DO NOT USE...... Stay away robbing company

DO NOT USE....... been paying since 2015 with no claim and policy is now à£64.60 a month but for a claim for medical im insuranced only £500 which i hadn't realised. Spent in 1 treatment asked to be up the 500 to be told no its a new claim and I can't use his existing medical now. So all I've spent is absolutely useless. To then be told when I put claim in it has to be reviewed and accessed so I could end up with nothing coming back. What a complete joke of a company. Been loyal and can't help by changing my medical limit. What's the point of an insurance if you dont get the help needed. No point being loyal either as they just rob you one way or another STAY AWAY........BE WARNED

Appalling service, avoid

Appalling service, policies and responses. Very little is actually covered and even though euthanasia is listed as covered in policy they refuse to pay. I am left covering this cost at a time I cannot afford it and they didn't even have the decency to respond to the claim or emails. I had to ring up and have been left in tears. DO NOT USE

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY I wish i could give a Minus 5 stars for this Scam company, we have been with them since 2013 and never claimed and even though they put my policy up every year we stayed: i have been paying these scammers £50 per month £600 per year for cover for my dog, I need to claim this week June 2025 to discover they will only pay out £500 per separate injury up to a maximum of £2000 a year total which is a total of 4 claims maximum. can anyone tell me what injury at a vets cost £500 or less . we are now into £3000 bills for a broken leg and still on going and this Company want £250 excess and will only pay out £250 which adds up to a single £500 claim ??? you cannot write this : DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

Avoid at all costs!

Avoid at all costs!! rip off merchants!! just want your money! have been with them for 8 years and tried to claim for vet bill for my dogs tooth treatment when she had an infection but guess what that was not covered as I did not take her to the vet for 6 monthly dental checks!! would have been better off putting the money aside than paying them!

Make sure you read the policy fully!

Disgusted that my policy Increased on average £25-£30 a year resulting in nearly £100 a month. When he was 5 I reduced the policy down a level because of the increases in the monthly payment but still had up to £4000 cover per year and still paying nearly £100! My dog was now 11 so I felt it was pointless shopping around!
I have claimed all of 4 / 5 times in 11 years for minor things and was always reimbursed but on this occasion when it came down to investigation and euthanasia you would only pay a portion due to the 25 % excess charge because of his age , after loyal custom for 11 years I have now not only lost my dog but have to find the remaining £1200 that you won’t settle. Yes it’s all in The t&c’s and didn’t realise this 25% had kicked in ( shows how often I claimed) so I have no right to moan but I’m feeling let down by how you rip off your loyal customers as I may as well have just put that amount away every month

This is a very poor Pet Insurance Company. .You are never covered for what you expect by the time they take away their various excess. You are particularly penalise if you have an older pet. You are far better off putting the premium,s in a bank account than using this particular Company.

Avoid!

This company are thieves. They have waited until my rabbits were over 5 years old, then knowing I can't swap insurance, the prices for all3 have gone up by over £160 a year. Disgusting customer service & have refused point blank to review the premiums. Utter joke, AVOID!

FRAUDSTERS!! REVIEWS…

I WISH ID READ THESE NEGATIVE REVIEWS BEFORE I DULY PAID MY MONTHLY INSURANCE PREMIUMS FOR 9 YEARS AND WHEN I NEED IT THEY TRY TELLING ME, THAT ALL THE CONDITIONS MY DOG HAD( who incidentally died) ARE ALL RELATED TO THE ONE CONDITION THEREFORE THEY ARE NOT GOUNG TO PAY OUT WHAT THEY SHOULD!!!!!

Cover they provide is poor for the money you pay. the premium increases each year and the cover provided decreases. Have been paying £35 a month only to find they will provide cover of £400 minus the excess on a condition. Pointless, best just putting the money in savings each month and pay the vet bills yourself

Dick Turpin wears a mask at least when he robs you!

Been with Helpucover for 9 years.
The premium increase every year has become a joke!
I have to leave them now as I cannot afford their cover, I can get it at a quarter of the price on a comparison site.
I’ve always looked after my dog, with a vet plan and tailored food.
But now feel like Helpucover don’t actually want me as a customer and are punishing my loyalty.

Poor, poor claims service

I have been waiting now for two weeks for Helpucover to process and pay my claim for my strayed cat without success. Sent them all the paperwork two weeks ago. I have sent them several emails for updates. No payment has been received. I called their 'customer service' department a week ago and they said they are waiting for 'further information' from the vet!
No response from Helpucover regarding my claim.
This is the worst service I have received from any company regarding a claim. I expected more from Helpucover.
Their poor ratings on here seem to mirror that this is not an isolated issue.
Come on Helpucover, you need to do much better than this!
This is unacceptable and disgraceful service. Sort out your claims process. Two weeks is poor and inexcusable by any measure.
Sort yourselves out!

Cannot change Credit Card Expiry Date

I received a letter from helpucover.co.uk to say my credit was going to expire in 30 days, BUT it is not actually going to expire until 2027.
I phoned last Monday and was on the phone for 30 minutes and was finally told they could not change it. They would call me back, but by today, 4 days later no call was received.
I called again and was told that a "Senior" would call me back.
We are talking here about a very simple administration task of updating the expiry date on the card already on file.
What is the point in having a customer service team that does not have the ability to make changes to card payments details.
Very poor..

I can't believe that my policy for my…

I can't believe that my policy for my springer spaniel has gone up again by £208.12 per year (£17.41 per month) making it £1404.84 now. Alfie has had issues in the past but nothing since 2021 and as a pensioner this is very hard. HelpuCover actually say " we have been with them for a number of years now and we may be able to get cheaper cover if we shop around but we have to compare like for like"

Our insurance increase was because our Dog is 8 and apparently that's when it starts costing? No thought of us being insured by them for 8 years without a claim. Got a better deal on a comparison site.. shocked how little they actually care.

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY

where to begin with this appalling company, so we pay nearly £600 annually to insure our 8 year old dog ,recently she had to have Boas surgery at a cost of £3500 (worth every penny ) read excess was 25% of claim so presumed we'd only have to pay £750 towards cost ,stiill high but accepted as now 8 years old so thought the balance of £2750 would be paid by insurance,then called by vets to say they had paid ONLY £1000 and for us to pay remaining £2250 minus £250 depost well what a shock as policy wording leads you to believe up to £4000 max cover and £1000 per condition ,which like many people would believe that stating condition appears to be eg medicines and diagnosis etc ,appalling misleading info ,so basically if your pet was hurt in an accident it's classed as a condition apparently ,so only £750 paid of your huge bill you only ever would receive £750 because of excess total , utter rip off as I've sadly found out would give 0 stars if possible really not worth £150 gain this year after 8 years of being a customer ,please find a decent company ,will take to trading standards to help others hopefully they will change wording to show that policy is'nt worth anything STAY CLEAR

If your looking for an insurance company to cover your pet then if you read nothing else then just read this......
DO NOT GET PET INSURANCE FROM HELPUCOVER.

This company are quite happy to increase your monthly amount by £19+ despite a really fit healthy pet.
They told me my insurance wouldn't increase if I claimed... sadly that year I did have to claim and my next yearly renewal went up £240 a year, from £36 a month to £56 a month despite a less than 1 thousand pound claim.
Basically they had us over a barrel saying her premiums wont ever come down now, and now she has pre existing she wont be fully covered with another insurer, this year they put it up £19n a month and from next year they want 25% of claims, she's only 7 years old, only one claim in her life so far touch wood.

We have found a new insurer at 2.5x's less than next years premium, and we get 2.5x's the cover. And despite helpucover's claims.... she is fully covered for everything.

Also they will cancel your policy despite taking your money and leave your pet uninsured because they don't understand (do not renew my policy) so cancel my insurance before the policy runs out, it just shows what type of company these people are, think of profits and screwing people over.

Avoid this company they have no conscience. Or care about you or your pet.

I last wrote here back in May 2022 and will add to the comment written then.Our dog is on its last legs literally.Our premiums have gone up every year consistently despite barely claiming..until now.Bizarrely the industry doesn't offer no claims bonus .I have just discovered (although I am sure it is in the terms and conditions of course) that I now have to meet each claim submitted with a 25% excess despite premiums going up annually to cover health in older years. Coupled with that they still are unable to communicate via email - if and when we get another dog I won't even consider this bunch despite 20 years worth of premium paid for two dogs .

Good bunny insurance

Had lifetime insurance for our bunny and had excellent service. No issues with claims, all paid including a final large bill just before our bunny sadly passed away. I would use this company again. They automatically cancelled the policy after out bunny passed away and reimbursed the overpaid days on the policy. Good service from our perspective so I was surprised to see the reviews here. Glad we got such good service. Thanks.
