This program is very flexible, with a website that was easy to navigate and coaches that were very helpful. I highly recommend Robin Crims as a coach, she always answered my questions and made sure that I understood concepts. I appreciated the layout of the course topics, starting with basic principles and finishing with studying surgeries in detail. All the links and videos were very helpful. Obviously with an online course comes a lack of hands on practice, but my only problem with this course was how the skills validation part of each unit was graded by AI. I felt like there were times where I didn't pass on the first try, got a new prompt, answered in the same way and ended up passing. This program definitely does well of covering a lot of material within a 14 week time span.

It was easy to enroll and at a price that beats the other schools

no placement, i am not getting any help from anyone. their team is not experts, only coaches know things but what they share is different from the team

I am extremely disappointed with my experience in the Surgical Technician program at Health Tech Academy. While tuition was collected promptly, clinical placement support — which is required to complete the program — has been unclear, delayed, and difficult to obtain.

Multiple attempts to receive concrete information about clinical rotations resulted in vague responses and no clear timeline. Without clinical hours, students cannot graduate or become eligible for certification, making this a critical part of the program.

Prospective students should carefully research and get written confirmation about clinical placement assistance before enrolling.

So I finished my surgical tech program in July 2025 and still struggling on my own to find a clinical hours so I can get certified there isn’t any kind of support from the school and no contact it doesn’t matter how hard you try to communicate with the career services they will not respond
Over all a waste of my time and money and all the effort

I have always been interested in the medical field I just didn't know what occupation thanks to Health Tech Academy I think I narrowed it down to Surgical Technologist

I started my surgical technology program in May 2025 and finished the courses in Nov 2025. I have been having a hard time trying to get placed for clinicals. All they do is give you a list of hospitals to call yourself to find clinicals with no help. I keep emailing Nayab Tabasum with no help. I’m to the point of doing a class action suit on them.

Who all is willing to go with me to start a class action suit against health tech academy

I'm just starting the course work for the program I am involved in, but I've received nothing but assistance and support from the individuals I have so far encountered. I am excited and looking forward to growth and personal gain through my online course.

My experience has been wonderful. Everyone has been very helpful and the materials have been very informative.

I want to give 0rating. My daughter got no help after payment and there have no real affiliations. Most of them struggle to speak in English and highly unprofessional. She is not getting any support for her placement and we ask for a refund, they keep saying that we are not eligible but they promised the placement. They lie when they give admission about all their commitment. GO FIND A BETTER SCHOOLL!!

I signed up for the Surg Tech program in Nov 2024. Prior to enrolling, I specifically asked if I needed to have experience in the operating room and they said "no". I, also, inquired about externships. The idiot that signed me up stated that they have a relationship with this particular hospital in my area. Later on down the line, I found out that he lied to me. They have zero relationships with hospitals in my very large metro area..NONE. I discovered an extern position available in my area on my own, so I applied. This hospital clearly stated that in order to assist in surgical procedures in this area, you have to be certified/licensed in order to even step foot in the hospital due to the liability. In order to become fully licensed/certified, you have to complete the 125-hour externship. How the heck can anyone complete the externship without being able to enter the room to assist in procedures?? This school fails to tell you A LOT of pertinent information in regards to the externship and so on. Also, they will tell you that they will find your externship in the beginning; however, they will say the opposite later on. They want YOU to do ALL of the leg work. I would advise anyone with ZERO operating room experience to stay FAR away from Health Tech Academy because in order to become certified you MUST have 125 surgical procedures under your belt. I wasted $1750 on this useless program. I feel like I was SCAMMED.

It was very easy to apply and receive a loan through one of the companies affiliated with HTA. The staff is responsive and the dashboard layout is also appealing and easy to navigate.

If I could give them 0stars I would they are a fraudulent company. I waisted my time and they will answer the phone until you are enrolled then boom it takes months to get in touch with them ! When I finally got back in contact with them I had completed my course then when it was time for my certification test they wanted me to pay after I was told that my student loan was to cover that. Also it was so long after I completed my course I asked to take a practice exam and that was it I never heard anything else from them !!!! RUN don't waste your time or your money with this company !!! I’m currently in the process of suing them!!!!! ( That is how bad it is !!!)

I decided to go with HTA due to the time to complete the program as well as the price. You do not incur in debt or need student loans.

I liked the self paced aspect of the course. It would benefit from having more videos on the education provided. The nurse who spoke at the beginning of each session was helpful in underlining the points in each section but having more videos within the sections about detailed information would be more helpful. I found it difficult to only have slides that I read on VERY basic information on each topic. I found myself referring to the book and basically self teaching. Luckily with the previous healthcare knowledge I have I still think I got enough from the course to succeed in the specialty.

For all those who are currently working and need a step up in they Careers, this program is the best choice. I enrolled a couple of months ago in Health Tech Academy's Sterile Processing program, and so far, I am loving it. Super supportive team and excellent instructor's.

I had an excellent experience in the Surgical Tech program at Health Tech Academy. The program was well-structured, thorough, and designed to truly prepare students for the real demands of the operating room. The instructors were knowledgeable, supportive, and always willing to take the time to explain concepts clearly.

What stood out most was how practical and career-focused the training was—from sterile technique and instrumentation to exam prep and job readiness. I felt confident and well prepared by the time I completed the program.

Health Tech Academy genuinely cares about student success, and it shows in the quality of instruction and support provided throughout the program. I would absolutely recommend this program to anyone serious about becoming a Surgical Technologist.
