adult, but blatantly out of concern of a lawsuit rather than anyones safety as this was mentioned. Well if the driver is so concerned about the jack falling on someone in case he gets sued, I'd get that lorry off the road as its not safe for the job right? Or is a huge industrial jack designed to hold things up? I would ask why there were zero signs or warnings propped up on the street then? Not just for me but for other members of the public as well. Seriously, no signs at all. If responsibility is a concern then its very lacking. The only interaction I had with this driver was confrontational and we've had no prior involvement with the company until this moment, so that extends to the company.

You want to talk about responsibilities well don't forget that this is the only representation of the business that we have seen so take responsibility over being more respectful in future. An explanation and a calm approach will take you a lot further than instantly being rude to people you've never met. Awful. I'm sure this company is amazing going by the other reviews, so for the driver who delivered to my house, please remember you represent the company you work for and I guarantee if some higher-ups were on the job with you, you wouldn't have spoken to me like that at all. You've made your company image look worse than it needs to. Zero recommendations here I'm afraid.

Efficient quick delivery - excellent customer service and good quality products

Great family business and 5* service from start to finish. These guys know their products and were extremely knowledgeable in helping me choose my paving . Plenty of choice and a good price. Delivery was excellent ensuring my builder was not kept waiting, driver friendly and helpful and good at his job. Would 100% recommend .

We have used H&B on many occasions they are always really helpful and knowledgeable. Delivery service is always well organised. Would highly recommend to anyone weather public or trade.

Put an order in for some 25kg bags online to be delivered. Delivery is 3-5 days and by day 3 had no update as to wether it had been despatched, so I thought I would give them a ring to make sure everything was ok with the order. Some gentleman answered the phone told him my query and said he will ring me back later that day. No phone call back so day 4 I ring them back to which a lovely lady called Claire answered and said she will look into what’s going on and will ring me back. Within 5 minutes she rang me, the delivery hadn’t been despatched yet so which I said I will just come and collect it myself to which she replied that’s great, we will refund you the delivery charge (thanks Claire). Later that day I turned up to collect them which I encountered a very rude manager who made me wait at the counter for a very long time while he was doing other things. Once I finally get served I ask this manager about the refund which he replies but in our terms it says delivery within 5 days. I said that’s fine can you guarantee me I will have my delivery by the next working day which he replies he will even make the delivery himself. After him finally realising this wasn’t realistic he finally agreed to the refund that Claire had already said to me about. I will wait and see if I do get this refund due to his poor attitude but we will see. Unfortunately will not recommend this company due to how I was spoken to by one of the managers.

Brilliant customer service both in person and on the phone. Delivered exactly when requested. Would highly recommend.
