I expected it to be a cheap, fragile e-bike for the money the bike is offered for. I have been pleasantly surprised. The bike may not be as lout proof as some other brands (live in a big busy city), but it is anything but fragile. The bike is solidly built. Brakes and gears work well and the latter is also customizable. I am quite tall, so I lean a bit far forward and heavy on the handlebars, but I did not find this annoying.
I haven't had to contact customer service yet, so I can't say anything about that. But I like the bike and I haven't seen another bike for that price that could appeal to me more. It is solid, cycles well and is pleasantly fast.

The ad for this bike came across in Facebook. Since the price appealed to me, and the various reviews on the net were positive, I purchased it.
The bike was delivered well packaged and a few parts, such as handlebars, front wheel and pedals, still needed to be assembled. This assembly is a job that takes some time, but is not very difficult. Furthermore, I put some locks on it myself.
Although for the price you expect a budget bike, the finish is considerably higher than expected. Everything fits well and is nicely finished. Even the welds are very nicely finished. The bike looks and feels solid.
The bike also rides well. The app allows you to adjust some settings for the support to what you like best. The display is clear and uncluttered and the brakes work well. The bike can go a bit faster than the 25 km/h allowed in the Netherlands, but I don't find that a problem.
Unfortunately, the on/off button broke quickly. I suspect something went wrong here during transport. I was then only able to turn the bike on via the app. I contacted customer service about this and got a quick response. After exchanging some information, a new display connecting the on/off button was sent to me (thank you Fawn). Received and mounted within a couple of days and since then have had several hundred kilometers of trouble-free cycling.
A bike which is very competitive in price with other e-bikes but certainly not inferior in quality and cycling pleasure. I am very happy with it.

Bought two EC bikes in April which were delivered in a timely manner. Put them together fine.

Noticed on both bikes the on/off button on the battery has no purpose. Missing rear rack for the one bike which took 4 months to arrive. Spare batteries took nearly 3 months to arrive.
Customer service response “wait longer” and “be patient”. It’s illegal to not fulfill an order within 30 days according to the consumer rights act.

Finally with all purchases received. The one bike has lost it’s on/off functionality - according to customer service it needs a new LCD, however, no stock so back to the “wait longer” and “be patient” responses.

I’ve requested a full refund which has been denied despite it being well within the consumer rights. I’ve been offered money, helmets, phone holders and now a brand new bike which I don’t want as I do not want a Heybike. They’re a safety concern and I don’t feel safe on it. I’ve sent 20 emails regarding and just get the same generic response “sorry for the bad shopping experience but you must wait more”.

Despite being Heybike UK. It is just a registered address. The bike is Chinese, the customer service is Chinese and the service is very very poor.

My advice to anyone is to buy a bike from an actual shop that you can take it to if it goes wrong.

I purchased the Hey Bike Commuter EC1 for my wife, and we are extremely satisfied with it. The bike is remarkably lightweight, making it ideal for both cycle tracks and roads. Additionally, the discrete battery design maintains a classic and elegant appearance.

I can't really comment too much on the bikes capabilities as it arrived faulty, over two months ago at the beginning of April.
It's impossible getting any information as the email responses are so slow, and the customer service line is never answered. The emails that are sent in reply to mine are just repeats of the same questions (such as confirming my address) and half the time read like a bot has written it, or they are repeated promises to send replacement parts, but without actually resolving anything.
They have been unable to diagnose the fault via email questions but promised that a replacement controller would be sent - 5 weeks later and still no controller or any idea if it has ever been dispatched.
If you get a bike that works then great, if not it seems it is lost money as Heybike don't care about their customers.

We ordered 2electric bikes from Heybike 1 is ok the other is unusable . Brakes not working & lcd doesn’t work so can’t switch on either with app or manually! They have agreed to replace it but no indication when . We bought these for our cycling holiday in 2 weeks not a lot of use when 1 bike is unusable ! No response from customer service by email or messages. Phone goes straight through to answer machine . We are at our wits end with this company . Grrrrrrr
