Poor returns
Unable to return item which was sent to me in error (and charged to me). I ordered two items by mistake and was emailed and asked if I wanted to cancel one of the items. I said yes please, and gave the order number which I wished to cancel. I then received both items in the post and was charged for both. I asked to return one and was given no dates for the item to be collected. Customer services seemed very confused and I am still waiting to hear from them.
Having brought an HP desk jet printer
Having brought an HP desk jet printer, and it will not connect
the technical support terrible. I am unable to speak to any one and the virtual support is not fit for purpose. Will be returning the printer
I made the mistake in buying an ENVY…
I made the mistake in buying an ENVY Photo 7830 printer. I can honestly say it is expensive to use, has poor performance and needs constant attention. Without doubt, this is most costly and troublesome printer I have owned. Colour printing cost is ridiculously high and I can only afford to use it for mono printing. I wish I had not bought it, as this product deserves zero stars! Bill Hewlett and David Packard who started the company and made superb equipment would be ashamed their names are associated with this modern rubb**h!
Stay away from HP
If there is a zero or negative star - that would be my score. Completely piece of crap from hardware to software. For hardware, I think the company asked blind, disabled engineers to design the keyboard - left tilted mouse pad will always end up clicking the right key when you simply click left on a natural position. The up/down arrow keys and function keys are as tiny as possible to ensure you click on the wrong buttons with 100% accuracy. Restarted software will take you easily half an hour just to restart the computer. Why the company still exist? Short sellers should write millions of reports on why its stock price should go down to 0...........simply speechless
HP - Reneged on our Instant Ink deal
I was looking for a new Printer and saw a Hewlett Packard model with an Instant Ink package. . . Print less than 15 pages/month and cartridges replaced free - any pages over your 15 are charged for.
A year or so later after luring you in with this offer and they have changed their T’s & C’s - so now I’m to be charged about £1/month for their initial “Free” offer.
I consider HP to be DISHONEST and DISINGENUOUS.
Hang your heads in shame HP.
Do not buy from hp
Do not buy from hp, worst company of all time. Customer service is abysmal.
Appalling customer service
The back light on our 14 month old All in One PC suddenly stopped working. We were initially told that a repair would be free, then that changed given the fact it was 2 months out of warranty. We had no idea as we hadn’t been notified so we weren’t given the chance to renew. Then we were told that this break down was unacceptable and that our case would be escalated, giving us hope. Those hopes were then dashed on being told by another department they didn’t do individual spare parts, and the whole unit would need to be replaced. Upon enquiring how much that would be we were transferred to yet another department. This turned out to be sales .. why? Anyway, longshot is that the repair cost would be £490!!! Almost as much as a new computer!! The young man who delivered this news then went on to pressure us into buying a new PC instead and offered several options. He has since phoned me and said that if I don’t make a decision within 48 hours, my case will be dropped! I find this totally unacceptable. Our last PC was over 11 years old before it developed any problems. This one is barely 14 months old. One of the people I spoke to there actually said they didn’t make things to last these days! I am totally disgusted with both the quality of the product and the lack of customer service from HP and will definitely not be buying anymore of their products.
The Worst Experience I have ever had.
The Worst Experience I have ever had.
I bought a top of the range Elite Book Dragonfly. The Battery lasted less than 3 hours with standard usage, of emails and internet. The Technical support team agreed the product was faulty and I got authorization to speak to the service team to send the laptop back. 3 months later I am still trying to get my case escalated to a manger. My requests are routinely ignored by an a service department that provide no service or value. I will never spend money with HP again. They don't deserve the single star I have to give in this review or any customers.
HP Printer and Instant Ink dissapointing experience
I purchased new HP printer which came with own cartridges.
I started printing and meanwhile I read more about the Instant Ink service and decided to subscribe to their trial for 15 pages free for 3 months.
I noticed that when I subscribed, their system started counting the free pages off my own cartridges
I contacted HP and I was assured by HP support team member that the service will start counting pages once I install their cartridges which I had not yet received when I raised the question.
I then noticed that I am billed for the pages over the monthly allowance, but I did not have their cartridges yet installed in the printer.
When I contacted HP again I was told that indeed the subscription starts when I enrol and that I will be charged for using my own cartridges.
I am extremely disappointed that HP started charging me for using my own cartridges.
What a lie they told me to engage me and take money off my bank.
What a scam!
If I could give minus stars I would…
If I could give minus stars I would ....
Customer service - what customer service, the right hand has no idea what the left hand is doing, departments can only contact each other by email so it takes days for any replies, they have had my laptop for a month now and I am still waiting for it to be sent back as they are unable to fix the webcam but they aren't quite sure where it is, fab NOT
Better printer than some, awful software and support
The printer is quite good, but the software associated with it is awful. The service department don't understand how their own software works, and any attempt to get help or offer my own is stonewalled in the usual fashion of small companies.. I can work out out many of the faults but this little outfit is not interested
New 14" Laptop
I purchased a new 14" laptop (14-dk0599sa), only had it a few days, so far happy with the purchase, however it needed an additional cable (SATA to Motherboard) for adding a second solid state drive. I knew this in advance of purchase - so no surprises, however I wasn't aware this very thin, small cable would cost nearly £25.
A rather expensive addition, considering it would be pennies to make (Made in China). It could really be included with the laptop itself, doesn't need to be an add-on item, even if it pushed the purchase price of the laptop up £2-3.
Cannot recommend HP Laptops or Desktops
In the last 2 years I have purchased an HP printer, HP Desktop Pavilion and 2 Laptops.
I have always purchased HP printers and done so for many years and they have always been great purchases.
However, HP laptops and desktops leave a great deal to be desired.
The first HP laptop I had went back for repair at least twice in the first 12 months but the 2nd one has been back 3 or 4 times. 3 times because the hinges keep breaking and once for a Hard Drive problem. It is with HP at the moment for yet another repair of the hinges.
Added to this the screen went haywire and was showing two sets of images which made it impossible to navigate the laptop.
I asked HP for help and they said it needed a new screen but they accepted no responsibility for this even though it was on extended warranty but they would repair it for £320. The laptop only cost me £347. I eventually got it repaired via a local repair centre for £92.
As, in my opinion this laptop is not fit for purpose I have asked on more than one occasion for either a refund or replacement. These requests have been ignored.
I have been informed that this latest repair is likely to take approximately 2 months while the others took about 10 days.
Having owned computers since the very first Sinclair ZX81 and several laptops and desktops I do know how to handle them so there must be a major flaw on the hinges for them to break so often.
The HP desktop I have has had numerous sound problems too.
I will say that HP Technical Support have been very good, friendly and knowledgeable.
poor service. poor communication.
For three years I have paid £1.99. month for ink have a limit of 50copies per month. I doubt if I have printed 50 copies a Year. Colour cartridge is empty....got to wait 10 days for a replacement. WHY ? Paid over £70 so far ...for one set of cartridges, what is the point of this "service" ?
I would give them ZERO STARS if I was able to!
03/06/20 - No retailers have stock of the HP all-in-one printer I want to buy, including HP. I call HP customer services, after holding for 24 minutes, I got a very disinterested sales person who said they have no stock of the HP Envy Photo 7134 all-in-one-printer and she's unable to tell me when or if they will get more stock. Instead of suggesting some alternatives to this model, the call was ended.
06/06/20 - After searching online, I find the printer model I enquired about at one lone retailer. Bought an HP Envy Photo 7134 all-in-one printer.
07/06/20 - Have a mare setting it up (over four hours) because using an ethernet cable is clearly "not allowed". Admit defeat and set it up to use wirelessly.
08/06/20 - Print quality not great, spend six hours (!) on HP Customer Support - Knowledge Base website, trying every single one of the troubleshooting suggestions. No luck. Frustrated, got work to do, so leave it.
09/06/20 - After spenging another two hours first thing in the morning trying all the troubleshooting suggestions again, still with VERY poor print quality, I contact HP Support UK on Whatsapp at 10:05. At 10:18 I have a response introducing themselves... then... nothing for another five minutes. This continues for hours with me following instructions, printing page after page after page, photographing and sending them to technical support.
I have now been told to contact the company I bought my PC from, as the printing issue is the PC's fault, not the printer! I mean, seriously? Are you for real HP? Then when I get a little more pushy (still polite though!) and say it's got nothing to do with the PC manufacturer, I get told to send copies (again!) of all the print outs I have done all morning - which the tech support have already received.
Then I get told it's a faulty cartridge... that new ones will be arriving in 10 to 15 working days (which was automatically triggered when I signed up for HP Instant Ink). When I asked why they couldn't be sent as a priority, this is the response I received:
"Yes the shipment has already been triggered automatically. It will take 10-15 Business Days due to the current COVID-19 situation. We are slowly and steadily making transportation happen quickly. You should be getting your ink cartridges by that time frame I have provided."
So not only does HP really not care about after-sales service, but they don't care that a faulty or defective product is not rectified as a priority. The WhatsApp technical support chat ended at 13:15 - another half a day wasted!
I have the full copy of the WhatsApp chat to prove everything stated here, should a representative from HP be bothered to do something about it.
I've decided to give them the benefit of the doubt - I will wait for the replacement ink cartridges - if they don't resolve the problem I will be returning this printer for a full refund, cancelling my HP Instant Ink subscription, and will buy Epson or Canon instead.
Shame on you Hewlett Packard.
Only gave 1 star because there is…
Only gave 1 star because there is nothing any lower!!! Bought a house printer and signed up for instant ink....1 week later ink runs out and the shipment that was sent 22 days ago(?) according to my account still has not arrived at my home! Took over a week to get to actually speak to someone on the phone to be told that nobody is qualified there to speak to me regarding my query and that someone would call me back in 48 working hours..??? It is 16.29 on Friday afternoon which puts me on to Tuesday next week...I have had use of the printer for 1 week of the month that I have owned it for and have suffered the worst customer service that I have ever had the misfortune to try to deal with...(and I have been a Vodafone customer for 10+ yrs at that...!!!) Absolutely RAGING angry with the incompetence and ignorance of the people I have spent a week and a half trying to speak to! I feel sick I’m that angry!!! 🤬🤬🤬
HP Pavilion - the worst PC I have ever had.
In January I bought a basic PC to work from home. HP Pavilion i3 4GB 1TB Desktop PC 318/4033. It was replacing a trusty old Dell which operated Windows 7 and I was persuaded that I needed to move on. This PC is described on argos.co.uk as 'powerful' and 'exceeds expectations'. Sadly it is the WORST PC I have ever had. Their support people have performed various remote checks (they say it's all fine) and advised me to do complete reset which I have done. It remains painfully slow. HP help staff have tried to blame it on Microsoft - ultimately this PC is not capable of operating basic MS office and day to work with documents and websites; I click and there is even a wait before the never ending spinning cursor appears. I have spent hours and hours trying to solve this or just waiting for the machine to respond. I have asked HP to send me a machine that works but - no response. I'm planning to unplug it and go back to the old Dell.
Appalling service yet again!
Yet again HP excel. They have managed to send the incorrect colour cartridge pack from their store, despite it being ordered from within the printer app itself! E mail produced referral to telophone line which is unobtainable due to volumes Covid 19 traffic.
HP store out of stock of product. Obtained by return (genuine product) from 3rd party supplier.
Due to lack of assistance & communication I will be taking the financial hit on the original order, but will not be using HP store again under any circumstances.
10/06/20 Absolutely nil response to date to my direct complaint to HP - totally ignored!
What an appalling company!
I am in the UK and bought an HP Envy…
I am in the UK and bought an HP Envy Photo printer 6234 at the end of August 2019. I then went on holiday overseas until the 6th November 2019 so I hadn't used it. Since my return in November I have hardly used it as its just a home printer. In March 2020 the cartridges jammed and despite many conversations with HP technical support in India they agreed they needed to replace it. The replacement arrived about a week later and when I opened it I realized it wasn't a new one! When I asked I was told they just send out refurbished models. Surely not correct? When I tried to set it up, it wouldn't connect to my Wi Fi. Again hours spent on the phone to different people at HP in India all telling me to do the same things that I'd tried with other HP employees whom I'd spoken to. In the end they said they would replace it again.....but not a new one. Yesterday 6th April I spoke with one of their people in Lisbon Portugal who argued with me about the timing on his email for him to call me. Such a rude man. Again saying they would not give me a new printer or refund my money. I said I wanted to contact someone much higher than him and he said that he would email their contact details. This has not happened.
Deceitful marketing to trick you into buying their product
Purchased a Hewlett Packard printer with a £50 cashback offer. Despite sending every piece of documentation supplied, Receipt and Delivery Note they won't pay. There is nothing more that could be sent. Blatant trickery and wriggling out of an offer. Will be returning for a full refund.
