Handy when you can't get a GP appointment
Living in regional NSW, getting a same day GP appointment is challenging at times. I gave Hola Health a go. The whole process was straightforward. I booked online after work and spoke with a GP that evening.

No good for penalties
All indications on the website and app point to medical certificates being provided by doctors. This is NOT the case. If your employer requires a certificate signed by a doctor and not a nurse practitioner, don't get caught out with this service. Penalties won't be paid, this has cost me the certificate price plus $175 a day in penalties. The last thing I want to do when I'm unwell is spend time making sure a service isn't misrepresenting itself.

The booking process and response time…
The booking process and response time are quick and easy. I liked that they put you in touch with a doctor within 15 minutes. I requested a medical certificate and a pathology referral in one standard appointment however when you choose the multi day med cert and make upfront payment for it, the doctor wasn't able to provide a pathology referral at the same consult. You will need to pay for a separate standard consult for referral (an additional fee). So I had to see two different doctors, which cost me $70~

Great to know Hola is there.
The doctor was easy to talk to and quickly prescribed the medication I needed, which was anti virals for shingles. If she hadn’t prescribed this, I’d definitely not be feeling better today.

The doctor called within minutes of our request.
He was able to do his assessment easily over a video call and prescribe the required medication.
It was all very quick and easy over the l,ong weekend! a real life saver!
