No delivery, no info, unprofessional
I ordered a helmet to be delivered to my French address. The order was confirmed on February 18th. On March 2nd I get an email that says the order has been cancelled due to my request. I never cancelled my order. I therefore call High Octane and am told it is cancelled because they did not have it in stock.
Why do you sell things you dont have in stock? WHy do you accept orders and take payment on things you do not have in stock. The woman on the phone started shouting and saying I was unreasonable. Saying she had called my number in London, which she had, and she was then told I was working abroad. Then she just sends an email saying I have cancelled the order, two weeks after I ordered it. Well, to me it is unprofessional to accept orders and charge money on things you do not have in stock or is able to deliver. I now have no time to order a helmet on line and therefore have to pay more in a shop. I will take my business elsewhere and suggest you do the same.

I am sorry that you feel aggrieved about how we have dealt with your order.
Our system and review processes flagged up your order as being high risk due to a number of factors:
• Your order was placed in The USA with a UK billing address and a delivery address in France.
• The product was to be delivered to a different name to that of the purchaser.
We always check against the possibility of fraudulent orders that are flagged by our system, when there are 2 people on the order and different delivery and billing addresses. This is to safeguard our customers and our business from the very real threat of fraud.
Our staff followed our standard procedures to check that the order was genuine. To do this we tried to contact you by phone and sent you an email on 18th Feb (the day the order was placed). We followed this up with a further phone call to your UK number on 20th Feb. We received no response to our email and were told over the phone that you were away on business. We then tried to contact you again via email on 25th Feb to give you my private mobile number, in the hope of getting hold of you and also called your UK number and French number (no answer at either).
As we don’t take any money from our customers until the order is actually processed and we couldn’t get hold of you to confirm if the order was OK, it was cancelled as your payment authorisation was about to expire. At no point did we actually take any money from you.
We tried to explain this to you when you called to complain but it was clear that at that point you were in no mood to listen to anything we had to say.
At High Octane Sport we work very hard to ensure that we give great customer service and communicate with our customers should there be a problem. Again I am sorry that you feel disappointed in the service you have received.
If we had been able to communicate with you I am sure that the outcome would have been to your satisfaction and that you would not have felt the need to write the only bad review on Trustpilot that we have ever had.
