Usual renewal scam. Unjustified increase in premium as existing customer.Cheaper rates offered to new customers not available to existing customers. I DO NOT LIKE BEING TREATED LIKE A FOOL AND CHEATED.

Our cat has had quite a few illnesses during our time with helpucover and we have never had any problems claiming for any of them. Through premiums have increased through the years, it was never by an extortionate amount and we have never wanted to leave as they have always been so good! Would definitely recommend.
MASSIVE Premium increase for loyal customer
Had no problems, made no claims for 3 years, then they increased my premiums without telling me.
I went elsewhere and got a whole year's equivalent cover for the cost of 10 weeks cover with them.
If you do go with them (which the majority do not recommend!), make a note in your diary to check in at renewal time because they completely stung me each year by adding on £10 PER MONTH! at renewal.
Terrible insurance company
Terrible insurance company, didn’t cover my Pets claim as the vet didn’t find a diagnosis despite all the money they spent on my pet and all the test. Tried to palm us off with pre existing condition which is strange if no condition could be diagnosed at any stage. Will be going to financial ombudsman as it is basically pointless having their insurance. Waste of time and monthly premiums.

Honestly cannot believe the atrocious service we have had from HelpUcover. Honest genuine claim refused for no valid reason even after laying a complaint. Not willing to help in any way. Will definitely be going to the ombudsman and cancelling our cover. So sorry I’ve wasted so much money paying them each month for absolutely nothing. Go elsewhere for pet insurance!!!! My cat almost died and they say it was not an illness as the vets could not pin point exactly what the cause was. Absolutely disgusted!!

I’ve been using helpucover for 6 years to insure my cat. He’s been repeatedly I’ll and regularly needs a surgical procedure (one year we had 6 claims). The people in the claims department have been wonderful, kind, understanding and patient. The staff are exceptional and are so caring . My claims were always settled within 4 weeks. I worked in insurance for 10 years and didn’t believe insurance companies like this existed. I don’t know what I would have done without their help and support and the speedy payment. I’m so grateful I decided to insure Harry with Helpucover. Thank you so much x
horrendous experience
horrendous experience. refused claim for my dog who needed a small operation. they palmed me off with the "pre-existing condition" rubbish. No previous issue with this just a conversation with the vet when he was a pup over 2 years prior. I am taking it to the ombudsman. Helpucover have been nothing but obstinate and dismissive.
My dog had an injury on a lifetime…
My dog had an injury on a pet lifetime premiere policy. The policy increased over 200% the following year. I complained and they stated it was a company wide policy or words to that effect. They also kindly added 2 exclusions, one being hyper sexuality. Something he has never been treated for, only ever discussed by myself and a vet. 1 year later after no further claims, the policy has increased a further 25%. I now have no option but to cancel my policy. I will not get cover for his high risk injuries anywhere now! My advice is stay well clear.
Watch out if you are staying with them...
Never had to claim for my pet insurance, and never had to deal with customer service, but my renewal came in this week for a wapping 37% increase. I shopped around, and checked comparethemarket, to find 10x the cover for just £3 more a month than I was paying last year. When I called to let my policy lapse, I was passed from one department to another, till someone said that they had paid out 95% of claims last year. To which I said I wasn't one of them, and told her that I had better cover for a better rate. She couldn't respond to that. Seems they don't care about retaining customers.
Great service and easy claim procedure.
I am very happy with my pet insurance from helpucover. After 3 years insuring my boxer dog with another well known company and the price rising each year, I decided to look around for a more competitive price. A friend recommended helpucover and their quote was well over half the price with the same cover. Within 6 weeks of my insurance switchover my dog was diagnosed with a heart murmur. He was sent south for further tests which cost over £800, helpucover paid out straight away and the claims procedure was straight forward. Excellent service from them, thanks.
Great service and pays out
I've had to claim repeatedly for my pet across 2 claim years now and the claims have always been paid in a timely way. Nothing has ever been questioned. Customer service has always been good when I've called.

My pet insurance started at £112 3 years ago. It is due to be renewed for £109 next week. I looked around and found the exact same plan with helpucover online for £74. I called them to ask about this and got ridiculous explanations such as "other companies will call the vets in your area and you will be on the hook for existing conditions" (there are none), and "vet prices have skyrocketed recently" (which is completely non-sensical) and "this is based on history of claims" (I have never, ever made a claim).
After politely refusing to accept this non-sensical garbage the rep, Jo, took on the most passive aggressive, sunny, fake-nice voice I have ever experienced. It was absolutely shocking behaviour. I was then put on with her manager Tina who was very nice, but by that time there was no way that I was going to continue giving this company - who obviously have nothing but lies and contempt for paying customers - any more of my money.
If they had lowered the policy by £25 or £30, or provided any shred of credible explanation, I would have stayed. Instead, they showed themselves to be liars and charlatans, and you can expect to be disrespected and abused if you dare to question the rubbish coming out of the mouths of their reps. Never ever again.

Checked Moneysupermarket for a quote an low and behold, HelpUcover policy , same details, same age of pet, same everything.... only a £2 increase on what im paying now. AVOID!!!
Very slow
They are very slow dealing with my sickness claim , i have posted out 2 different lots of paperwork both of which they say they have not received . Have now been off work 8weeks after a operation and have still received nothing. They have been happy to take my monthly premium for the last nine years and this is the first claim I have ever made , very disappointed .
4 weeks and still waiting!
Mobile phone was stolen. Submitting everything promptly. Still waiting. Unreliable, untrustworthy, unprofessional and unsympathetic. Constant use of emotive words like 'hopefully', 'should' and 'apologies'...
