Ordered a dress which arrived with a £19 tax fee which I wasn't aware of then looked like a duvet!

Dress was described as satin, the satin material was in fact on the inside of the dress. It was also meant to have black and white beading on the arms it only had black.

When I asked for a refund and outlined the differences I got told the dresses were not like pictures and based on my measurements sent over (I never sent measurements it was a size choice when buying) so they clearly hadn't looked into my order!! Freyed cotton ends also hanging out looking unfinished! How anyone could wear the dress is beyond me. The fact it's so thick also means it cannot be used for an evening event despite it being described as an evening dress. I'm absolutely gobsmacked.

I will be reporting to the company to the ombudsmen and action fraud and will be fighting for my refund - requests which they are currently ignoring!

I ordered my prom dress from herdress after reading all of the good reviews on their website- not knowing they were all 5* reviews. I decided to take a look on here, hearing about other people's experiences and honestly I was fearing for my life, thinking it was going to be rubbish and a waste of money. However, I was totally wrong and it was just as shown on their website. The only thing that could have been improved is the way it was packaged and sent to us. It was in only a bag, in which then transferred a few black marks onto the dress. I was a bit disappointed on that but they soon sponged of wth a damp cloth. Overall, I am very pleased with the quality of the dress and it fitted just as we ordered it.

Our experience with this company is very similar to a couple of reviews below. In fact it might be the same dress. We ordered a dress for our daughter's prom. We gave them the exact measurements etc. What we got sent in horrible packaging, all rolled up on a ball was shocking. The sizing is way off, there are ink marks on it and the hem is unfinished. It looks like it was cut by a toddler! I emailed them to inform them that we want to send it back for a FULl refund and was basically told We're out of luck! I have informed them of our statuary rights so we'll see what comes of that. We'll be taking it further if nothing is addressed ASAP.

They are also based is Asia not in the U.K! The photo reviews on their website are bogus as well. I've seen some of those photos elsewhere! Please avoid this company at all costs!!

Having read many varied reviews I was at first hesitant to purchase my wedding dress on the Internet but my concerns were soon put to rest by the reassurances of the online chat team and I decided to take a chance in purchasing my dream wedding dress! I am absolutely thrilled with the results and cannot thank the whole team at herdress enough!! The dress is beautiful, the quality of the lace stunning and the customer service I recieved was absolutley faultless. The alterations I requested were made to the letter and I promise after my big day to share and show you pictures of their fabulous work.... in fact I am so impressed I will be buying all 6 of my Bridesmaids dresses from herdress too!!

This company is a waste of time, I found the most beautiful dress and in the picture on the model it looked beautiful, I then measured myself and looked at their sizing chart and selected what they made out to be a size 12. I was told the dress total plus shipping and I still thought it was quite reasonable for a dress that is being tailor made, because £140 in total wasn't bad, I then found out 3 days before the dress came I had to pay another £25!! I was not told about this! I was confused as to why I had to pay tax for an English company, they're not English, they like to make you think they're English to that you'll buy their dresses thinking that English laws apply when returning but no they don't apply because they're Chinese, when the dress finally arrived, the mailman handed it to me and I was genuinely confused as to what I had ordered that came in a package like that, I took it out the packaging and it was this dress, I was appalled with the packaging, it should've come in a nice box or something, as soon as I picked the dress up I noticed the beading was sharp and could hurt me if I wore that all night, there was loose threads hanging from it everywhere and it was poorly stitched together, and as a strapless dress you'd expect it to be quite lightweight but no the skirt was too heavy and it falls down and even so it would fall down because it's too big it's roughly a size 14 when I asked for 12 and the fabric has been cut awfully, the fabric looks like it had been cut by a small child. This completely threw me off, I emailed the company saying look I'm not happy with this can I have a return, and they told me to put the dress on and show them, and may I just note I think that is highly inappropriate, I refused and Sent them pictures of the edges of the dress and the beading and the loose threads, they then emailed me back saying, to take it to a tailor, and I then refused saying that it was their job, and they replied with nobody will notice, and I'm sorry I didn't pay £115 for a dress to look tatty, I then sent them what my consumer rights were and that I would take further action if they refused to refund me my money and since then they've not responded, so I think its time to take it up with my bank! I'm not happy! Think I'll be going to a shop! Feel like such an idiot for not looking around for reviews first.

If I could give 0 stars for this company, then I would. Please note this is not a UK site, they try to make you think that it is UK based but it's actually located in China. On top of the shipping charges, you will also have to pay a TNT tax import charge which they do not mention when purchasing the dress. Don’t be fooled by the glowing reviews on the website, they are fake.

I am extremely disappointed with this website. This was my first online purchase for a custom fit dress. I ordered it in November for a Christmas Party in December. I gave all the correct measurements and specified that I wanted the dress shortened. When I received the dress, it looked nothing like the picture, it was made from a really cheap material; the dress was too long and didn’t fit properly (was too big despite giving exact measurements), plus the slit on the dress was meant to be on the side but was in the middle. I could not wear this dress.

So I contacted customer service to start the return process explaining what was wrong with the dress only for them to tell me to take it to a tailors. This makes no sense as I had just spent money for a tailoring service from them! I continued to email over pictures clearly showing the dress was defective however they dodged and ignored any questions I had. I wasted hours of my time trying to get a refund from them. It was one of the worst customer service experiences that I have ever had. Ultimately they offered a £5 refund for a £120 dress which I had already spent £40 on shipping/tax. They said that £5 is all I’m going to get.

I went to my bank to dispute the matter, which I recommend as that is the only way you will be able to get a refund. I had a clear case for the bank to work with given I had records of all the correspondence with the company. I opened up a case in December. I have only just been refunded £120 for the dress itself. It was not worth all that hassle. Do not bother buying from here. I wish I had read the reviews from Trust pilot before I made the purchase.

Placed an order at the beginning of January and was promised it would be delivered by the 20th. Didn't turn up until a couple of days after that date after receiving tracking info stating it was coming from Singapore and then was held at Heathrow. This wasn't the end of the world as I didn't need it until beginning of Feb, however when opening the package the dress has completely different coloured beads sewn onto it which was nothing like the image of the dress online. Online it was an white dress with ivory beads and the received dress had gold beads. Adding on to this thread holding the beads on was hanging off all over the place, sticking out and in no way had been finished. Adding further to my disappoint was when my partner tried the dress on. She couldn't even get it on! We had measured before ordering the dress and used the online sizing guide to ensure we got the correct size however the dress that we received was completely mismatched in sizing... Then onto the fun and games with Her Dress Customer Service... On their website it clearly states "Q:What is your Return Policy?
A: Customers need to contact Herdress.co.uk Customer Service to initiate the return process within 7 days upon receiving your items. If your product arrives in a defective manner, mis-shipped or color error, you are qualified to get a full refund." We filled out the online form as requested to receive the returns form which we never had a response from. We then emailed directly including images of the dress to be told we could get an 8% refund, a little way away from a full refund!

Do not order from this company! Take your business elsewhere as Her Dress will just con you.

This company is a total shame do not buy anything from them my wedding dress is so awful I would not put it on my dog. The colour the design and the size are all wrong. I have spent hours emailing them just 5%discout offered. My wedding is fast approaching I have no dress and it seems very unlikely that I will get the money back to buy another one.DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THiS COMPANY

I bought 2 different prom dresses and the quality isn't as good as I was hoping for. The packaging was disgusting. Both dresses folded up as small as they could go and put into clear bags then squashed into an grey plastic mail bag.I paid £39.30 for delivery then an extra £4.36 duty during delivery in which I was never told about when placing my order. I also only ordered from this site because I thought it was a UK based company. But it is in fact based in China. Not impressed at all.

I want to begin with saying what a shame it was I even had to put 2 star! Let me stress, you can't put no stars and write a review!

Ok so I feel such an idiot, I read all the testimonials on their website and they all seemed positive and every customer was very happy with their orders however I wish I had of read all these comments first.

I ordered 6 champagne coloured bridesmaid dresses for my wedding this coming August, they looked beautiful on the pictures advertised and I wasn't sure what colour the model was wearing in the photo the dress was advertised in so I said I wanted 6 dresses in the colour shown in the photo which was clearly a very pale champagne with a sheen to the bodice, it looked beautiful.

However I recieved them and they are peach coloured!! I immediately contacted "herdress.co.uk" I have sent over 25 emails to them and they don't make an ounce of sense, they dodge your questions and will not refund me, they told me there is nothing wrong with the dresses and to keep them and make do!!

I can't keep them as they don't match my colour scheme to my wedding and it doesn't look like the same dress. I paid on debit card but have contacted my bank and raised a dispute and also reported this company to trading standards.

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. they are a scam company, 10000% not UK based either, their English is hilarious and they have no idea how to run a company professionally.

Bought a prom dress for my daughter - does not fit at all and not nearly as nice as photo.They are refusing to refund and their customer service e-mails are rude and very badly written.

Got a dress two sizes smaller than ordered- they will not refund or exchange. Atrocious customer service, worst experience ever.

Ordered custom made dress provided my measurements - dress arrived description was NOT as described.. and was not made to my measuements in fact the dress was about 5 inches adrift! Custom charges are not made clear enough and should be displayed at the point of or just before checkout. Customer service is appalling and rude.. they constantly hide behind email and keep there emails brief ignoring your questions

I've reclaimed the cost of the dress from my bank as I paid by credit card. I would advise anyone else who has had issues to do the same and hopefully get this company shut down

I purchased a dress from this company in January 17, it arrived with marks on it and the stitching round the neck coming undone, I emailed and sent photos to prove how it arrived and I asked for a refund which I was offered firstly 5%
Then 8% , I turned both offer's down and emailed them there refund policy and asked for a full refund and a returns label and I have not herd a thing from them. This company is a real fake, don't believe their policy's

Be vary wary about ordering for Her Dress! I have had nothing but problems with them. Ordered my dress and it arrived and it was a completley different colour to that advertised, not to mention after giving them my correct measurements it does not fit at all! The customer service is shocking, it takes ages for them to respond!!! They have finally responded to say as I am responsible for the cost of sending it back, why dont I keep the dress and they have offered me 5% back on the cost of the dress! Absolutley shocking!!! Its a completley different colour! I dont see why I should be out of pocket here at all!!! Even the pattern is different so BEWARE folks!!!!

Sadly I did not read this site before spending £900 with this company. Everything everyone says is true. I just hope I can get the money back from my credit card company

The beautiful green dress advertised on herdress.co.uk was breaktaking, totalkly WOW in the photo BUT I am bitterly disappointed with the piece of faded blue cloth which has just arrived in the post. Total misrepresentation. I compalined immediately on receipt and attached photographic evidence documenting it as a disaster.

1. It is baby blue, not green as in the photo.
2. It is pulled in places over the bodice.
3. It has rouching on the seams.
4. It is poorly finished.
5. It has plastic press studs sewn in with visible white cotton.

I paid in full in good faith. I was charged 25€ import duties from Singapore.

Please advise urgently as I am not happy with the blue dress for all the above reasons.

I would appreciate a refund of the cost and shipping and customs duties.

Rude, robotic answers offering 5% which equates to 3 Euros in compensation and I was obliged to keep the dress. I would like to return the dress at their cost and have a full refund and prevent this disastrous experience happening to anyone else. This Website should be taken down. It is a SCAM with false marketing and misrepresentation. The dress was made in China and sent from Singapore not the UK!!!

Bought a dress and even though it was bought through a UK company the dress came from China and got a duty charge of nearly 50% of the cost. Also to make it even worse the dress doesnt fit. I asked for 35" bust it turned up at 32"!
Been in contact with them via email - no answer!!!!!!

Dishonest, purporting to be a UK company but are not.
Purchased a prom dress for my daughter and paid delivery costs on top of the cost of the dress. dress came which was ok to be honest, not quite like the picture but ok. I emailed them asking about the quality and it took 4 emails before getting a response which just fobbed me off. I now have a TNT bill for customs and excise import duty for £36 which I have to pay as the dress was a "GIFT"???? and came from outside the UK.
This company use a .co.uk website address and do not anywhere on thier site state they are outside the UK and the products will attract import duty.
I emailed them to ask why this was and they ignored my emails for over a week. then just sent a dismissive email stating that some countries could attract taxes..... no mention that they themselves were not UK based.
DO NOT USE.
