We planned to retire back to dry land (again!) after 7 happy years cruising the waterways in our narrowboat. Sadly the pandemic hit just as we put our rented/renovated house on the market. With no sale any time soon, we decided to go ahead anyway. We approached an advisor, who recommended and arranged a bridging loan, charging a substantial upfront fee. We did not feel happy with this, and on a suggestion from someone, approached Heritage. Thank goodness we did! Will was a breath of fresh air, and after some negotiation (no upfront charge here) managed to secure us a short term mortgage fixed rate for 5 years. Given that I am over 70, that was surprising but very welcome. We re-let our property, and the rental income helps with the mortgage repayments. Will was really helpful keeping us regularly posted and helping with advice and guidance throughout. I thoroughly recommend Will and Heritage.

From start to finish my experience with Steve Drake of heritage mortgages was of the highest calibre.
The level of professionalism and expertise combined with a friendly and calm approach really helped to take the stress out of the mortgage process.
Our plans changed more than once along the way, but Steve was very understanding and his experience and depth of knowledge provided us with excellent information and confidence about the options available to us. Steve kept us up to date with the process and was always available via phone or email or WhatsApp.

From start to finish, Will was hands down super lovely! If your looking for a mortgage advisor then look no further. As a first time buyer I found it so confusing, Will explained everything to me and made sure I understood every part of the process. No question was ever to silly. He was always available anytime of day via WhatsApp which was great for me as I’m terrible at emails. After lockdown and not really knowing where we stood regarding what we could afford and the current state of the market, Luke took the time on several occasions to run us through our options, give very sound advice and give us the confidence when we were viewing properties of how we should proceed. Luke at Heritage was absolutely amazing, I have never had a good experience with a Mortgage Advisor before and was a little dubious that this would be the same experience. This was our first mortgage together and Luke was very informative throughout the process. He enabled us to understand the full amount we could borrow and manage to pay back monthly.
