I've bought a multilanguage copy of Tokyo Xtreme Racer from Hobby Genki that came in reasonably fast and in excellent shape thanks to the package. The only downside was the lack of delivery options that included the custom fees to Italy, which I was able to get on other websites. It was a positive experience nonetheless.

Very disappointing experience.

First order: I bought a figure in November for Christmas, but it only arrived in January.

Second order: I paid for UPS shipping (4090 yen), but it was sent with DHL (cheaper) 2990 yen without any notice, leading to extra taxes in France.

I did not receive the service I paid for. Not recommended.

I've been making MAFEX, Nendoroid, Figma, Revoltech, etc. purchases for years now. They've never let me down.

Recently I got into action figures. I follow Hobby Genki on instagram to aquire the latest news regarding action figures. Due to this I never missed a figure I wanted to aquire. The figures are always well packaged, no issues there. I often use the notification for reissues, it did not fail me once. I also used pay later few times, when I ordered more than I should have :D, it works as expected, pay until you have to and receive the figure when released, no aftermarket fee no nothing, the same figure just reserved to you until your payment.

For the shipping I mostly use DHL, it hasn't failed me once, I need to pay the tax-es due to multi-country orders but it is the same for all stores.

I really love this site, from the day I found it I never switched to any other in this topic. :)

I've been using hobbygenki for about 4 years and consider them to be one of the best sites for pre ordering items from japan. Generally they will have slightly lower prices than other import sites (this has helped a lot with the Transformers missing link figures) and the option to choose which items ship together has helped me to avoid customs charges on my orders. The points system they introduced recently for purchases made is also more generous than similar systems from other sites.

Excellent Japanese online store. Can't really fault anything. Always well priced, well packaged and a very welcoming team on the socials.

I tried to give this company another chance and I now regret giving hobby genki any of my time and money. Look around the forums, this company cant fulfill orders!! How can it possible take a month to maybe ship something out? These guys ask for your money on pre orders a month before release, yet they cant ship it out within a respectable time. Communication is slow and not helpful, they put orders on a "priority list" and still wont get shipped out. They make you feel like a bad customer for reaching out so much trying to get what you paid for. If they cant handle the amount of orders they get, they should really stop advertising all of these in stock items.

I bought the new Mafex Venom figure from the movie. Hobby Genki had the best price I found online. The figure was shipped quickly and the packaging arrived in good condition. They also usually respond quickly to any questions I have about my orders. I've already placed about 9 orders with them and I intend to continue buying from them.

I bought the Code Vein 2 Collectors Edition for $48590 yen. Which is a lot of money!

I didn’t receive the item as the parcel was lost. However, despite showing evidence of the lost parcel by the parcel ambassador, Hobby Genki didn’t issue a refund which is completely unethical!

(UPDATE) Take note, if there were any doubt of Hobby Genki's Scam, as if the case wasn't bad enough, I uncovered a shocking revelation when I told  SingPost to investigate the details of the  lost parcel. It was found Hobby Genki had Under Valued the item without my notice by declaring the item cost to be 21495 JPY (!?!?) instead of the correct 48590 JPY amount!! That was very unethical of em! 

So, even if I had receive the parcel, there's a high chance it could be a different item! Unfortunately the fact that it's lost only makes it worse! I only discovered this shocking revelation after I requested SingPost to show me any details of the lost parcel.

To think Hobby Genki had the audacity to tell me they were a business with integrity!?!! What a joke! They knew the parcel was lost (as I showed em the compelling evidence) and still refused to process the full refund. They were also very rude towards me. 

After what seemed like eternity, they grudgingly processed the refund. However, it wasn’t a full refund. It was lesser than what I made for. Anyway, the fact that they undervalued the parcel without my knowledge is not ethical at all!!

To think they even tried to threaten me to remove this bad review bout em and to replace it with a positive one.

The entire ordeal has also affected my health - headaches and stinging eye pain. I suffered a spike in my blood pressure and developed high tension headaches. I have the doctor's medical report.

There customer support is awful they either don't answer your question or try to work around it and just ignore that you asked it in the first place.

Made a pre-order for two very expensive figures, which was immediately paid for! The manufacturer released the product last year, but Hobby Genki will not ship order OBBTGFIHD for what ever reason! even 6 weeks later they don't give proper reason for the delay!

I’ve ordered some figures from hobby-genki and I’m planning on buying from them again top notch figures and better prices and deals with them. Delivery is Good when you have multiple figures in in storage when you’re ready for the delivery. 10/10
