Avoid Henson Motors worst after-sales support I’ve ever experienced.

I purchased a 2019 Volvo XC90 at 97008 on the clock from them july 2024, and from the moment issues started, the experience has been a nightmare. Their after-sales representative (Anna) ignored my emails and calls for weeks at a time. Every question I had about repairs or warranty cover was avoided, and I had to chase them repeatedly just to get basic communication.

At about 97,000 miles I had to replace both rear shock absorbers and both front lower arms. RAC Warranty only covers aftermarket parts, but Volvo only sells OEM parts for these components. I asked Henson Motors how RAC would estimate this, and they completely ignored me. I ended up paying for everything myself.

Later on, the car developed a major power issue. I took it to a Volvo dealer and specialist at my own expense, and it was diagnosed with an ERAD motor fault a very expensive hybrid component. When I opened a warranty claim, RAC insisted on an oil sample, yet every RAC-approved garage refused to perform the test, saying only Volvo or a specialist could do it. Instead of helping, RAC told me to tow the vehicle at MY expense just so they could get the sample. Completely unacceptable.

My vehicle has now been sitting for almost 3 months because neither Henson Motors nor RAC will take responsibility or provide proper support.

I have now opened a case with ADR (Alternative Dispute Resolution) for independent mediation, and I will be taking this even further because of how badly this whole situation has been handled.

Extremely disappointed. I would never recommend Henson Motors or the RAC warranty they sell.

I cannot recommend Henson Motor group highly enough, they went over the bridge and back for me, even when my own finance company couldn't get me a car, they found one that could aand even better there one was £100 cheaper per month, Thomas Kenny was brilliant and very understanding, told him what day I was off and roughly what time I'll be there, (leaving from north Aberdeenshire) it was definitely worth the road trip, I definitely wouldn't hesitate to buy another motor from them and will recommend them to my friends
