HITAWAY e-bike BK15

I bought an e-bike model BK15 less than five months ago; two of these, I was traveling, so in total, I only used it for three months. I've been facing problems with it. It started with a flat tire just a couple of days after receiving it, and then more problems appeared, including a loose chain, weak brakes, and issues with the handle. I've already spent over 100 Euros on maintenance, and just yesterday, the replacement tube I received went flat. This is the worst bike I've ever had. I have reached out to support, but there has been no answer. I have tried to call, but I can not get any solution anyway because it's clear that the bike's quality is terrible and not up to the standards of HITWAY. Would not advise anyone to make the same mistake and get a HITAWAY

my Review of the BK5

I like the BK5, after construction it’s a good thing. I’ve had it just for a few days. However, the screw of number 6 in the wheel (steering wheel) won’t budge and now it doesn’t align with the bike. I did have a part I didn’t know how to use or if to use. I will say the battery goes out quickly. And you can’t even put a chain guard on it nor a front basket. It’s quick and I love the sound it makes when it’s max speed, I feel like driving a motorbike and I even use my brake as a gearbox for the sound.

Maybe I’ll come back later to this review to rewrite. All in all I like the bike, but those are some points u gotta watch out from.

BK2 is excellent and robust e bike😃

I am from Germany, and I ordered BK2, it's very robust, perfect and dreamy E bike which is more than I expected. I bought it second time because my first one has been stolen so therefore l've been used it for several months now and everything is excellent. I also asked the help to customer service for some reason . I found they are Very responsive and solved problems immediately. I highly recommend buying bikes from them.

Avoid this company.

Avoid this company.
Bike arrived and did not work.
2 separate shipments of faulty parts replacement, a lot of back and forth on email and the bike still doesn't work.
Company unable to offer a replacement so I have requested a refund.
Company now ghosting me.
I have initiated credit card charge back process.

Waste of Money

I got the bk11 bike in March of this year and already so many problems have happened in a short amount of time the motor sounded like a motorbike when I was only going 10mph and it was embarrassing having people stare at me cus of it I emailed them I kid you not 20 times over 2 months and they would send repeated questions of stuff I've already tried and which i told them i did and they didn't believe me but eventually after 2 months, they offered to fix it they've sent it back and I've had to get the brakes replaced and back tire twice I'm so pissed I spent my money on this as I was hoping its be my new way of commuting around London

They basically steal money via delayed refunds

I’ve ordered a bike with them on 26th of July. On the expected delivery date, the shipping company told me that the seller asked them to return the package because it was damaged in transportation.
It’s back to where they shipped it from since 7th of August, yet Aurora keeps lying that it’s not with them. So they are basically thieves masked as a company.
I’m currently starting legal procedures against Yunda (which actually sells under more brands one of them being hitway) and their owner. Unfortunately customer support is a Philippines based service contract so it’s more or less fictive, and actually useless.

DISHONESTY IS HITWAY'S M.O

On July 23rd, I purchased a lock for my HITWAY BK5 on the HITWAY.EU website. They sent me the wrong model. Since then, it's been hell as they keep beating around the bush.
I sent pictures to their after-sales department to prove it couldn't be installed since it simply DOES NOT FIT.
The pictures unequivocally show that the lock Hitway.eu sent me blatantly differs from the original one.
Despite their commitment to refund my money in the aftermath, their after-sales representative, Aurora has kept making additional requests, more senseless and dishonest one after the other.
Aurora wants me to confirm the obvious I.E the lock can't be installed on my BK5.
It's longer than the original one, has a different craddle, and some. I asked HITWAY.EU to take responsibility for their mistake, and send me a prepaid return shipping label. As a response, Aurora sent me yet another request; showing a shameless disregard for the environment. It seems #HITWAY doesn't recycle nor does care for the planet. Values that actually mean a lot to Hitway's customers.

Hitway ride quality.

I’ve already written a review on the mechanics/electrics of the Hitway BK16 but I’d thought I’d add the ride quality as a separate review. This bike was purchased for my wife as it’s a step through. I decided to take it out on one of my regular runs which involves 13 miles and over a 300 metres of climbing. One of the climbs is an average of 10% for 3 miles. The bike is quick off the mark once you start peddling and reaches 9mph with very little effort on PAS1. 12mph in PAS2 and 15mph on PAS3. This speed needs to be handled carefully in traffic as the bike will not go slower than 9mph unless you have it on PAS0 or feather the brakes. I’m 63 and have been riding bikes since I was 7 years old so think myself as an experienced cyclist. I used to race when I was younger but now am purely for fitness and enjoyment. I found the bike was too severe in acceleration for inexperienced riders. I had to feather the brakes in traffic and try to remember not to pedal in certain situations as the bike would try and get to 9mph in PAS1. In fact I found I could ride more relaxed when I fitted a throttle. The throttle doesn’t max out the motor. Pedal assist does. (Hitway confirmed by email that this is how pedal assist works on their bikes. It’s either zero or max. Nothing in between). On my regular route I noticed that the bike would push me quite a few times. It was like a nudge in the back. I put this down to the motor continually going from zero to max as my speed dropped below 15mph on PAS3 although it did do it on PAS1 and 2 but at lower speeds. Once speed was above 15.5mph which incidentally you couldn’t tell what speed you were going as bizarrely the speed display stops at 15.5 mph, the ‘push’ stopped. I had Cyclemeter running so I could see my real speed so it wasn’t a real problem but it is very bizarre Hitway have programmed their bikes to do this. When I hit the 10% hill I put the PAS up to 3 and the voltage sag was astounding. I went from 8 bars to three on battery level and the motor was very noisy. It really sounded like it was complaining. I weigh 80kg so I’m not a huge man but this bike claims 25% is no problem. It’s not surprising though. As I said before the bike motor is zero or max. So the bike was trying to push me uphill at 15.5mph. Fearing this would damage the motor or controller I reduced it to PAS2 and cycled harder. The voltage sag improved. Going downhill the bike is fairly rigid and you do feel every bump. The brakes are plain awful. You really have to grab both brakes (by the way the brakes aren’t as UK regs. Front brake is in the left) and the squealing made the sheep run. This isn’t unusual for this price of bike. I personally think that hydraulic brakes should be the norm but this bike is for recreational riders not going downhill at 40-50mph as I still do. There are better bikes out there. I have 4 bikes and my wife has two. The BK16 is the worse in my opinion mainly due to the rather silly design of having a motor that runs full on whenever you pedal. It makes the ride uncomfortable and not very pleasant. The battery display indicated 50% used after 13 miles. That is excessive but I suspect it’s again because the motor is on practically all the time. Batteries don’t last long like this. Would I recommend it? No. Not in its present format. The addition of a throttle does make the ride smoother. The bike will accelerate smoothly to whatever speed set by the PAS level. Ironically in the UK on public roads a throttle can’t be used if it propels you faster than 4mph. I suggest if someone is thinking of a Hitway BK16 then try it first. I’d recommend this for any e-bike bought from the web. It’s a lot of money that could be spent elsewhere. Take the range figures with a large pinch of salt. This is a recreational cycle for pottering about the town and charging nightly. Not for longer rides that involves hills or country tracks.

It has been a month but I STILL GOT NO REFUND

I bought E-Bike BK29 (849,99 €) since 23.07.24 and rejected to receive the package so package is automatically sent back with logistic since 02.06.24 (the same day package arrived), I already talked with Hitway EU through email and they said they will have to wait til the e-bike is back to the shelfs so they could refund me but the problem is it has been A WHOLE MONTH already and still NO UPDATE. They have been IGNORED MY EMAIL since 17.07.24 and never replied me, the status of new tracking number from logistic are also can not be seen.

849,99€ is a lot of money, I'm a student and survive everyday with the little money I got from part time work, that money is all my saving and I've been struggling in financial and physical since a month and this month I didn't even now how am I gonna survive since I still got NO REFUND so I have no new money to buy new bicycle to go to work,I don't even have enough money to buy a groceries and other stuff for daily life

They're contacting me back on 07/08/204 to apologise for all the problem and gave me refund (749,99€) so I asked them where is the other 100€ and they mean since tge bike has been return for no reason they have to charge me for the logistic return cost, I can understand that but I also mentioned sunce my first email about the reason of my return, unfortunately they couldn't do anything more about that but they offered to refund me 30€ out of 100€ to help with returning cost and I accept that so thanks to them for helping me but I also think that if I didn't post the review on here, they wouldn't reply me back since they had been ignoring my email for 2 week and just replying me and refund me first when I post the review but yeah at least I got most amout of refund back, thx to their help.

The best purchase I made this year

The best purchase I made this year, runs perfectly uphill, smooth breaking, easy folding so I don't leave my bike outside I can take this into my place of work. Very well made bike. Realy pleasantly surprised this BK5 Bike

I would rate it 4.5 stars as there's always room for improvement, but this can't be selected in the rating chart .

Although there are multiple entry points on the web for ordering a Hitway electric e-bike, I decided to order through the official website. The pricing is slightly higher compared to other sites, but the faster delivery time and the sense of trust were key factors for me.

The website is clear and easy to navigate, with multiple recognized payment methods including afterpay. I used a credit card, which worked smoothly. After 5 working days (the website mentioned 3 to 7 days), the box arrived in good condition via DPD.

The delay between the shipment notification from Hitway and receiving updates from DPD felt uncomfortable, but Hitway's customer service responded quickly to my questions. The robust packaging ensured the contents were protected, and the package included all the accessories mentioned on the website, such as a pump, toolset, lock, and charger… and more.
Assembling the e-bike was straightforward and took me just 15 minutes. The test ride brought a smile to my face. This e-bike rides smoothly and is fast, with disc brakes providing ample stopping power. The folding mechanism is easy to use, and the middle bar serves as a handle for lifting when folded or unfolded. Although the steel frame makes the e-bike a bit heavy (especially with the battery in place), it's still manageable for lifting into a car or train.

The e-bike looks cool and rides smoothly, typical of a rear-wheel motor-driven bike. The saddle's spring suspension adds to the comfort of the ride.

Overall, I am really pleasantly surprised by this BK5 e-bike.

BK 11 nice bike and great help from Hitway

We bought the Hitway BK11 7 months ago and it is a very cool and fun bike. A few weeks ago the bicycle suddenly exceeded the maximum speed of 25 km per hour. We contacted Hitway and they helped us well. By purchasing and installing a throttle, the bicycle could be reset to the permitted speed of 25 km per hour. We removed the throttle again because it is illegal in our country and we can enjoy cycling again. Thank you Hitway for the good solution and help!

I bought bk9 and it was very good but…

I bought bk9 and it was very good but had to return it due to not able to fit in the bike rack on the ferry provided, however, I rode the bike and it was great. Regretted returning it but had to cos that was my only means of commuting from the island and back, so had to change it for a smaller tyre. HITWAY was very considerate as they waived the usage cost of me but had to pay for shipping as their policy says if product is ok shipping is at the cost of the buyer. If you are looking to buy bk9 go for it as it’s a very goooood bike.
